Brought a car I was given for work in for a quick service once a couple years ago. I now receive mail 3-4 times per month offering to buy 'my' vehicle as a trade and receive a sales call once every 1-2 weeks from them even though I've called on many occasions and asked to be taken off their mailing list as I do not own a Ford. Each time they send me to three different people to talk with until someone tells me they will remove my name from their sales list. I then continue to get inundated with calls and mailings with no interruption. Be warned ... if you go here once, you'll be spammed nonstop from them even years later and after many attempts to stop it. Also, the service price was 30% higher than most non-dealer mechanics. They were the closest spot to tow the car to when it stopped working which forced me to accept the higher price. read more

Purchased a used Mini Countryman from IRA. Was fairly stress free including negotiations and they gave me a fair deal on the car as well as my trade-in. Since the car was only on the lot for 2 days, I had to wait a few weeks for the title to come in. The car was a surprise birthday gift for my wife so I had requested to come in, do all the paperwork and get out the door before a specific time before my wife came home. They took care of everything, car was cleaned and ready to go including paperwork. Steve was fantastic, very personable and made the whole process quick and painless even with having my kids with me. Made an appt to have my expedition serviced, needed an oil change, the driver side window looked at, a recall completed and to have them look at the sunroof to see why I was getting condensation. Made the appt on Saturday, they said to bring it in at 9 on Mon morning, but it would need to be kept until Tuesday to assess the possible leak, they would order the parts for the recall now. Understood, I rent a car since they have no loaners available and I have to work. Call Tues at 1 to find out when the truck will be ready, only to be told it hasn't even been started yet. Finally took it in at 2:30, never ordered the parts for the recall. Will NEVER go back. Should have learned the first time, this is the third time they have done this to me. Ira Ford Auburn gave me a competitive bid and as I tried to make arrangements for the sale at the agreed upon figure, suddenly the sand started shifting. Smelling a bait and switch, I asserted that I didn't want to have my time wasted, and ta da! they chose not to continue the deal. Negotiation is a given but honorable business dealings are hard to come by in this neck of the woods, so I've come to learn. Ira Ford did not prove otherwise. Let's talk about Prime Ford. The salesman, who's name I have forgotten, may possibly be the worst salesman on the planet. Not personable, knowledgeable or acceptable. The back and forth "negotiation" that was staged by himself and the manager, was laughable. Said salesman attempted to keep the title to my vehicle, even though I was trying to leave. Salesperson genuinely chased me while I was leaving, trying to get back my business. It was the worst experience I've ever had at any retail establishment. Do not go here. Horrible experience. I went in with a problem I had already diagnosed that required a $15 part to fix my air conditioning. My intent was to judge their service department prior to buying a car there. Perhaps taking advantage of the July heat, Ira quoted me almost $600 without ever actually inspecting the car. If I was more cynical, this almost sounds like fraud. Moreover, Ira doesn't respect your time. I had a scheduled appointment, but I was told "the guys are just getting back from lunch so it may be awhile." Two hours of waiting is unacceptable. Recently bought a truck that needed "some work" to get it ready for inspection. Turns out they didn't bother to actually start doing the work until after they sold the vehicle. After finally picking up the vehicle, it has to be towed the first day its on the road. Being polite simply does not compensate for incompetence. This was a customer service fail. read more

I talked to a manager Lauren Ostiguy about a 2017 MKZ. she sent me a Ipacket that had pictures and info. She said it was a trade in. then she said they were waiting for the title and it could take two weeks but i could go see it and put a deposit I said I lived 5 hours away. I told her I was booking a hotel for the night. called me just before I left that the car had a coolant hose leak that maybe I should not come. I said would they fix it she said yes. I told her I already paid for hotel and if they would fix it I would look at the car. Once I arrived she sent some elst to talk to me. Ask me if I new the details about the car. Turns out the previous owner could not fix it and sold it to them. When I saw the car it looked like a horders car a complete mess. Garbage,chips, engine issues etx. I said I was done, I would never have driven to see a car that was a garbage dump that was not maintained for 20k. When I asked about the photos they turned out to be two years old. While the big dealerships will make you wait months for an appointment, Ira can often get you in same day and are honest about the services you need. Such a mixed experience we had at Prime. David, the salesman, was everything you could ask for. He was friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help us out. We already knew what car we wanted to test drive so he had it brought inside so we could check it out on a very cold day. Took it for a ride and came back to start our negotiations. Now the bad part. Ian. Ian the sales manager started to insert himself into the picture every time David got up from his seat. If you could picture a slimy, slick, condescending used car salesman....You'd have Ian. After the third time Ian inserted himself into the process we told David that if Ian did so again we were walking out the door. Ian stayed in the back room for 2 more offers while we were negotiating, but just couldn't help himself and came back again. So we got up and left. We would have purchased the car if not for Ian's insistence on butting into the process with his slimy tactics and smarmy demeanor. The worse experience I've ever had buying a vehicle!!! I went to Prime Ford in Auburn, MA to purchase my first Truck ever. I specifically told the salesman ( Jim Leslie) that I wanted to buy an F150 to plow my small commercial lot with. Within a week I started noticing the back up park aid assist and a few other things not working properly. When I scheduled to bring the truck in for service I asked the service manager to show me what I needed to do when I put a plow on the truck. Unfortunately, thats when I was told that the truck is not meant to plow with and the truck didn't have the snow plow prep package which I was told initially it did. I was now stuck with a truck that wasn't equipped to plow with. After talking with the general manager ( Scoot Webber) he assured me that I could plow with the truck and to call his mechanic. Well, his mechanic, Ford engineering and a several plow stores all said to me that I couldn't put a plow on this truck and that it would damage many things on the truck. So, when I called Scoot Webber back to tell him my findings he suggested I come down to the dealership and test drive another truck that had the snow plow prep package. This only gets worse. When I decided to trade in the truck and buy the truck that they should've sold me to begin with I was not given a fair value for my truck and could not take advantage of any rebates. Despite the loss and not being happy I had no other choice and decided to make the purchase. The day that I came to pick up the new truck Scoot Webber said that I will be getting a survey and that I better leave a good review and if I left the dealership a negative review I was not allowed back to the dealership ever again, and when I told him he's not the one to make decisions for me He started harassing me and was hostile, antagonist, rude and very unprofessional to say the least. Avoid this dealership they are scam artist, do not trust what they say and I will never go back and yes I have spread the word to many people who ask me about my truck. read more

Service department has poor communication and no sense of urgency. Service manager speaks to customers like he is superior to them. Spend your money where it's appreciated---- In regards to the reply I received from Matt I did speak sit and meet with the service manager and apparently he spoke with the general manager saying they wouldn't fix the issue. So if I could do zero stars I would. I ordered my new f250 truck Dec 2, 2021, and I was told it would be ready in 90-120 days. After 90 days I called for an update an was told it was not ready but they would keep me posted. After 120 days I was told if I didn't get the bed liner I could get it faster so I said ok. After 140 days I called and finally they said oh we forgot to order it! But we have a f350 that we will work with you on it so I said ok what's the deal. They told me it list for 47k but they would wave the 4K fee they were going to tack on. I said I was all set. I would recommend you look for a different Ford dealership!!! read more

Let me start this off by saying for the past month we have been dealing with a major issue caused by the negligent work from techs at Midas in Auburn. They broke the rack and pinion in our car and tried to cover it up and have been avoiding reimbursing us for the damage.  That's where Zach and the Prime ford team came into play.  We had our vehicle towed to here after the Midas debacle and from the get go Zach and his team were fantastic. They were thorough, understanding, and committed to fixing the damage caused by Midas. Within 30 minutes of having the vehicle on the lift the techs diagnosed the issue and had a full report for us with parts, pricing, and timeline for repair. Unfortunately due to covid some things we're going to arrive later than we wanted but Zach provided us with a loner car so our day to day lives would not be interrupted.  They kept in touch throughout the process and actually ended up completing the work a week ahead of schedule. We cannot express our gratitude to the techs and Zach for taking such a stressful and horrible situation and correcting it.  That is great customer service and quality. We have made sure to let our friends and neighbors in the area know about our experience and will definitely be bringing our vehicles back to Prime for future maintenance and repairs. I exited from my vehicle and. Ran right into Elmer. I received the predictable friendly greeting one would expect. I explained right up front that I was just looking and had no intention of buying that day. This is where my visit took a sudden turn to the unexpected. He was quite nice in showing me a couple of different vehicles to help me narrow my choices. There was absolutely no hard sell whatsoever. Dishonest. Purchased an extended warranty (Ford warranty, not a third-party warranty) and was told that it covered everything mechanical and electrical. I was told that all I would ever pay if anything failed was a 100 dollar deductible. Sounds great. Shame on me for believing them. I bring my Edge in because the driver's side door sensor isn't working. I drop off the keys and the serviceman says, "We'll let you know if your warranty covers this." To which I respond, "I was told the warranty covers everything." His response was, "Yeah, they may have said that but when you walk in the door, 'Everything' doesn't always mean 'Everything.'" Long story made short; I get a call and nothing is covered by the warranty. I can pay for the repairs, totaling over $700.00 (included in that cost is an oil change I requested) or I can pay for the diagnostic fees totaling well over $100.00. Not only will I never buy a car from them again, I will make sure to advise my Parents and my Office Manager, both of which have purchased cars in the past, of my experience in the hopes that they stay as far away as possible. Was looking for a long bed single cab truck which is hard to find these days with all the yuppies demanding crew cabs and extended cabs...anyway, an internet search led me to this place because they had the model I was looking for. The sale was OK...not the best deal, probably not the worst. Got shafted on the trade-in and took what I could get. Had to renegotiate back and forth between managers for 3 hours and finally got NEAR where I wanted, but still over my budget. Sucked it up and signed the deal. This is where everything went south...financing. They tell me they can get me a 1.99% rate with a local credit union. Of course I need to become a member. A whole friggin $5. But wait, the finance guy (Tim Lavoie) said that they would open an account for me and deposit $10...well that was just one of their lies. When I told him that I already deal with enough banks and can get the same rate through a bank I already do business with, he asked what bank...when I told him the name of my bank he hemmed and hawed about their business hours and how inconvenient it is for him...I figured I better let him do it the way he is accustomed or he will screw it up for sure. So we're good, and he sets me up with an appointment a few days later at 5:30 PM to finish the paperwork and pick up the truck. I'm there at 5:00 to make sure I am there in time for an inspection sticker. He sees me at 8:15. I guess I was on Ireland's time schedule. Then he proceeds to try to up-sell me on anything and everything you can think of...at one point I got frustrated with him and raised my voice where he quickly recognized he had overstepped and backed off. I signed what I had to and got the hell out of there. Then, the paperwork between him and the bank got all screwed up by the bank and I had to spend two separate Saturdays driving way the heck out to Sturbridge, because the local branches are closed on Saturday (how convenient) until I got so tired off their preferred bank's screw-ups (there were multiple cases) that I refinanced the entire loan through my own bank and cancelled all business with the one they referred me to. Should have made them do it MY way and it would have saved me a couple of Saturdays. And making me wait over 2 hours past my appointment time is not only inconsiderate, but unprofessional. The sales staff never made me feel pressured, they gave my son and I the space to discover the truck that was right for are needs. When I finally made up my mind they were great to deal with. This is the kind of dealership bad movies are made about. We were in the market for a new Ford Fusion Energi, it took 3 trips to Prime Auburn to even find a salesperson to talk to us.and he was very derogatory, knew nothing about the car we were interested it. Tried to push us into a used 2015 ( I think) rather than the 2017 we wanted. Even worse he outright lied about the features of the car. Argued with us insisting that the Ford Energi could use the Tesla Superchargers in Auburn Mall. Insulted our intelligence by saying our trade-in ( an 8 year old Volvo S-80 AWD ) was only worth $500 as a trade in. So we ended up at another Ford dealer and purchased the car we wanted at a far better price ( over $5000 less ) than Prime and they gave us a fair $4000 trade in for the Volvo. Now 4 months later we get a notice that there is an issue with the radio in the car and we need to bring it into " any Ford dealer" to get it replaced. Well Prime is closer so we call them . They tell us that they don't do warranty work on cars not purchased from them. If we bring it in they will have to charge us to diagnose the problem and see if the issue we were notified about by Ford is actually covered by warranty but doubt that it will be. Since the " radio" is part of the Ford Sync3 that controls everything in the car I expect that replacing it will probably end up costing us almost as much as we paid for the car. I have no idea what the issue is that Ford notified us is. The radio has always worked fine. Okay, there have been 2 instances that it seems to have lost sync with Sirius and we need to call them to re-activate it. read more

Not Internet Friendly with a Trade I made a request of the dealer about a used truck. Amanda promptly and professionally got back to me. I found her professional and very knowledgeable about the used 2019 truck I was interested in. I am not local to the dealership. I live about 2 hours away. I was interested in trading my 2018 F150 for the 2019. Before I took the trip up I wanted to make sure that we werein the same ballpark for the trade. I couldn't get by, we have to SEE the truck. I gave her the VIN and offered to send detail pictures of the truck. It only has 14k miles on it and is a year old. No we have to see it. I said when you see the truck if I have mislead you in any way, then shame on me and I am on my way back with no new truck. I told her that I have done business this way for years. No you have to come up here. In today's day and age, that is ridiculous. If you are going to use the internet for advertisement, then in my opinion, you have to change your policies to come out of the 20th century and into the 21st. read more

This is the second time I unfortunately need to leave a bad rating. When I showed up after scheduling my appointment almost two weeks earlier, was told they did not have the parts. As I was already there, elected to still complete the oil change. Was very surprised to have been charged $59.00 for an oil change! I left and discovered my heater no longer worked. When my daughter and wife brought it back (within 15 minutes after first picking up) was told it was coincidence that it stopped working after they picked it up. Service manager was condecending to both my wife and daughter, also told them that the service representative who handled the vehicle was not familiar with Hybrids. When the other service manager (Kim) was brought into the discussion, she was also unprofessional. They insisted we had no proof the heat worked before I brought it in (even thought it was snow and sleet so the car was completely "thawed" and ice free when I arrived. They advised it was probably leaves or a squirrel that "finally came throthr and broker the heater", but could check it for an additional $125.00! When my wife told me this, I told my wife to just leave and we will be taking it to a local mechanic. I called another mechanic in my town and he told me to see if it might be just a loose wire that may have been knocked out inadvertently during service...He was right and I ended up getting the heat back! own two Ford Fusions and now in the process of purchasing another for another family member; not only have you lost me as a service customer on the two I currently own, but will not purchase a new/used vehicle or reccommend Prime Ford. read more
