I asked ChatGPT for recommendations on programs that could help me safely build strength, improve my bone health, and address my knee pain. ChatGPT recommended Prevail's Bone Health Program and suggested starting there before moving on to working with a regular trainer. It couldn't have been better advice! I really like that I'm doing the exercises under the supervision of physical therapy clinicians (and my PT Keith actually wrote the bone program!) They explain in detail why each exercise is important and which specific muscle groups it targets. I can't wait to progress to lifting some weights! Since then, my husband has also moved his physical therapy care to Prevail. Unlike his previous place, he can actually call and schedule an appointment with someone on the phone! Everyone here is always friendly, professional, and helpful.

They have a comfortable waiting area and I like that you can see so much of the facility, like the different machines and equipment. My PT today was Simone. She conducted a thorough assessment and made sure to answer all of my questions. She explained my diagnoses and exercises well so I feel confident knowing what to do at home in the mean time. Scheduling was a breeze as well! I was able to schedule my next appointments in as little as 5 minutes. Their availability is convenient. If you need PT, go to Prevail!

Continuing on my downward spiral of a journey to physically becoming my aging mother, decades of…read moredumbbell deadlifts, helping friends move particle board, cement blocks and plastic milk crates of furniture from shack to hovel have finally resulted in chronic back pain and leg numbness that for weeks, especially while sitting and driving. I was diagnosed with a slipped disc, then referred to Peak Sports & Spine in Lake City. First, I am a believer that years of accumulated back pain isn't going to resolve itself with a few sessions of physical therapy. Second, I've had PT in several other places and find Peak Sports to have about the same equipment/techniques as the others. Third, I had several sessions of acupuncture along with the PT sessions. The acupuncture took the pain down, while the PT worked away at the deep tight muscles through traction, massage and hot laser. I had moderate positive results each time with PT, and through my follow up attention and care, the good results have persisted. But what brings Peak Sports from a three to four stars is my therapist Shannon. I've worked with two therapists here so far, and while both are personable, Shannon is more communicative and careful to note what's going on with my body. The inner workings of my back and hips is still an Agatha Christie mystery to me, and Shannon explains each procedure and how it's affecting my back and why with great patience. She also gets on my case about (not) doing my mind-numbing Kegel-type exercises to stabilize my pelvis and back, and is a wealth of information about my injury. This place has a small waiting area and gets busy from around noon onwards. The receptionist is always helpful and polite, despite being swamped sometimes. My only complaint would be Peak Sports' abysmal parking "lot", which consists of a few off street spots on the side of the building.

It was an interesting situation with my and Izette knew just what to do. She got right to work and had my ankle/foot situation fixed up in no time at all; a true miracle-worker! I really appreciated her know-how of what to do for an effective treatment as well as some great exercises to do at home. Stellar physical therapist and great space to boot, in Northgate. I had visited several doctors, massage therapist, and acupuncturist over the years to try to find relief and nothing was working. Not only has Michelle been incredible at making connections to get to the root of my injury, but I also left my first physical therapy session pain free. Yes, you read that right. Pain-free for the first time in TWO YEARS!! I've been coming here for over a month now and my pain has consistently been almost non-existent or very low on the pain scale if I do have a flare-up. I got my life back and I'm so grateful for Michelle and the rest of the team at Real Rehab for their expertise.

I won't go into details like I usually do, HIPAA and all (well, because it's not your business),…read morebut I will say I LOVE LOVE LOVE my PT. I would give you her name, but I'm not sure how specialized she is, and HIPAA and all... But I've tried out a few PTs in my day and the one I have here is just awesome--totally chill and yet well-versed in her field, totally personable yet professional enough so that you don't feel strange letting someone lay their hands on you. The only thing I don't like about this place is that, every time you check in, they must check your info--number, address, insurance, etc. I don't like this because HIPAA and all and it's just weird. Maybe it's a UW thing, as it's happened before at another location, but most other places in my life simply say, "Has anything changed?" or even have it on the sign-in form. Maybe that doesn't work for those who simply have forgotten, but I think there's a better way, such as having them check in electronically, assuming they can read. I also think it's weird because, for the elderly, they ask things like, "Are you employed?" or "What about your spouse?" I don't know about you, but if I had just lost my job, that might be a sensitive question; isn't the more relevant question what insurance they have? It's even worse asking about a spouse; what if they are dead? Sensitive and irrelevant. But my PT is awesome enough for me to deal with this, and apparently many others since their wait list for new patients can be pretty daunting. That said, I plan to write to the administration at the hospital to let them know they may wish to consider making changes. Bottom line: If you are effed up at any point, check 'em out! Fingers-crossed you never need them.

Preparing my body and mind for the grave task of childbirth was a daunting, seemingly insurmountable task under my circumstances. A task that Darshana Naik took on and completed with grace, skill, expertise, and compassion. Despite my starting point, my labor and delivery were truly (especially in hindsight) high points of my pregnancy journey thanks in no small part to Darshana's work. Although I was induced, my body went into active labor on its own, my water broke in its own. I labored actively for 3.5 hours, and by the time I asked for the epidural, my doctor said that my daughter's head was visible! Ten short minutes of pushing later, I had given birth without pain medication intervention and was holding my daughter on my chest. Thanks to the months of work I did with Darshana's guidance each step of the way, my body was prepared for and my mind was well-informed of the job it had to do that day. I couldn't have asked for a better birth story for our first child!
