I really like this cafe. Very convenient right off the 606. It was very crowded but service was fast. They served these small donuts that came in six flavors. I tried all six. They had three that we're chocolate glazed. They were pretty small so you won't really be full but delicious. The iced coffee was quite amazing. One of the best I've had in a while. They also have a selection of beer which I will try next time. They had a decent amount of space to get work done and fast wifi. I will probably come here often to work. read more

Being in Ipsento 606 made me feel instantly hip. The minimalist décor is beautiful (even the bathroom where there are plants). The music selection was on point, and they were playing Fitz and the Tantrums, which I really enjoyed. Most of the seating is bar height so not intended for long stays and it definitely gets cozy (tight). I felt a little sandwiched at the counter and could clearly see what my neighbors were working on. There is a day to night transformation when the lights are dimmed and music cranked up for alcoholic drinks and the evening crowd. Baristas were skilled in their craft and very friendly! While I don't feel the late afternoon/early evening vibe was very conducive to working, it's a nice place to chill and the chai latte was excellent. read more

One of the best coffee shops I went to while I was in town. Solid cold brew. I almost never drink lattes because there is no need to add anything to good coffee......but their Ipsento latte was delicious (I ordered one with oat milk and it was awesome). read more

The shop has a nice vibe to it, but couldn't handle what seemed to be an average Saturday morning flow of orders. The coffee was average (truly no different than most shops). Ordered the 606 sandwich; 25 minutes later out came an egg sandwich that would have been outshined even by a premade airline breakfast. read more

Conveniently located at a 606 entrance, this coffee shop has plenty of stools available Sunday at midday, and the line was only 2 people deep! Prices are reasonable for a coffee bar, and they do serve food till 4pm, desserts, and alcohol! No laptops after 7pm, and the music is a bit loud to be listening to lectures, otherwise I will definitely come back when studying! Most importantly, their coffee selection is fantastic, and they do have pour overs till 3pm! Definitely check this place out! This is heartbreaking and disappointing. My partner and I met here 2 years ago so we like coming in every year to celebrate. Sadly, the barista today was a bad one. From the beginning, he did not greet us or thanked us and he was so sloppy making our coffees. He got the order wrong. He spilled the coffees, everything was sticky and without any effort to make it presentable. He certainly did not seem to even want to be here. He needs customer service training or find a job he actually appreciates. read more

I got the Ipsento signature latte, made with espresso, honey, coconut milk, and an added kick of cayenne pepper. Was a little skeptical at first but if you can tolerate anything spicy, this coffee is THE one to try. It's different, but definitely a favorite. I also brought my own 16oz cup, and even though I bought 12oz, they filled it up all the way! Love their brew and the coffee flavors. Ipsento 606 has my favorite coffee in the city. I grew up in Chicago, I've been to many a coffee shop, and this is still the one I constantly recommend to friends who visit. The cardamom rose latte is my favorite drink, but I'd recommend the Nutella latte as well. This shop is always packed and there's not much seating, so it's not somewhere I come to work. I'd recommend grabbing a drink and walking through Wicker Park. Lots of fun boutiques and art in the area. They don't have a parking lot, but street parking in this area is relatively cheap comparatively to Chicago's parking scene. As of this review, it's $4 for 2 hours of street parking. If I'm not trying a new shop or showing first-time-chi visitors around the Loop, I come back to Ipsento 606 every time. read more

Two young white male baristas just treated my partner and I incredibly aggressively and disrespectfully here. Instead of politely informing my girlfriend that her face covering was insufficient by their entry standards, the young man immediately and rudely told her she needed to go get a mask (even though it turns out they have masks that they offer patrons) We left immediately but decided to go back in (properly masked this time) to ask for an apology. Instead, we were met by another aggressive young white man who refused to hear us out or provide his name unless we first ordered a drink. Completely hurt by their lack of humanity, compassion, and ability to talk to us with dignity or respect. As a queer black woman, I was strongly tempted to pull their BLM sign down from the window on my way out so others wouldn't mistakenly think they were entering a safe place. read more

What a nice lil addition to the neighborhood ! Wish they were around when I lived a few blocks away and jogged the 606 a few times a week . Solid lattés and iced coffee's . I usually order whatever specialty coffee a coffee shop has so I tried the nutella latté but it was too sweet for my liking and I can do sweet. They have the cutest lil tiny baby dougnuts I usually get for my daughter and I to share. Best coffee shop on the 606, in my opinion. I want to emphasize that this place is fine but I just personally do not like it. Most people do like it. The wait time for a coffee is too long. It doesn't seem to matter what I order, it just takes too long. The tiny donuts are cute but not that good. It's pricey for a coffee shop. I like the vibe better at several other coffee shops. I always seem to be in a line of people and I'm always being bumped into at Ipsento. There is no one singular problem with it, I just don't like it very much. Edit - After reading some other reviews, I also agree that the coffee is usually too hot. That fits with my review. There is nothing overwhelmingly bad, it just isn't my spot. IDK. read more

Friendly atmosphere, great lighting, and lots of tables and outlets for those who are studying are working. They also have cute mini donuts with some interesting flavors (coconut with a little chili powder? So good!). They have a great location that's close to the Milwaukee bus and blue line and there's even a few divvy locations close by so afterwards you can take a stroll on the 606 located next door. read more

Nice minimalist coffee shop right off the 606 trail on Milwaukee. Will say that it's a bit of a far walk from the action on the Milwaukee strip though. I got a cardamom rose latte with whole milk. The small size is excruciatingly small, so I'd opt for a bigger size. There's some art from Sentrock on the wall. The coffee bar is sittable, so this is a nice touch. Coat hooks are in the back wall near the bathrooms if you want to unload some of your bulk. Lots of different clientele right after Thanksgiving when we went in: people getting work done, families, friends grabbing a drink, couples stopping in. Pretty good atmosphere. I think I saw some beers on draft as well. Believe they have another location. Will probably come back to this one some other time too. read more

Ipsento's biggest fault, it's proximity to me. I have learned a little self control since it's opening but still spend 5x more on coffee than I usually do. My husband literally just ran down to grab us evening lattes. This is a clean, modern, and in layman's terms, just really cool coffee shop/bar. You heard right, BAR! I have popped in a for a few of their cocktails, and, amazing. I think they rotate both their cocktails and beers but I'm not completely certain. The staff here is always friendly. They know my name. At least the morning guys do. As far as their coffees and lattes go, hands down, the best. Apparently they have this expensive filtration system and use reverse osmosis water. A true coffee bar. I visited on a Tuesday night around 8pm on my self-guided Blue Line Coffee Tour. At night the coffee menu is limited because they focus on alcohol sales, but its still a good time to get a cortado. And man, is it good! And unique! The only cortado I have drank that is made with 3 (yes, 3!!) shots of espresso. Beware, you may not sleep for a while after a cortado from this place. Then ambiance at night is classy and calming with the dimmed lights and candle lit room. The layout of the coffee bar focuses my attention on the main reason I visited here: the back-to-back Slayer espresso machines--they are beautiful! The baristas/bartenders are super friendly--chat with them!--and down to earth. read more

Ipsento has done it again! Wow the new set up is completely different from its old one. The Ipsento 606 is very modern, clean, and efficient. It has a nice, dark, work vibes feel to it. I can definitely see myself perched here for hours. And guess what, you can be because they are open until Midnight! Now that is amazing for a night owl like me. As always, I get the ... // ipsento - extra sassy - this honey coconut cayenne latte is out of this world. The extra sassy part means more cayenne.. Because I... Like... It... HOT! One of the most delicious unique drinks in Chicago. Ample seating, great location, huge Windows and friendly staff. Doesn't get much better than this. Dragging myself through O'Hare, I knew I needed a good jolt of caffeine before hitting the parking lot known as the Chicago highway leading to downtown loop. I quickly yelped and saw Ipsento as a good place and it did not disappoint. This is a neighbourhood coffee place that has a lot of cozy seating where a lot of quiet groups of people are working. Service is warm and helpful... I was debating between a dirty chai or their seasonal REAL pumpkin spice coffee drink. I ended up getting a dirty chai and it was a good one as you can taste a balance of the espresso shot and spices. It wasn't overly sweet which was a nice relief. If I'm ever in this spot again, I'll definitely come back to try more of their coffees. Great place and would recommend. read more

Cool cafe coffee shop in Bucktown. They're open late. It's by the 606 elevated trail. There's a cool mural outside and a bark. It's quite busy and popular. There's a smaller location close by. While the first location is cozy and small with tables and chairs that don't match, this location is more elegant, and I saw couples having cocktails in the evening. I guess it depends on your personality which location you prefer, This one is open late. I think they make their own donuts. The croissants are from Floriole. read more

This location is quite enjoyable. There is ample space, great restrooms, a really nice aesthetic, accessible location by the 606 (obviously), knowledgeable staff, and we haven't even gotten to the drinks at that point. I like that it is open late and serves beer, wine, and spirits. The ipsento has been my favorite latte drink since a mentor brought me in 2010 (at the Western location). The beer selection is great and has many Chicago breweries on the list. I think the organization and service style could be a little more clear as to clearing used dishes, where to pick up your drink, etc. nonetheless, it's worth visiting and is a nice spot for a lot of occasions. read more

Ipsento 606 is a really great new coffee shop located right off the 606--with the open spaces, light, and green accents fitting to that location. I had a rich flavorful coffee, and was beyond pleased to discover they also carry a gluten free buckwheat scone (disclosure: made on shared equipment). Everything from the location to the staff was warm and welcoming, and it was a lovely stop in during my wanderings. I definitely recommend! read more

We quickly explained we just wanted to see what the wait time was, and he said "don't you see there's a line outside?" We said yes, and explained we just wanted to know a rough estimated wait time. He just blankly stared at us while ushering us out. Both my boyfriend and I have worked in customer-service roles for a very, very long time. This encounter was not only extremely rude and unprofessional, but he also hit me hard enough with the door to send me stumbling back, and then said nothing about it and continued to address us in a tone that was nothing less than annoyed and irritated. I don't believe in spending my money at establishments that don't treat their customers with the bare minimum respect they deserve! Stopped by Ipsento 606 and grabbed an Ipsento Latte, a chilled nitro cold brew, and snagged a mini-donut box. The vibe's clean and chill, lots of light and that fresh café/bar flip‑at‑night energy. Our barista was friendly and quick, no hipster snobbery, just solid service . Ipsento is a truly great spot for coffee. I stopped in for a quick coffee and ended up staying much longer because of the cozy atmosphere and excellent service. I ordered the Ipsento latter and it was perfectly balanced -- smooth, rich, and not overly sweet. They have great variety of coffee and the quality was so fantastic. I can't figure out why a shop would use a very common allergen milk automatically in a drink that almost always defaults to dairy milk. But then I saw that they make their matcha in a blender bottle lol. So it's probably because dairy milk foams up when you aggressively shake it like that. Efficiency, I guess? That also means the matcha is really grainy. I've heard bad things about their other teas too. I guess it's just one of those shops that wants you to suffer if you don't drink coffee. That's the vibe it gives anyway. My wife says the coffee is top notch. It's super quiet in there. So if you want to chat over a tasty tea, you're gonna have a bad time. But if you want to quietly work or study in hardback chairs and drink good coffee, it's a dream come true.

The store is very bright and clean. We had a problem getting in, initially thinking the store was closed, although we could see folks in there. Turns out that the door is somewhat hard to open, and fortunately the gentleman sitting in the window alerted us to push real hard. Turns out while we were there, he was the unofficial doorman letting others know to push real hard. Since the flight was unavailable, we decided to have breakfast. The Queen got the Best Damn Ham & Egg (bacon, ham, egg, and pepper jack cheese on a croissant) and I got the Breakfast Burrito (sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and cheddar cheese wrapped in a flour tortilla, side of salsa). Both of these were quite good, fresh in flavor. I also got a cranberry orange scone, which was also quite tasty. Before I could ask if they could warm it up, they offered to do so. I love pastries and I need them warm, so kudos to them for offering without me asking. The Queen got a Biscoff Latte (secret recipe syrup, a double shot of espresso, milk, whipped cream, topped with a biscoff cookie. This drink is 16 oz in size. She said it was delish and that the cookie was just lovely. I got a standard mocha with almond milk and that was very good as well. There are seating options throughout the location and ample room if you want to work on your laptop: tables, benches and couches. I like that they offer different sizes (8 oz, 12 oz, and 16 oz) for certain drinks, while some come in 16 oz only. And there is the option of hot and cold drinks. Service was cool. The staff was pleasant. Once you place your order at the front counter, they will call you up to the front to pick up your drinks and eats. I have to also mention that they were playing some great dusty tunes to groove on a Sunday morning. I thought the prices were pretty reasonable, especially when you compare it to a Starbucks. Avocado Toast under $10, yes you heard that right. I can definitely see myself coming back here on an early Sunday morning to just chill, drink and eat, it was that much fun. Before leaving, I did thank our doorman for his service in helping all of us to get into the joint. Next time, I will know to use some muscle to get into Ancient Grounds Coffee Co.
