They ran new POE wires from one end of the house to the other, through the attic, and found great solutions for going to some really tough spots. I also had them run new POE wires to the second floor ceiling to install a UniFi AP, and had them run 4 new ethernet drops to some very difficult places in the house. I was very impressed by their great communication before, during, and after the work. They gave me a very reasonable quote and though it took all day to get the work done, they stuck to their quote. And I'm very impressed by their finished quality of their work. All cameras work perfectly, the AP works perfectly, and the new network jacks work perfectly as well. Greg is quite the find…read more Our Honeywell alarm system was no longer able to charge the back-up batteries. We scoured support forums, YouTube videos, and called multiple providers asking for support. No dice. Enter Sure Lock Homes and Greg. Greg has been installing and servicing alarm systems his entire career. He is no non-sense, methodical, and carries many parts with him. After ruling out power and fuse issues, Greg narrowed it down to our system's motherboard. An old transformer had unknowingly fried the board. Greg replaced it and reprogrammed the new board to match the old one. He also painstakingly tested each glass break and smoke detector connected to the system. All in all, this took about three hours which Greg worked steadily throughout. If you need service work on your alarm system, Greg is your guy.

I bid this out and Brian (owner) was the only one that really took the time to come and look at the site and understand our concerns. He literally spend several hours explaining the systems, taking measurements, and just getting to know each other at our house before making an initial quote. I feel that buying a high end product, that it should come with a high touch service and Brian delivered on that. Brian was super knowledgeable and super patient in educating me and answering many many emails, volunteering good recommendations and breaking my incorrect DIY opinions of what home automation should be. I am a strong DIY guy and I threw a lot of technical questions at Brian. He spent a lot of time steering me in the right direction, and this is all before I gave him the business. We iterated on things for quite a few weeks. The other guys I talked to pretty much followed what I thought I wanted and really did not give much feedback even though it may not be the best thing for me to do. (i.e. I already have a consumer grade Lutron Caseta system in place , but the right solution for my wants is to go with a higher end Lutron system). The depth of technical knowledge about the product was just not there with these other guys. I got one other guy to quote the configuration Brian came up with, as I did not like their configurations. In the end I went with Audio Video Evolution. Some reasons 1) I got to know Brian in the process and I feel he is an open and honest guy. Just based on this I wanted to give him the business. 2) He is technically very knowledgeable and listens. 3) He was willing to price match which surprised me given the superior service he gave me presales. Brian's crew was awesome with the install. Very professional. You can tell this is a high functioning crew. They took their time to get things right, yet got the job done in a timely manner. The install looks gorgeous. BTW - Audio Video Evolution is on the recommended dealers list on Lutron's website. The most difficult part about the whole experience was waiting 10 weeks for the factory to make the Palladium shades and writing the check to pay for them. But in the end I am very happy working with Brian and would highly recommend them if you have any high end AV and shade work needed to get done.

I got to know Brian (owner) and his team (Anthony, Carlos, Rod, Chris, Justin and Logan) quite well over the course of a few weeks - and their service was 5-star all around. Professional and friendly. Additionally, Brian brought in 54 Electric (owned by John Pfieffer), who solved some very complicated electrical issues with grace - and they, too, were incredible. More Info on the Projects: We purchased our home and knew there some electrical issues we needed to sort out, as well as some AV stuff we wanted to potentially upgrade. - Electrical: We quickly found out that there were 3 different systems running outlets and light switches throughout the house - and they weren't communicating with one another. And as a result, many outlets simply did not work. And, not to mention, there were many hazardous and non-functional cables throughout the house. Solve: Installed a Lutron lighting system throughout the home - and addressed cable hazards. - AV/Theater: We had an outdated theater, as well as a multi-speaker home system that wasn't functional. Solve: Installed a new projector, screen and speaker system in the theater, as well as fixed the existing multi-speaker system throughout the house. Also, created an AV tower to hold all the different receivers/systems in a closet space. - Shades: We were looking to replace the existing shades in our home and were considering electric shades, but got a few bids that were super high. We were surprised that Brian was actually an expert when it came to electric shades - and gave us a much more affordable price estimate. Solve: Installed Lutron shades in various rooms throughout the house. - Control 4 System: With all the above, Brian installed a Control 4 System to operate it all from one place, including our lights, theater, shades, multi-speakers throughout the home, entry gate, thermostat and security cameras. We thought, yeah, this could be pretty useful at times, but we literally use it everyday and it's a complete game-changer when it comes to convenience. Price: We bid this project out to 4 companies. Two companies came in super high - and one was comparable to Audio Visual Evolution. But, we ended up going with who we felt most comfortable with and couldn't be happier with that choice. Overall: After several months, we're highly satisfied with everything. We've had a couple of small technical things that we weren't tech savvy enough to figure out - and Brian and his crew were super responsive and helpful - and didn't hesitate to come out to take a look or assist. 5-Star Service.

I had my detailed estimates a few hours later. I made my decision pretty soon after that. Chris had wanted to set up the installations on the same day. While this would certainly have been easier for them, it was raining out and I knew my wife would be anxious with them coming in and out during the rain. They were very understanding and came out for my home at the first sign of clear weather. On both installs, they were quick, professional, knowledgeable, polite, and most importantly to my wife, VERY clean. They also took the time to explain every little thing about the system to us both. Most recently our fire alarms starting going off while our back door was open. The reading on the alarm panel said "fault" back door. This lead me to believe that the alarm system was going off. It took me a minute to get a hold of someone who was adamant that it was my fire alarm system. Unfortunately this conversation was going on in front of the alarm display which read "fault" causing me not to believe the person on the phone. Why would a system that is correctly disengaged say "fault"? Come to find out it was my fire alarm system but had the display read correctly I would never have even tried to get a hold of the alarm company. I was severely berated and criticized for not knowing the name of the person I was talking with. I was told that I would receive correct phone numbers and operating info the next day as according to the very angry gentleman on the phone I had screwed everything up. I have yet to receive any info. I very kindly apologized for being insistent they were at fault even though that is EXACTLY what their display said. Currently we are remodeling and having to leave open windows that are supposedly hooked up to the alarm system, not triggering the system when they are wide open and not being bypassed by anyone in the house. At this point I am scared to call them and I don't know the right number anyway and I might get someone's name wrong. I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

He took the time to carefully plan the optimal equipment placement throughout our house, and the entire project moved quickly and efficiently. The installation team was excellent as well. They were respectful of our home, kept everything tidy at the end of each day, and patched and painted the wall holes from the installation. They were also incredibly quiet and unobtrusive. There were times we practically forgot they were even working in the house. Once everything was finished, Aleksandr walked us through the system and made sure we understood how to use everything.
