We stopped by Inverness yesterday to enjoy the great weather and some lunch. I've come here quite a few times in the past and usually enjoy the great scenery and ample seating areas. This particular day, it was quite busy and unfortunately, there were more children here than there were adults. I get it, there's not much to do out in these parts and for the parents, I'm sure the prospect of setting up a picnic and letting their kids run around the lawn is a big pro. However, it becomes a BIG con for me as a childless person just trying to enjoy myself when there's a cacophony of children screaming, babies being changed on the table in front of me, kids running around unattended, and just general chaos. I don't know how it became so normalized for breweries, where there's alcohol being consumed, to become playgrounds for small children but here we are. My recommendation would be to provide a "child-free" section. The place is absolutely enormous so it wouldn't be hard. Perhaps the "stable bar" area and the lawn in front of it could serve as this child free area. Or maybe there's specific days of the week or certain times of day children aren't allowed? Beyond this complaint, I was pleased to see the food truck menu way more expanded than the last time I was here. They even offer gluten free pizza now! It was pretty good too. I enjoyed the grapefruit seltzer which came canned and loved the mango seltzer slushie. My boyfriend liked his pilsner and hefeweizen, too. Service from one of the bartenders was curt and standoffish - she seemed extremely stressed to be pouring beer and rolled her eyes or scoffed at any request for a sample. Other bartenders were holding it down and keeping their cool though -- she could learn a thing or two from her coworkers.

This is such a cool spot located on a beautiful farm. The staff here were very friendly and we enjoyed the beers we tried. The prices were also very reasonable with a few of the beers on special for $4. They have food with multiple options available. We tried their brisket dog which was delicious with a nice, slight kick of spice. The fries were nice and crisp, but could have used more seasoning in my opinion. There was a lot of outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. It was a bit warm for my preference, but they had a large fan that I found a seat near, so that helped. There was live music which is always great. Not my preferred genre, but still nice for the overall ambience. Overall, I loved the vibe of this spot and I can't wait to go back in the fall when temperatures are cooler!

First time here and it was pretty busy, typical for a weekend. They have multiple areas for seating, indoors and outdoors. They have a food truck in between the two buildings. Once you place your order they will text you when to pick it up so you don't have to wait outside for it. The pizza was really good! You can order drinks in the main tap room or in the seating area near the parking lot.

Great hidden gem in the middle of open country and back roads. To find a local brewery that offers an immense option of food on site is rare. Not only that, but to find it on a special oyster occasion is even better. Fast and convenient service with cash or credit options available. Several beers on tap for any taste. Seating and tables on a picturesque November afternoon.

Great beer, comfortable and rustic seating, good food and meeting with friends while enjoying live music is why we keep going back to Inverness. They have indoor and outdoor seating for all seasons and it's especially nice in spring and summer when you can play on the lawn or some bocce ball. The food is simple and delicious. The drive up to Inverness from the Baltimore area is scenic and relaxing. It's all win win.

I have been coming to Inverness for years, especially during the pandemic because it was a fun outdoor space. They have done a great job at making this brewery so fun for everyone. Expansive parking, lots of food trucks (even with veggie options,) live music, lawn games, lots of seating. I love sitting in the old stables. The garden area behind the second building is so serene as well. You never have to wait long for a drink either.

My first time to this brewery out in northern county and it is a beautiful place! The green pastures and fairy lights of the venue are very appealing and peaceful. My experience with the beer (that's what I'm here for!) was good, not great. I chose a flight and was hoping to have some red or amber ale options, but they had none. I picked a smoked lager which was very light in color, yet heavy on the liquid smoke flavor. The pineapple sour was just okay. The two IPAs on the flight board were decent. I'd give this place five stars for ambiance and friendly staff, but there are a few more breweries in this area with better tasting beer to choose from. I had heard such good things about this brewery, but the main draw (BEER) just wasn't that good.

Spectacular property with ample seating and several different bars. I really enjoyed my visit here but only had a couple beers. There is a food truck on site but I did not order from it. There was plenty of parking and the bartender we had was friendly and efficient. I highly recommend paying them a visit.

A super cute way to spend a day outside of Baltimore! This place is huge and has tons of seating all over. They have fun activities like bocce ball, volleyball nets, cornhole, and sometimes a live band. The beers were great, I also tried both of their boozy slushies - egg custard and blueberries&cream. They were both delicious, and I think they rotate out the flavors every week or so! Also, they have a little food stand/truck in the middle with a wide variety of snacks and meals. We tried the pretzels, and they were decent.

Our quest for MD beers continued after a long hiatus. Trekked up to Monkton at the recommendation of friends. Gosh it's beautiful up here. It's such a lovely spot. Active farm. Cows! Very family friendly. There is tons of open space and bringing your own chairs is cool. They have corn hole boards and bocce ball. There are multiple bars so don't worry about a wait. Great food options! Got pizza and it came out earlier than expected. Thin and crispy. So many beer options! And plenty of sours for me. Totally worth the drive from AA county.

Really enjoyed our evening at Inverness! They have a huge selection of craft beers, and a food truck with tons of options ranging from brick oven pizzas to crab pretzels, sandwiches, seasonal desserts and more. On a fall Friday night, Inverness was the perfect place to hang out and listen to live music enjoying the beautiful crisp weather. With bocce ball courts, cornhole, and live music, this is the perfect place to come with friends and family to enjoy some local beer and food! Pro-tips: -While there is ample seating around and inside the barn, many people bring their own chairs and sit on the spacious lawn! -There will likely be a line to order food and a 30+ minute wait. -Get the There's Always One IPA!

Ask the Community - Inverness Brewing

    Good in cold weather?

Yes! They are great year round

Do they have food suitable for vegetarians?

They have a food truck. It is pretty basic food, but there are some vegetarian options. They have a pretty good Bavarian soft pretzel and nachos that I'm sure you can get with just cheese and salsa. It is really just stuff to knosh while drinking…

Do they sell any nonalcoholic drinks?

Yes, they have a food truck with sodas.

The building itself is beautiful, and the indoor space is well designed with a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to learn that the playground and sand pit had been removed because, as we were told, parents were not adequately supervising their children. That was a major reason we chose this location, so it was disappointing. Another concern was the outdoor patio area, which is immediately adjacent to a steep drop-off. With young children running around, it made it difficult to relax, and we noticed that many parents weren't closely supervising their kids. Thankfully, I had brought some toys to help keep my children occupied, but the outdoor space didn't feel particularly family-friendly. If you're looking for a place to meet friends, enjoy a drink, and relax with other adults, this would be a great choice. However, if you're specifically looking for a kid-friendly destination, it no longer met our expectations.

Of special note, on usually the last Thursday of the month, they host a great live music showcase featuring original songwriters, which makes for such a fun, laid-back evening. What really sets this place apart is how well it adapts year-round. In the winter, everything closes up cozy and heated, and when the weather's nice, they roll up the garage doors on the taproom to let the fresh air in. Out back, there's a spacious outdoor party venue plus the taproom and another group area available for private gatherings. The staff are always friendly and happy to give great recommendations for similar beers, and they'll even let you try a sample before you commit to a full or even a half pour. One of my favorite beers is Into the Limelight, but it is on rotation as they usually switch up what's on tap fairly often. It's also incredibly family-friendly. Kids can say hi to the farm animals, and in the fall there's a corn maze and various other seasonal activities. There's even a small playground onsite. Great music, great atmosphere, and something for everyone in the family. Highly recommend checking it out!
