This is a top contender for when WFH is a bit boring...lots of seating + decent wifi + outlets, low to medium noise level (im sure that depends on a variety of factors-but I didn't find it to be overbearing), delicious drinks and great food. The baristas were all kind and I felt comfortable spending ~5 hours working here. It's close to the 606 (hence the name) and easily accessible via transit. A little bit of something for everyone. A funky little spot off the 606 trail! The donuts looked so cute!! They are miniature and adorable. I didn't get some but I wanted to! I got an 8 Oz cafe au lait and a ham and cheese morning bun. Local and friendly are two important elements when it comes to Coffee shops. This place has them both. The staff was welcoming and friendly along with patient. I had an hour to kill before an appointment and opted to come here versus Starbucks down the street. I'm very glad I did. If you can work with moderate noise (background music and conversations) then work here. If you plan on doing a business conference call, not sure if this is your spot to do so. I went with this small Americano as it was just enough to get me through the rest of the day. Well who knows, this may have me up until 2am. Paid Street parking is available and it near the Milwaukee entrance/exit of the 606. Wow! This place is a must go. My friend took me here after an amazing reflexology session and I was already in a good mood but this place's latte made my day even better. I decided to go with the Nutella latte, because who can resist that? My friend had the ipsento latte and we got two mini donuts that were the donut versions of our drinks. The Nutella latte was nothing short of amazing; it was sweet and tasted just like Nutella and gave me the perfect afternoon pick me up kick. I tried the ipsento latte and it too was delicious. It is made with cayenne and coconut and the combination creates a smooth and slightly spicy and slightly sweet taste. The mini donuts were also sooo good. I just wish they were bigger! The atmosphere of this place is clean and modern and they also serve beer and other alcoholic beverages. Many people were studying while we were there. The cashier who took care of us was friendly and helpful and not pretentious at all, which was great, since this seemed like it might be the place for pretentious people. The only small complaint I have is that in the restroom that I used the hand dryer wasn't working. Other than that, I was in love with this place! read more

I've discovered, over the last few years, that the best way to discover what customer service in a food or beverage business is really like is to have gray hair and wrinkles. There is a common myth in the hospitality business that old(er) women are lousy customers and, even worse, bad tippers. My twenty years of experience in restaurants and catering proved to me that the stereotype is not true. Not every front of house person working in the industry would agree with me. My recent experience at Ipsento proved that. I actually saw the barista sigh when she turned and saw me approach the counter. There was no welcoming smile; instead, just a flat "what would you like?" It was my first (and, almost certainly, last) time there, so I said, I need a moment to look at the board. I ordered a regular latte -- not one of the special ones -- and it did come quickly. The store wasn't very busy at the time. And by the way, I tipped 20% -- after all those years in the hospitality business, I always tip. The drink was presented; I sat at a table and visited with a friend, who had ordered tea. She is not gray-haired like me, but she would not be mistaken for a 30-year-old. She had a couple questions about the tea choices, and said that the staff were not familiar with the tea choices. I had wanted to order a treat or a sandwich, and here, friends, you might think I'm being picky. I hoped to find something vegan to eat. I certainly would be happily surprised to find vegan selections at a coffee house in rural Indiana, but Bucktown? Come on, you guys! Couldn't you have at least one selection? My fellow Yelpers have written that Ipsento is great for coming off the 606 trail and getting a quick drink to go. Ipsento probably is very good for that. Customer service is crucial. If you treat me like I am bothering you, don't worry; I won't be back to bother you again. It's not necessary to be fawning or obsequious. Just act as if you want to be there, and you want to make sure your customer leaves happy with plans to return soon. Leave the attitude at home. read more

Really cute spot for coffee & snacks! Beautiful interior right off the 606 with plenty of opportunities for outdoor dining on rocks and the like. Friendly service and top of the line apple juice for kids. We ordered two nitro cold brews but it turned out they only had enough for one. So they refunded us the other & gave us an iced coffee on the house! I'd love to come back in the evening sometime to try cocktails & charcuterie boards. Ah ha! See now, I have actually driven past Ipsento 606 a number of times, but never really noticed its cafe. What always caught my eye is the colorful artwork on the side of the building, yet I never looked to see what businesses were part of the building with this colorful art. I visited as part of the Yelp Cafe Week and chose it because it was one of the cafes within a 3-mile radius from my apartment out of the choices for the week. During Yelp Cafe Week, Ipsento 606 offered 1 free 8 oz. of drip coffee, which I recieved proudly after checking in. I made my way there after a short 2-mile run on the Bloomingdale Trail, so my endorphins were pumping prior to walking in the door. To be honest after visiting Caffe Umbria, this was a huge downgrade in comparison to its inner interior and the service I recieved, which I will explain in this review. To throw it out there, I even mentioned in my review of Caffe Umbria that I will never look at other cafes the same after visiting. The cafe itself was very congested inside and post ordering I did not think that I would even find a seat, so I could jot some things down for my review. My interaction with the barista was straight to the point with no friendly interaction before and in-between, which was far from welcoming as a typical cafe. Most baristas strike me as being caffeine geek'd up, but this was a different experience, but I rolled with it. Your only option for parking is either street or neighborhood which can be an issue due to it being Wicker Park, as well as there being other businesses along this highly visited area. As for returning, I would have to really think about it because of my experience, as well as my expectations being set at a level that this cafe did not reach. Interesting.. I had a review from a while back that seems to have been removed. I've been a patron for a years. Almost as long as Ipsento has been open. And their quality in how they treate customers and how they make lattes has gone downhill. I think the only reason why I bothered to give them a chance was because I miss the old Ipsento quality, vibe and crew. Cute interior and fun doughnuts, but it's quite overpriced for what it's worth. A half dozen bite-sized doughnuts cost almost $8. There's no air conditioning, and there's only a window in the back for ventilation. I am usually good with hotter temperatures, but it was over 80 degrees inside and my head was getting light. read more

Right off the winding Milwaukee Ave exit of the 606, you'll come face-to-face with a vibrant mural. On the other side of that mural is the stylish and trendy coffee house known as, "Ipsento." Technically, this is the, "Ipsento606" location, so if you're looking to visit (do it!) type that in your search box. As I was saying... I love how Ipsento brings out the old charm of the building (just look up at the ornate ceiling tiles!) while freshening the place up with modern pendant lights and a quirky cardinal poster. Though their coffee menu may be modest, the coffee itself has bold (but not overpowering nor distasteful) flavor. The Ipsento Latte has a slight kick that will subtly strike your throat, but flow down it smoothly. It's great! Aaaand if you're looking for a bite to eat, they'll whip you up hearty and flavor-packed, open-faced sandwiches. Or, if you just want a teeny lil' something to go with your coffee, they have adorable, miniature donuts that will hit the spot! What was once the Bucktown powerhouse of coffee and breakfast goodies has declined to the bottom of the barrel as far as local coffee shops. I have been a frequent here for years and have watched its demise. The final straw was when I went there this weekend. Only two people in line ahead of me. I ordered Two Iced Americanos. The assumption of anyone with that order would be that it shouldn't be a long wait. Never in my life have I been more wrong....and I was a fan of Bill Cosby. Standing around bewildered for 30 minutes, my name was finally called. As confused as I was, it was almost impressive that you could be barista-ing for that long and only crank out a few drinks. It was a rough night before so I decided to get a little crazy and add some sugar to my drink, little did I know the horror I was about to witness. I am very thankful that the sugar container with the little flap lid was clear, if it wasn't I would have had some extra protein in my coffee and most likely thrown up all over the floor. A big ol centipede was in the jar. Alive and hyped up on the white lightning, it was bouncing around in there like a pitbull waiting for its little sign saying it found a forever home. I tried their pumpkin patch latte (now available)- you can taste the pumpkin come through (no artificial flavors) and no need to add anything else. Sweet enough to perfectly balance the pumpkin and latte flavors come through. I was SO excited for this new Ipsento location to open up by the 606 Bloomingdale Trail. It's off the "Leavitt/Milwaukee" exit. Once again, it's a beautiful coffee shop with a plenty of natural light. I ordered one of my favorite speciality coffee drinks, "Ipsento." The iced version of this was wonderful. It truly was the "make-you-feel-good" beverage I needed for the lazy afternoon. By the way, their mini homemade donuts are addicting! Please be advised that one (1) serving portion is tiny, like a bite-size miniature donut. I guess they have done the work of "portion control" and it shouldn't be consumed like potato chips, one after another. If you can't find a table seating, it's totally alright to stand at the bar. The Sober Sommelier @ Ipsento 606 Fresh off my therapist's couch, my head (and schedule) is clear to launch into some work over a cup of coffee at Ipsento 606 in Bucktown. It's a cool and damp spring day, but I decided to walk over on the 606 anyway. This three mile, rails-to-trails reinvention is one of my favorite parts of living west of the Kennedy. With spring in bloom and the Chicago Marathon in sight, the 606 is coming alive with runners, walkers and bikers sauntering along this beautifully landscaped and well maintained path. It's a short walk, but the chill is cutting through my jacket and hoodie combo as I take the 606's Milwaukee exit and cross the street halfway between North and Armitage. Ipsento 606 greets you with an airy, inviting feel. A chill, trance-inspired soundtrack plays lightly in the background and a playful conversation between Ipsento staff adds a warm ambiance as I walk up to the counter. It's noon, but Ipsento isn't playing host to many lunch dates. Most people are flying solo and are focused on their work de jour at one of the many metallic bar stools and dark high-top tables. High ceilings and big white walls adorned with drawings for sale by a local artist, Jordan Wosolek, make the space feel roomy. Two glass garage doors sit in the back waiting to be opened up in warmer weather and give customers a nice view of a well-manicured park that sits on the 606. I'm spread out at the only available table, a comfortable low-top in the front window. I had my usual; a black drip coffee. They were brewing a Guatemalan blend today, and I liked it enough to have two cups. Strong, but not bitter, the Ipsento blend matches the upscale, but not "too cool for school" atmosphere it is served in. The only thing Ipsento could upgrade is their choice in mineral water. I was jonesing for a Topo Chico but had to settle for a Pellegrino. #firstworldproblems The food is superb. After some carnivorous consternation over the lack of meat on their breakfast sandwich menu, I opted for the "Debbie" with a side salad. Served on whole grain bread with a fried egg, cheddar, tomato and basil butter, this breakfast-for-lunch meal was perfectly balanced. The side salad was no side show. It was a star on its own - a simple, well-seasoned spinach salad with a perfect blend of oil, salt, pepper and caramelized seeds that added just the right amount of sweet to this savory accompaniment. Now, I know what you're thinking, "Enough with this great coffee and food business. We have to pee. What about the johns?" Well, I'll tell you. The washrooms are single-seater, handicap accessible toilets with accent lighting and plastic plants that seems to have been borrowed from the nearest college dorm room. Aside from a loose toilet seat, the Ipsento 606 pit stop passed muster with flying colors. I was full of energy when I walked in, but my computer was not. Fortunately, every table and counter space at Ipsento 606 has a dedicated electric outlet within reach. Two cups of coffee and a yummy breakfast sandwich later, my bod and my laptop are moving full speed ahead. Ipsento 606's adorable mini donuts come with a mini price after 4 p.m. (just 64 cents). I got three - a chocolate frosted, chocolate sprinkle and cinnamon sugar. These one or two-bite sugar fixes are not as tasty as they are cute, but I'm still glad I got them. One sober disclaimer - Ipsento 606 sports a snazzy cocktail menu that this caffeinated caballero can easily abstain from. However, some of my sober sisters and brothers may have a harder time with that and, thus, it is worthy of a warning. When you put it all together, we have a winner folks! Really great vibes here! It's a great space with warm dark wooden finishes and lots of natural light- great for getting work done. The only thing to keep in mind is that it gets loud! They blast the music so it was a little hard for me to hear myself think, even though I usually love doing work at coffee shops. Aside from that, the coffee is great! I had an herbal-tasting latte with almond milk which was very good. They also have mini donuts! I usually don't like donuts at all but these were made from sweet potato and I had to try. I think the one I tried was orange with cardamom and it was super soft and a perfect texture. What's cool about ipsento is that it has a bar too! Went here on a hot day after walking the 606. The iced vanilla latte and nutella latte were exactly what we needed. They were made right in front of us and tasted delicious. The staff was quite nice, one of them talked us in to trying their mini donuts (spoiler: they were delicious). We tried the cinnamon sugar and the orange lemon. Super small, but they are called mini donuts. If you go after 4pm, they're half price as well! The atmosphere is really cool in there. Ipsento has some of the best coffee in the city. Their pumpkin patch latte (8 oz will set you back a steep 5.40) is made with real pumpkin and tastes incredible. Would definitely recommend trying once. Their mini donuts are 1.50 each. Though pricey, the cafe is open till 9 pm making it an ideal study spot. With dimmer lighting, and plenty of seating, it's a lovely cafe to get some work done or catch up with friends. Lovely artwork covers the wall (that you can purchase as well). The ambience is very good for young professionals. However service, price and coffee did not live up to expectations. We bought a chocolate croissant, 1 small black coffee and one small mociatto for 17$. The real issue is that the mociatto was only 1/3rd full of an already smaller than average cup. When looking at the cup we were met with " are you upset with your coffee " and " do you expect it to be like Starbucks". Yes yes we did expect it to be like starbucks. This is the kinda place hipster teens and millennials go to get that *aesthetic*. The overall coffee shop is really great. The music is a little loud, not the best for doing work, but fine if you're just chilling and having a conversation. They have lots of seating, but it is usually packed, which is a testament to the quality. The staff is very polite and do a great job. Now for the actual coffee. The menu has a limited number of options, and it more on the pricey sides I got the cardamom rose latte and I didn't taste cardamom or rose, it was a good latte I'll give them that, but definitely not worth it. Being a fresh meat in chi city, I was the classic hipster looking for the best coffee in the city. I was so happy to found Ipsento 606. Amazing selection of coffee - each cup stands up for itself and there is a wide variety of good coffee. *) The nutella latte had the perfect amount of nutella sweetness without overpowering the taste of coffee. *) The ipsento latte is no standard latte. I love that they spiked it with spices for a unique kick. *) Cold brew is my go to work coffee and Ipsento's did not disappoint. It's refreshing with the perfect amount of acidity - just perfect for my taste. I have to give honorable mention to their donuts. They are in adorable mini size, with the perfect amount of sweetness. My favorites are the earl grey and maple donuts. What Ipsento is doing in the city of chicago is pretty awesome. They are bringing the coffee to the people literally and allowing people to be a part of their success by crowdfunding their hopeful expansion. This location is very close to their other one, but offers a much more modern feel. The other a lot more cozy and I'd say more conducive when you're trying to get work done. Each cup of coffee here can be made in the style that you prefer. Really nice that it's nearby the 606, I only wish I discovered it when the weather was warmer. Overall this was one of the nicer cages I've been to around Chicago. This is one of their few locations in the city featuring their mini bitesized doughnuts in several flavors. I decided to try their seasonal basil mint mocha drink and I was very surprised by how well everything mixed together and tasted. The latte art was prime and looked very well crafted. Overall one of my hands down favorite cafes I've been to around Chicago. The actual scene was quiet more in the early afternoon, but got more louder as more people came in. Seating was pretty rough and got pretty crowded. There wasn't too many spots to sit to get work done but the wifi had pretty good speeds.
