May this place never die. I've been coming here via my friend since we were kids in the 1900's. Recently visited because my friend was looking for a Nine Inch Nails shirt. It's still a small store but it has all the goth goods you need in a pinch. There were Nine Inch Nails shirts but only a few designs that my friend wasn't interested in. The owner or shop keeper was talking it up with some kids at the register. Reminds me of the good old days when going to certain stores was a cool experience and Ipso is one of them. They are located on the west side of Harbor Blvd, north of Chapman and in the heart of downtown so there's plenty of restaurants and eateries to choose from and walking distance to the train station and if you want to catch the bus, it's on the same street as Disneyland, just a half hour south on Harbor. read more

I freakin love this place! All things goth, metal, emo, alternative! Ipso Facto is a hidden gem of downtown Fullerton. It's on the far end of the strip. Quiet location. They have a ton of stuff that made my gothy heart throb! Shoes, shorts, jackets, pants, purses, jewelry, stuffies, crystals and incense. What more could an alternative style girlie want?! I grabbed some jewelry, a healing crystal necklace, some incense. Found what I was looking for, and then some! It's a sea of black clothing when you walk in- love it!! They had limited plus sizes, otherwise I would have gotten some clothes. Super fun store! Great selection! Prices were steep, but how often to you find a unique store like this?! Service was fine. Overpriced, all the clothes are "tied up." Saw a couple things decently priced that I wouldve gotten but I wasnt the right type of customer to warrant helping I guess. Teens/ young adults were greeted upon entry while I was stared at. If anyone knows a similar store that helps all customers send me a message. Especially looking for black platform boots. A true goth shop...one of the few around. Open 7 days a week...check the site for updated hours. It's a small boutique, but it's got a little bit of everything. Lots of jewelry, incense, clothing, bags, and some shoes...plenty of combat boots, a few sneakers, and unique heels. You can try anything on...there are a few changing stalls...but you'll have to ask the attendant to cut them loose off the line. Very helpful & friendly staff too. Oh and behind the counter there are lots & lots of fishnet stockings. You'll find that they all have something a little different in design from the other. Fantastic first experience at Ipso Facto! My son is Goth and heard about this cute shop in Fullerton. First off, the person working there, Terri, was soooo friendly and extremely helpful. She was running the whole show. Lots of people in there and everyone was helped. She was non stop from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. BTW, the shop is very "mom friendly". No tudes I mean! Adorably sinister hard to find items and well stocked! Parking was easy. We'll definitely go again! There's also taro reading in the back of the store. My kiddo received a 15 minute reading from Carl was a sweetheart. He must have said some encouraging things because my kiddo walked out with some good positive energy, which I hadn't seen in a while. When I tell you, this place is the cutest ever-- It is the most affordable goth clothing/accessory boutique I have ever been to in California. All of the pieces feel extremely unique and high quality. You can tell the items that are being sold have been well-thought out and fairly priced. There is everything from steampunk to pin-up to fairy goth which makes it hard to walk out of the shop empty handed. The place is perfect for gifts or just treating yourself. Even though the shop isn't that big, I could probably spend hours looking at all the items in awe! If you love the color BLACK, this place is your dream. I would highly recommend a visit to this shop. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. TL;DR: great selection and customer service, fast responses to email, super fast (basically next day or 2 day) special orders on Demonia/Pleaser shoes. I came here to try on some boots and figure out my size in Demonia shoes. I loved the Camel 201 boots that they had, but they were a size too big. Terri offered to order them in a size 7 for me, but I declined at the time since I was still looking around. I emailed about a week later asking if it was possible for them to special order a pair of Demonia Camel 203's in a women's 7, even though at the time their FAQ stated they didn't do. I got a response the next morning saying that they actually can do special orders for Demonia/Pleaser and updated their FAQ'S to reflect this, and said that I could stop in to place an order. Sweet! The cool thing about Demonia is that they set the price, so you aren't going to find it cheaper elsewhere. I stopped in at Ipso Facto at around 3 or 4 PM on July 3rd to put a special order in. I showed the cashier, I believe it was James, the pair of shoes I wanted and he pulled it up on the wholesaler website. He had me double-check to make sure it was the right style, size, and color, then placed my order and had me pay and give my contact info so they could contact me once they got my order in. 10:55 AM on Thursday the 5th, I got a call from Terri saying my shoes were in and I could go in and pick them up. Since July 4th was a holiday I consider that to be basically next day, and James did state that they usually get them in the next day after they place the order. I stopped by at around 1 and told the cashier (James again) that I'd placed a special order two days before. He asked for my name and to see my ID to verify my identity, then I was out the door with my brand new boots in under 10 minutes. I didn't look much at stuff besides shoes and jewelry (bought myself a cute bat necklace during my first visit to the store), but they seem to have a pretty good selection, and there's two fitting rooms so you can try stuff on. In terms of price, shoes were at least on par with everywhere else, so hopefully their clothes is as well. To those complaining about the price: goth is expensive, if you want cheap/affordable stuff go to a thrift store or fabric store and DIY it like the early members of the scene had to do. Even if it is a little pricier than online, I don't mind paying a couple extra bucks to support a small business, and for the convenience of being able to see it in person and try stuff on instead of blindly ordering. read more

Ipso facto. I have been a customer here for over 15 years. From the time I was a baby bat, until now. The owner, Terri Kennedy, is a very kind soul. And always eager to enrich the community via workshops and lectures (see Dr. James Rietveld and Carl Young). I remember getting lost in looking at all they have to offer. From the beautiful shoes to the hair accessories to the dresses displayed up high. They have something for every flavor, be it cyber, rivet or traditional (even some steampunk stuff). Pre-pandemic, at the clubs you could tell if someone had bought their outfit at ipso, because of the particular way the store smells.. in the best of ways. The incense they use is fantastic, and really imprints on your memory. The employees are always helpful in finding what you are looking for, provided that you are some fratboy type coming in to be obnoxious. I was skeptical when I heard about this place. As a girl who loves rockabilly, pastel goth, and alternative styles, I wasn't sure if I'd find much that I'd like. I was pleasantly surprised to find a place that was fun to shop at. It's a goth boutique, so it's a thousand times more unique than anything you'd find at hot topic or dolls kill. If you've ever glanced at gothic clothes, you know they're not cheap. This place is no exception. The place is small, but it's quaint. The shopkeeper was really friendly and tried her best to find something I'd like. If you love velvet, lace, and clothes with buckles, this is the place for you. Although I love black clothing, I had a hard time finding a dress I absolutely loved. I'm curvy, and they had a smaller variety of clothes that fit me. The ones that did, were stretchy collared dresses that I didn't like that much. However that had cute purses, jewelry, shoes, hair accessories, and a few lingerie items. Even if you aren't exactly goth, they have tons of witchy-like things as well. I bought a killstar purse for $60 and I'm so happy I found it. My boyfriend is goth, I am not, however, I wanted to have a goth outfit of my own to be a cute goth gf once in a while. Him and his friend have been here on multiple occasions, and were there for HOURS. There's a LOT to look at and try on, and there is something for everyone. I am not goth in the slightest, and I found something that I really loved and would wear with some other goth clothes that I bought elsewhere. If you're new to goth culture like me or have been immersed it in all your life, THIS IS THE PLACE. They have tops, bottoms, amazing jackets, tons of accessories, shoes, intimate wear, corsets... Gorgeous clothes! Perfect place for goth girlies! I was so happy to find a store that specializes in dark fashion. Especially shoes. My issue was simply that 1) the owner never greeted us when we arrived or offered help (literally didn't acknowledge to us until we had questions) and 2) all the clothes/ hangers are bound to the clothing racks so it was difficult to really take them out and see them. To take something off a rack you'd have to ask the worker to cut it off the rack which was a bit of a hassle. I like holding clothes up to see if they're the right size and get a feel of how they will look but you can't effectively do that here. Other than those small nitpicks it's a great store. It seemed a bit cramped but is loaded with so many one-of-a-kind outfits ranging from the gothic novice to the head-to-toe-and-let-it-show goth. Women and men's heavy, all black jackets line the upper walls. Very sexy corsets, 80's t-shirts, black oversized pants, and oh-la-la skirts are jammed packed on the racks with security lines to ensure these goodies stay put. Skull, Victorian, and belted dresses adorn the other long wall...so awesome. {@} Please try on the outfits. ( * . * ) You are only allowed three at . |##| a time and with the tiny fitting rooms, I can see why. There are no refunds but exchanges are acceptable. Prices vary and can be surprisingly cheap for some of their items. I visited this establishment on June 8th. The clothing there was unique, and not easily found in most stores. They have a very lovely collection of clothing, I wish I could stay and try them on throughout the day. Especially with the excellent choice of music that was playing in the store. The person working there around mid afternoon was very polite and helpful, as well. Despite the seemingly over the top security measures they have in place to reduce theft the person who assisted me was helpful when I wanted to try on clothes. Also, l realized when I got home 100 miles away I accidentally dropped an earring in the dressing room. The person working there on June 8th was very kind to go check to see if it was there. I look forward to visiting this establishment on Sunday to make another great purchase as well as retrieve the earring I dropped. I was excited to walk into this place. The guy behind the cashier was a downer. He was watching us like a hawk, like we were going to shop lift there. The clothes were wired down to the racks. I couldn't even see anything, because they were tightly wired down. Their prices were double the cost, of most similar brands. The energy was so bad, I couldn't stay in there too long. I loved clockwork Couture in Burbank , but has been closed now for a while. Good thing we have Ipso Facto. The store clerk is super friendly and helpful ..lets you look around and take your time. Some things you can get yourself off the rack, but some you must ask the store attendant to get them for you, which he doesn't seem to mind. 2 very small dressing rooms, but they work. Public parking is available behind the shop cash or debit is accepted selection is good, but some sizes run very small.. I usually wear a medium or large and must always buy a XXX large ...
