A fun atmosphere,…read moreexcellent food, and beverages. there's a Breakfast, lunch and dinner menu as well as seasonal specials. That doesn't happen very often anymore where you can go "home".. It made an otherwise somber occasion a little less sad. 2/28/26. We had a family memorial luncheon, originally reserved for 16 people, it soon became 20 people. Rory Dolan was very gracious and accommodating, rearranging tables to accommodate the group. We had a section in the upper dining area to ourselves. There's an extensive adult beverage menu, with of dozens of beers on tap and on ice, wines, and liquors. See photos. The food menu had the expected Irish fare; shepherds pie, salmon, corned beef, and cabbage, etc. There were some Italian inspired appetizers and mains, even Korean flavors. Everyone ordered whatever they wanted off the regular menu. Service was impeccable, the restaurant has an inviting ambience. I noticed there were a lot of "regulars" there this particular afternoon. It's still a pretty cool "watering hall". They have live music on the weekends and they also sponsor local event events.

They have a spacious bar and restaurant area, that is conveniently located on McLean Ave. It is a lively space but the decor and dark wood make it seem more like a historic location. I came here for a work event and order the chicken tender and fries. It came out very quickly, even though the bar and restaurant was packed. My food was hot and fresh. I would definitely order this again. Can't wait to stop back in.

2/16 FIRST VISIT: My boyfriend and I came to Heritage Bar on…read moreFebruary 16 around 2:45 PM. It was pretty quiet since it was early on a Monday. I was deciding between the turkey salad and the Chicken Salad Ciabatta from the lunch specials and asked our server how the chicken salad was, She said it was her favorite and that it was a lot of people's go-to, so I decided to order that. Our food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the Heritage Nachos, Loaded Tater Tot Skillet, Philly Cheesesteak, and the Chicken Salad Ciabatta. The nachos weren't really for me (I didn't love the type of chips used), but the tots were good and my boyfriend liked his cheesesteak. I absolutely loved the chicken salad sandwich and fries. I get a little fixated on foods I like, so I had honestly been craving that sandwich ever since. 3/14 SECOND VISIT: I decided to come back on March 14 specifically hoping to order the chicken salad sandwich again. It was much busier due to St. Patrick's weekend,I was alone, I was seated in a booth in the back. I was given the dinner menu, so I asked the server about the chicken salad sandwich I had previously ordered. She didn't recognize the sandwich but offered to ask the kitchen after I showed her a photo and the menu from my previous visit. Unfortunately she came back and said they couldn't make it. She suggested a grilled chicken sandwich, but I declined since I'm not really a fan of grilled chicken. I ended up ordering the turkey sandwich and asked for a few modifications (no stuffing or cranberry mayo, just regular mayo on a ciabatta). When the food came out, I immediately knew it wasn't turkey. I waited until the server came back and asked her to confirm what meat was on the sandwich. She initially told me it was turkey. After taking it apart & having a few bites I knew it wasn't turkey. I winded up eating the fries and asking for the bill. I decided to show her the inside of the sandwich again and asked her to double check with the kitchen, she returned and confirmed it was actually ham, even though the ticket showed that she ordered turkey. She did offer to remake the sandwich, but it would have taken another 10-15 minutes and at that point I was already over it. I ended up just paying, and leaving. I completely understand that menus change and servers can't memorize every item. I just wish the sandwich had been confirmed with the kitchen sooner when I questioned it the first time. Overall, my first visit was great, and that chicken salad sandwich was honestly amazing. I just wish the second visit had gone a little smoother.

To make matters worse, one person in our group didn't receive his meal until everyone else had already finished eating. The owner stopped by and casually explained that this "sometimes happens on busy days," and offered us drinks for the inconvenience--but we were still charged for them at the end. When we brought this up to our server, she claimed she wasn't aware of the offer, and we ended up paying full price for everything. Overall, it was a frustrating and disappointing experience, with very poor customer service.

Well... let's just say this is a tale of two experiences: the food? A solid 5 stars. Everything else? More like 1. So I'm meeting in the middle with 3. We walked into what I think was organized chaos. People were everywhere, but oddly... no one was sitting. Empty tables, no host in sight, and definitely no one greeting us with a warm "Hey, welcome in!" One of the guys at the bar casually told us to sit wherever. So we did. Eventually someone noticed us. The vibe? Loud, kind of messy, and definitely not what you'd call cozy. We ordered quickly, thinking we were being proactive. But drinks took a while, and the appetizer took about 30 minutes--which really set the tone for the 45-minute wait that followed for our shared entree. Apparently, it was "kids night," but I didn't see a single child. Also, the bathroom? Let's just say in gas station style clean. BUT--and this is a big but--the food was excellent. Big portions, full of flavor, and even better as leftovers the next day. So the kitchen is clearly doing something right. Unfortunately, the overall vibe just isn't my cup of tea. I like to unwind with a good meal and a cocktail--not feel like I'm in a live-action game of restaurant hide-and-seek. There are other spots nearby that check more boxes for me, so for now, this place is going on the back burner. Maybe we'll give it another go someday. When kids night includes actual kids.

I don't like to give 1 star so I'll give 3 for the host who took my order she was kind. I ordered…read morenachos $37 and all it had was burnt chips with cheese and a few jalapeños. A tiny cup of quac and pico. No meat. Very disappointing. I heard so many good things about their nachos.
