Good laksa, with a nice tasty soup base. I had the wonton option and the wontons are clearly premade separately to the soup, the wonton was a bit cold in the middle, and it came out way too fast to have been cooked to order. Having said that the soup base was nice, and the noodles and other ingredients seemed nice. The restaurant seating area is quite spacious, it actually goes around the corner and bends around again, so it is not too hard to find a spare table. The ordering process is straight forward and efficient.

Beef Rendang and Satay are those 2 favorites food that I like the most. Slightly different on how they cook beef rendang, Indonesian style ( Padang, West Sumatra in Indonesia ) and Malaysian style ( in general ) beef rendang. This dish is very famous among Malay community in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei and Philippine. It's not a history lesson that I want to do here but giving you, my review reader, a little bit background about this this and how well I knew this this to write a comment as bellow. It's a crucial sin to under cook the beef rendang, to give final product still have meat resistant when you chew. It is a braising dish that cooked, low and slow, until less liquid (gravy ), in general and becoming thick and almost like little dry a paste ( Indonesian style ) , and meat should be able to be pulled by fork only with a very tiny ( or almost ) no resistant. My beef rendang $11, wasn't cook long enough, although overall still enjoyable dish but not the best that I've ever taste. My chicken satay, 2 stock for $5, was super dry, and peanut sauce that comes accompany this skewer was "authentically" taste like 'Ayam Brand', ready to use peanut sauce from the tin. Ice coffee, $3, wasn't enough coffee kick, and really sweet with condense milk flavour dominating the whole drink Over all there is no saving grace at all to boost the good review, what a pitty since this joint has more than 4 star out of 200 reviews. I'm just giving an honest opinion about this place when I'm dine for lunch and to All reviewer that giving more than 3 stars on Beef Rendang and Chicken Satay.... I apologized for saying this, please pack up your backpack and travel to Malaysia for vacation, so you can truly enjoy authentic Malaysian food.

Nasi Lemak with Chicken Curry. Delicious!

Great Malaysian food. Tried the Roti Cannai and the Nasi Lemak and they are delicious. They're one of the best Malaysian food I've had in Sydney so far. And the prices are quite reasonable too. They get very busy during lunch hour so you need to get there early, otherwise you might not be able to find a place to seat. You order at the counter and are given a number, once your number is called, you then collect your tray of food and find a place to seat. I did notice that a few of the seats were reserved so I guess you can make reservations there. They don't open for dinner though as I found out one evening when I tried to go there after work.

Super super super crowded on a Friday lunch break! Hubs had the roti and I got the Laksa. I know I haven't hit up the best laksa in the city yet but this was a contender, best I've had so far. I'm also going on colour as this had a deeper red hue. Dang now I want another bowl. Noodles in spicy sauce. Grabbing a table was really tricky because of the sheer amount of people, and so food wait time took a little longer. But again, worth the wait.

Ipoh hor fun (I got excited and added heaps of chilli myself). $11 a bowl. Like pho with a prawn and chicken broth.

Been here many times but never remember to leave a review! Really should make an effort since I'm born in Ipoh! Food here is really authentic, they have a wide range of dishes. My fav is the Assam Laksa, $12 a bowl. Coming in close second is the ipoh hor fun (like pho but with prawn and chicken broth) $11, but I find the broth a little too salty. Portions are very generous, the hor fun is twice the size of what you'd get in Ipoh! Lots of toppings too. Have tried pretty much everything on the menu, har mee is great too. Lunch time's heaps busy and you'll have to wait sometimes to get a table. Usually service is quite quick. Best to rock up at 1215.

Still looking for good lunch options in the CBD. Ipoh On York is very busy during lunch time, but service is fast. I had best chicken laksa here in Sydney so far. The coconut-based curry soup is absolutely delicious with just the right amount of chili to make your tongue tingle. The sandy or gritty texture of the soup gives the flavours an extra depth. The rice vermicelli is nicely firm and the shredded chicken is tender. There are not enough toppings compared to the generous portion of noodles, probably a cost issue for a $10 dish.

At last I've been to Ipoh on York. Hands down this is the best Malaysian eatery around. I had heard about the place and read the rave reviews on Yelp about how good this place was and how tasty the food dishes were. It is down the steps from street level to the underground restaurant of Malaysian delights. The restaurant is spacious and very clean. The waitresses are all attentive and service is quick and efficient. There is so many favourites to choose from such as Assam Laksa, Nasi Lemak Curried Chicken or Beef Rendang, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Char Kway Teow with your choice of ingredients. I've posted full menu pics to show you the range. If it's hot outside, come down here where the place is nice and air conditioned. I can't wait to return here. The place opens at 10.00am and closes by 4.00pm each day. Opens also on Saturdays 1200 - 0300pm This place has both cash and credit card /eftpos payment available. In March 2018, Ipoh started dinner trading opening until 8pm at night daily.

Been here a few times. Laksa is decent. The last time we were there we were served a murtabak in which the beef was off. Shame.
