I went to this store to repair my iPhone screen, and the experience has been nothing but disappointing. The technician replaced the screen but never mentioned it was a cheap, non-original part. Now my screen flickers as if it's broken, even though it was working perfectly (just cracked) before the repair. When I went back to the store to address the issue, the guy blamed it on "motherboard damage" supposedly caused when I cracked the screen. That explanation makes no sense because my phone was fully functional before the repair. It's clear they don't take accountability for their work or inform customers about what they're paying for. I feel scammed and will never come back here. If you value your devices, avoid this place! Also when my phone dies because the battery sometimes the touch screen doesn't work I have to wait until battery dies again and try again. read more

Great place to get screen repaired and very kind staff, treated me with respect and was a quick repair

I had received a new apple watch for Christmas. A few weeks later I dropped the watch and the screen shattered. Oops, my bad. On April 4th, 2023, I dropped my watch off at this authorized apple retailer to repair the screen. On April 12th, 2023, I paid $214.70 and retrieved my watch. As soon as I saw the screen it seemed off and unstable. Unfortunately, I did not mention this to the clerk at the time. A few days later, the screen shattered suddenly without any force being applied to the actual watch. I would highly consider another choice for apple repair. $430 seems unreasonable to spend on a shattered screen for a $600 watch, even with apple coverage. Please really consider going to Apple themselves for any issues/damage repairs. There is no money saved by going to this place and frankly there is no certainty their are even using authorized apple products given how easy your apple watch "breaks" or gets "damaged" after you went to get it repaired at this place! read more

My experience with iPhone battery replacements has been disappointing at iRepair. I handed in my iPhone for a battery replacement as it was discharging quickly. I got the phone back with the battery replaced and was told it was working fine. The phone was dead when I took it back... a quick glance at the battery graph after charging it made it clear that the battery replacement had not solved the problem. I requested a refund on the battery repair but was instead offered a discount on a logic board replacement after I handed the phone back in for another diagnostic. I'll be heading elsewhere from now on. I would suggest that iRepair staff at least do some basic verification of battery health especially when rapid battery discharge is specifically mentioned as an issue. read more

I went here in November of last year to get my iPhone battery repaired. All went well, so when the hard drive cable of my Macbook crapped out in March, I thought, oh well, I'll just take it there, what's the worst that could happen? It turns out, quite a lot! I get it back, take it home, and open it up, and bam! The copy of the OS was corrupted, so I had to spend a bunch of time (after paying for the repair) reinstalling the OS and all of my apps. Then, to add insult to injury, two months later, their repair failed. As far as I'm concerned, I want my money back, but they're probably going to give me the runaround about it, assuming that their customer service is as good as their techs. I'm a broke student, I can't afford to drop a bunch of money on a computer repair that doesn't even work. I'll update after I'm done haggling with them. I went with my iPhone because the microphone stopped working on it. They gave me a diagnosis within a few days with a quote - I gave them the go-ahead to do the repair. They quoted me a week to get it done. A week later, my husband dropped by to pick it up. They said it wasn't ready. I had to wait two weeks to get my phone back and when I did get it back, there was a different SIM card in it. It turns out it was the one that they had put in there to fix the phone but when I called once to ask them about the actual SIM card, they said they would look into it and never called me back. I ended up realizing that my husband had taken my SIM card when he went to go pick it up the first time but they never even called me back to tell me there was a mix-up. I was very disappointed and I will not be going back there again. read more

I would never go back here for service. Took my iPhone in for a simple battery change. The replacement battery had worse performance than the original one. Staff told me to take it home and do a restore. Didn't help. I take it back, get another replacement which bombs as bad the first replacement. Staff tells me it must have been a bad shipment of batteries, they've got a new shipment coming the next day, can they hold it overnight. yada yada. This 'new shipment' is still subpar, and I've had it with going back. So disappointed. read more

So i brought my watwe damaged iphone here hoping they could do something (although the phone was pretty jacked). The guy I spoke to told me he could open it up and replace the parts I knew were broken, but it would be expensive and not a guarantee because water damage is pretty brutal. Buyer Beware. Repairing your Apple product at a non "apple-certified" repair location will not just void your warranty, but Apple may refuse to service the phone at all in the future. Customer service at iRepair is pretty good. They repaired my iPhone 5 screen the second time under warranty after it broke following their first repair. Actual workmanship is severely lacking though... As I've already mentioned my screen was loose and the touch screen stopped working after their first repair. They did fix again under warranty though. Now that i have a new phone though I decided to take a peek under the hood of my iPhone. First off the 2 security screws either side of the lightning connector were missing, and internally I have already found 3 screws missing, all which would have had to be removed for iRepair to replace the screen. So it appears that they fixed the phone and rushed reassembling it and missed a lot of details. The movement in my screen was likely caused by the missing security screws to hold it in place. Over all a poor experience, and now Apple refuses to touch the phone at all. read more

I haven't posted reviews here previously but hopefully that won't detract. A newish Ipod 5 and Iphone 6 refused to turn on after an overnight charge. I brought into the Genius bar, they ran a quick test, told me there was no hope. Depressing. My brother told me to try irepair before paying for expensive replacements because they wouldn't charge unless they could fix. In the end, neither item is salvageable but I'm so SO glad I went to irepair because: 1. They are very knowledgable and left no stone unturned, they had many theories (looked for burning, replacing connectors, control boards, batteries, among other things...I'm prob getting the details wrong) and tried everything free of charge. I am 100% confident in their diagnosis (much more than i was after the 5 minute visit to Genius bar.) 2. They literally spent days trying to find a solution, including sending the units to their experts in Markham for diagnosis (no cost). 3. Although they couldn't fix them (the units can't be restarted from a full discharge), they returned the items to me with a temporary charge so that I can at least perform a full backup before they are laid to rest for good. Very thoughtful. 4. Customer service - Can't say enough about Lindsay, the manager and Kevin. They went above and beyond. I even offered to pay a token fee (given how much work they'd done) and they refused because they couldn't fix it. All they said was that if I was happy and so inclined, i could post my experiences, so i'm doing that. I'm not sure why there are mixed reviews here, maybe they've changed management, but I can say that based on my experience last week, they deserve 5 stars. read more

My Macbook Pro stopped turning on. I took it to Apple and Apple Authorized Service and they both said they cannot fix it as my laptop is older than 5 years. They both recommended buying a new laptop ($950+). I then took to iRepair who told me my computer is very much fixable and they dont event need extra part for it. Really upset with these guys. I'll have to edit this when I have time, but the story is pretty straightforward: I broke my iPhone screen, they fixed it quickly, but it introduced other issues: front facing camera no longer worked (now fixed), but now the battery drains really fast (not fixed / can't fix). To quote the owner Phil: "reimbursing labour ain't gonna happen, the buck stops with me". I've never had a more disappointing customer experience... I dropped my iPod Classic off on March 25, 2014. It took them 3 months to asset the problem, which was a faulty hard drive. They offered to replace it at a whooping $140. I told them I would find my own HD online and replace it myself. I went in to retrieve my iPod three times over the past 6 months and they can't find it. They say that it was "recycled". I keep calling Phil/Owen (Managers?) and they won't return my calls. They are ignoring me. I'm now going to be taking legal action against the store to replace my iPod. They are terrible, I would never recommend anyone going there. I never leave feedback on here, but something must be said about iRepair. read more

I find it really weird and disengenuous that all of their negative reviews, including the one I wrote quite some time ago, have been removed/hidden in the 'not recommended' review section, leaving only 3 good reviews for this place. Believe me when I say that they broke my phone while repairing it a year or so ago and my review was 100% true. More recently, even though I told him not to, my husband brought both our IPads to this place for broken screens. What do you know, IRepair used cheap glass on both of them - within a week one was cracked AGAIN. Also, the other IPad that's not cracked doesn't get internet anymore. It was fine before we sent them for the glass repair. DO NOT take your electronic here. DO NOT. What can I say? Has anyone had their iPhone die? It's really depressing and the withdrawal period is painful. iRepair.ca brought my phone back from the dead. had a very bad experience :i read good reviews about irepaire so i am not sure if it is that specific location: my son broke his phone screen, they replaced it and i paid $170 for the replacement,and i went and bought him also one of those life proof rugged covers, the next day while he was putting it on the table the *new* screen cracked, i went back to the store and explained to them that it's obvious the quality of the screen they installed is sub standard and quiet poor they would not replace it unless i paid $100. admittedly they were polite but they were also unhelpful and even admitted that the quality of the screen are not the same as the original ones and that's it, i was disappointed and felt cheated out of $170. i don't recommend this place to anyone...and if you are going to use their service at least be aware that this is how they would treat their customers. read more

I just had an iPhone 4 Digitizer/Glass/LCD Assembly Replacement for $124.30 with tax inc. Make sure to look for burning or odd glitches in the screen before you pay for the repair to make sure it's all good. Service took an hour. Overall I liked the service. Their staff was friendly, their store is not a dump (air conditioned too), and they have seats for you to sit while they repair. The only thing that irked me was there is no guarantee or written form before repair begins to protect your phone's data. I suggest you do a factory reset on your phone before having it repaired (if your phone isn't too broken to do so), as you can not trust a business on a smile and their word that they will not copy or access your sensitive data (intentionally or unintentionally). They will ask you to remove any security lock, but if you can sit and wait while they repair, you can unlock for them when they need to test. THIS IS NOT TO SUGGEST THAT THIS BUSINESS IS SHADY. I don't think they are, however, if you're like me and have Banking apps, business email, and Google docs with sensitive data - BE SAFE AND WIPE YOUR PHONE BEFORE REPAIR. read more

I don't think I have ever received such poor service. They failed to fix my iPhone, told me I had a logic board flaw. I went and bought a new phone and as it turns out, it was the battery all along. When I told them, their answer was "we have nothing to talk about..." If you would like to keep your electronics I would steer well away from this bunch. We brought our laptop here for a water damage repair 6 weeks ago and it still has not been returned to us. Customer service is appalling at best, and none of their promises are ever fulfilled. We were initially told that this repair would take one week at the most, yet a month later we were told that "more parts" had to be ordered and they tried to up the bill by another $25. Not a lot, but on principle - considering that they had already had our laptop for so long this was unbelievable. Over the past 6 weeks, we have not even once received a courtesy call with an update from these people or an apology for the wait, and every time we call them to find out what's happening, we are given excuses and told that it will be ready in a few days (it never is though). Perhaps this story is an anomaly, but there are so many of these types of places in Toronto why bother taking a chance with this one? Some silica beads got stuck in the earphone jack of my iPhone, and a quick Google search told me either to put glue in there and pull it out (!!!) or to give up and buy a new one. I took my phone to iRepair, and about two hours later had it back, good as new, no charge! The staff were very courteous and professional. In the future, I won't even bother with the Apple Genius Bar or crackpot Google suggestions-- I'm definitely coming straight here next time. read more

This place made my phone worse than it was before. My phone suffered water damage and was rebooting itself every 5 mins or so, but otherwise everything was working (no blue screens or error messages). After googling online I found this store and took my phone there hoping they could do something. When I went to pick up my phone, it was worse than before, it was doing things it never did before I took it to repairs. To be fair they did not charge me anything, but now my phone is not fixable any more. The sketchy part is they didn't even explain to me what they did exactly, for all I know they could have swapped the good components of my phone with crappier parts. Good, quick service to replace the glass on my iPhone 4 and also to fix the stubborn power button...they charged me $141 to do both inclusive of taxes and it took just over an hour on a Saturday afternoon...no more embarrassing explanations on my cracked screen and well worth the money if you have seen the youtube videos on DIY iPhone glass repairs ... I am a happy camper ... Issues only with receipt quality...the store on yonge and eglinton uses a cheap printer which was unfortunately out of ink when I rolled in...my receipt is barely legible...they can get better in that department but overall a good experience. read more

I really wouldn't bother with these guys if it involves an Apple product with a repair that really only Apple can do. which is almost everything related to an iPhone or iPad because these guys just can't get the same quality of parts that Apple uses - they say they do - but they are not the same products. They even told me so. Do you really want cheap low-end knock-offs. What's worse is they don't tell you they are about to repair your Apple product with parts that are not Apple parts. Maybe they don't see the harm or the con in that but I think it's a bit of a shell game. I had a broken iPhone 5 screen replaced by them. The break was bad, right up in the corner near the camera as a result of a drop in a stair well. Problem 1: They can see the screen is cracked and broken and glass is everywhere. Do they bother to clean the glass away from the inside of the camera lens on the back side of the phone. No- they just leave the glass there to impair future photos. They just throw the glass on. When I tell them about it they say that would have been an extra 7 steps. So why not phone me and ask if I would like to have it done since the phone is open anyway. Just plain bad service approach and lazy. Problem 2: I had the repaired phone for less than 4 days when I did what I've always done with all of my iPhones for years without a problem - put it in my back pocket and sat down on my leather sofa . This one the new non - Apple screen SHATTER's. Problem 3: The cost of the repair was $113.00 HST, I was expecting more like $1750.00 plus HST so I'm thinking I've got an inferior product that isn't as strong as the original Apple glass. I go back to the store and approach it from the angle of this glass is not an apple glass and I'd like to see the spec. That's when he the rep starts getting all shady and finally admits that it isn't and Apple is the only one that can truly replace their glass. Lesson learned, I should have went to Apple in the first place. Lots of companies claim to make Gorilla Glass, the glass used in the iPhone but Corning is the supplier for Apple probably because it is superior in strength to many of these cheap replacement parts products on the market. They also won't tell you at iRepair that Corning's latest Gorilla Glass has silver ion doping that can effectively kill over 90% of the bacteria on the surface of the glass. My iPhone screen cracked so I took it in here. I was initially happy with them when I left the shop. They even promised me that repairs would be fixed within 6 months. Now, 3.5 months later, my screen has 2 hairline cracks on it. They said they won't do anything because physical damage is not covered under the warranty. I have no idea how my phone cracked, so I'm assuming the glass they use the replace the iPhone screen must be of lower quality than what Apple uses. Update: After I emailed and talked on the phone to them again, a manager called me and told me they could replace the screen for $20. I asked her to confirm that it was $20 and she said yes. So after I take the subway here they tell me that it is only $20 off as a repeat break, not $20. read more

Terrible, terrible service. Take your device elsewhere! I brought my Macbook Pro in to have the video card replaced and I was told it would be ready within 3 to 5 days. I called on the fifth day expecting to make arrangements to pick it up but was told that it wouldn't be ready for another couple days. After a couple days I called again and was given the same line. This continued until I finally was able to pick it up a full 10 days after I had originally dropped it off. Less than 2 days after picking it up the exact same problem occurred. I brought it right back and was assured that my computer would be treated as high priority. Days went by and I didn't receive any updates. I called 17 times and left 3 messages to no avail. Finally, after the fifth day I had get in my car and drive to the shop just to get an update. I waited 15 minutes to speak with the owner and when he finally came out it was completely obvious that he could care less. He even had the nerve to say "Well, what do you want me to do about it? I'm busy right now." In the end, they had my computer for a total of 19 days for a repair that should have taken 3. As a self-employed photographer I rely completely on my computer and so this whole ordeal was a devastating blow to my business. read more

Long story short, I paid $400 to get my MacBook fixed, had to go back 5-6 times over a span of almost 1 year, they kept it about at least a month every time they had it to repair it, ignored my phone calls/emails repeatedly. I basically had no chance to use my MacBook for a good year because they claimed to be fixing it. Honestly, I don't know if they did any work because the existing and new problems keep occurring. They told me they would deliver my MacBook if I wrote a good review even before I could test it out. It leads me to suspect either cheap parts, shoddy workmanship or deliberate sabotage are at play to ensure repeat business. Last month, I had to fix my iPod's headphone jack. Took my iPhone 5 for an LCD/digitizer replacement. After the repair, noticed my charging port was no longer working - waited for the techs to fix that as well (they said there was some dirt in the port, but it was functioning fine before I had taken my phone in). Spent 2 hours in the store. That evening, I realized that my headphone jack was no longer working - I brought my phone back in the next morning and was told that it was already broken in the first place (which it wasn't - the only issue with the phone was the cracked screen). Anyway, the techs fixed the headphone jack and I didn't have to pay for it. Spent 1.5 hours in the store that day. I get home and realize that my mic is no longer working. I couldn't make calls (only on speaker or using headphones). Extremely frustrated, I didn't even bother going back for a third time. read more

Used the mail in service, after finding them online, I sent them my iPhone 3gs, when I tried and failed to install a new battery. But once they had it, it took them over a week to even look at it, then they tell me it cannot be fixed, board damage, wanted me to leave it with them for recycling and save the return shipping, but I asked for it back, just in case I can use parts from it in the future. So waited another week for return postage amount, wanted to pay by paypal as per their web site, but was told they do not take paypal, just credit cards or money order. so sent money order. Waited again, finally get my iPhone back, but they did not return the new battery I supplied them. So once again contacted them but now no response. In the meantime, I still wondered what I did wrong trying to install the new battery, found out on my own that I installed the battery backwards, dumb I know, point is they would have seen that and could have simply installed new battery correctly and charge me for it, instead they tell me that the phone is only good for recycling. What is this place up to???? Filed a complaint with the BBB. They did not respond to them either! I am still using my iPhone, works great with the new battery that I installed myself! I called irepair to see if they can do something to help me out since I just paid $200 plus taxes to get it fixed, and no. There is nothing they can do.
