Terrible terrible terrible. Please do not order from this company. My entire family became ill. I don't know what in the world they put in the chicken but that was by far the most disgusting meal EVER! That did NOT even resemble the taste of chicken. The filet has terrible gristle in it. The 100% money back requires you to repeatedly contact the company again and again. I am currently working with the BBB to obtain my refund. This company is NOT BBB accredited. Finally... The salesman accosted me in my driveway while carrying in my groceries. It was the middle of the day and a second salesman sat in the truck smoking a cigarette. My life felt jeopardized so I gave him what he wanted so they would leave. They said my neighbor purchased.... Absolutely run! Spent a ton of money on meat for our family - thinking it would be similar quality to other vendors I have purchased from in the past. Man was I wrong. Steaks are disgusting and shrimp is mushy. It's almost all just inedible. I don't know how these people are still in business. I tried to complain directly, but didn't accomplish anything. read more

Took elderly father n law for $50 last week came back yesterday drove him to the bank parked around corner...so he could walk to drive thru, as not to be seen and had him get $350 more out of his fixed income! I'll never a) buy from a door to door high pressure salesperson b) stop being frustrated about this crap c) neglect to do a google search before handing over money. I've purchased from Iowa Steak twice before- this review is concerning my third and final purchase. The steak itself is nothing to write home about, I'm just really susceptible to high pressure sales tactics unfortunately. It contains an unfortunate amount of solution which resulted in a lot of shrinkage when cooking. Andy sold me my second box of steaks about 6 months ago. He was friendly, if pushy, but that's half of how people make it in sales I guess. He stopped by on 5/26, I had about 30 people over for a party and told him it wasn't a good time. Even though he could see that I had a ton of people over he wouldn't get off of my doorstep until I gave him a date that I would be available. Sure, whatever. I told him I would be available on 5/29. On that date Ricky came by and proceeded to not take my budget seriously. I told him that I would be happy to take the one box of steak that I purchased last time for the same price. I told him that I wasn't able to spend another penny over that amount and that I would be able to purchase it on Friday if he would like to come back. He said that he could give me that price only if I paid cash, and if I spent another $100 he would throw in a free box of seafood. I told him no because I actually meant what I said about being on a budget. He then told me "tips are accepted so just add $10 to that" which I stupidly did. I basically was forced to tip this guy because I was a woman alone in my home with lots of children and it was scary. He said that instead of coming back on Friday he would take a post dated check. Stupidest thing I've ever agreed to. He cashed that check the same day, overdrawing my account. I called the local office and the corporate office to request that they pick up their meat and bring me a refund. The manager that I spoke to at the local office said that he would call me back within one hour because he would like to save me as a customer. 24 hours later I called him back because I had not received a callback- even though I provided my phone number. He said that he would be by on 6/4 or 6/5 to pick up the product and I would get a refund. On 6/4 I waited for a call with a narrowed time frame because surely someone would call before coming to your house and not expect you to just wait at home for two days straight for them to pick up something that was their screwup. Surely. Nope. I left a not so nice note telling them to leave my refund in the mailbox and call if they would like to pick up their product. They came by while I was out and did not leave a refund. I called and the guy said that one of his salesman was in a car accident the week before and that's why I didn't get a call or text within the promised timeframe and that he got my note so he didn't knock. They said that I would have to return the product first and then a refund would be mailed to me by their corporate office. I drove their product 20 miles to the office listed on this Yelp listing, dropped it off, and got a receipt for my return. I have not received a refund or any timeframe for a refund. I'm so pissed at myself and this company. I'll update this review when I receive a refund. It's not looking likely from the extensive research I've been doing since this nightmare began. In conclusion, just buy your steak from a store and skip the nightmare. read more

Tried some that a friend had bought. Spit it out so fast, it tasted rotten. I couldn't eat steak for weeks because of the horrible memory. The whole batch of meat apparently was rotten or just tasted that way and the company will not issue a refund. Keep saying they will but it's been months. Better Business Bureau will be informed. read more

cant even explain how bad this product is.....big fat lie coming to me door selling us this crap. Tastes like urine flavored bubble gum. Big piece of grizzle the size of a quarter all the way thru the middle of a FILLET!!! Cancelled the check told them come pick up you product. Said he eats it every day and i said your full of it no way that stuff is nasty nasty nasty.I told him if i would of cooked it before i bought it we would not be in this situation because i would of sent them on their way. I just had a salesman come to our door telling me he had a great deal on meat as he had just finished his last delivery and had some extras. My husband is a salesman so I listened to his pitch and purchased a case. He wanted a check made out in his name and said that it would go to the company. He said it would come to $3 per steak and there was no tax or delivery fees. On unpacking the meat I noticed that 2 of the cases had 7 pieces instead of 8 as stated on the case label and on calculating the cost it was $5 per steak not the $3 he said it would be. We haven't tried any go the meat but i will never purchase from this company again nor will I recommend it to anyone else. I am disappointed in the experience and I should have exercised the "buyer beware" policy. read more

I disputed the charge and got a full refund from my credit card company as they did not contest it. They know they're scam artist selling an inferior product. My dogs don't complain though. I cooked it up for them. The guy compared it to Omaha steaks, which is really a joke. Unfortunately it's not a funny one. I guess it was a live and learn experience all around. read more

So I get a knock at the door from a very excitable young man that tells me he has some really good deals on steaks so I go ahead and ask what kind of cuts he has. He then runs off to his meat truck and brings over a box of steak and some other stuff to show me but I was only interested in the steaks. I finally see the cuts I like but he tells me that I would get a better deal if I bought the whole pack. It was a variety pack and certain cuts I didn't care for. I was feeling generous that day so went ahead and bought the pack of steaks. The steak was pretty good at a fair price. The salesman was fairly pleasant so all in all not a bad deal. read more

I had a gentlemen come to the door 12/22/15 and sell me a ton of meat, chicken, seafood, and pork. I made 4 filets for a dinner party and they were not up to par for a fiet by any means. The sales person said that I "should" not thaw them and cook them frozen as they are flash frozen so it "works" best and to look on line for recipes...which I did and found NOTHING to help guide me on timing. I called them within 3 days for a FREE refund. It took them till 1/4/16 to get the meet. I was given a reciept for a refund and as of 2/23/16 I did not recieve anything so I called, spoke with someone very nice but he never followed up then called again on 3/2/16 and was told they would call me back at the end of the day-not done! So called 3/3/16 and was told this was in the president of the companies hands and he would have a decision back to me at the end of the day. I have the receipt of purchase and pick up--what is their to decide? I am waiting for $1,260.41. I am clearly very disappointed with the customer service and the product read more
