A whole group of us came on a Saturday at 2PM. For a Saturday in July, it was not busy at all! I guess the nightlife gets busier. The weather was beautiful. Sunny, breezy. In the barn portion, a real nice breeze kept coming through. I believe there are two bars and one food station. I ended up using only the bar in the barn as it was more convenient. Very quick service. I can't get over how the bar literally MOVES. It gave me a little motion sickness just looking at it. I feel like it's trippy, especially for those who choose to drink. They have a fridge with nonalcoholic drinks. Sprite, coke, Diet Coke, sugar cane orange soda, sugar cane black cherry soda, etc... It was not difficult to find a table at all. There were big round tables that could fit 8-10, long rectangular tables that could fit 8, and smaller tables that fit a couple. You cannot bring outdoor food or drinks! However, we talked to staff and our small cake was okay because it was a sweet. Food was better than I expected. I truly expected mediocre bar food. We ordered online but expected them to text or call when it was ready. We waited for over 30 minutes.. probably because we got caught chatting with family. No call or text. But when we explained the situation, the food was ready and it was HOT! Rayroni pizza 7/10: I wish it were a bit spicier with the hot honey but it was definitely sweet and delicious Cheesesteak egg rolls with chipotle sauce 10/10: If you only buy one thing from this place, let it be this! So crispy and crunchy. Perfect snack !! Pretzel bites with mustard and cheese 8/10: Mustard was meh but maybe that's because I'm not a mustard fan. Cheese didn't taste cheap and had a decent color. Like it wasn't a bright yellow or orange that was suspicious or anything. The pretzel bites themselves weren't too hard or soft. Last but not least, the sugar cane sodas were okay. I feel like they didn't have as much fizziness as your normal sprite or coke. I would absolutely come here again. Good vibes. It didn't leave me feeling hot and sweaty like a club. This is a beautiful property and great spot to hang out. I had a pineapple cheesecake sour and an orange slushie during my visit. Both were really good! Only weird thing about the bar was the bartender seemed kind of annoyed at everyone. We were able to grab a table and chairs outside but this is a good spot to bring chairs and a blanket just in case you can't find seats. There are rules about no outside food, no dogs, and keeping kids close - so it's a good idea to make sure you know all of this before visiting! read more

It was a very enjoyable and beautiful (but hot) Sunday afternoon with a slight breeze and a perfect day to spend on this huge property with its large selection of beers on tap and incredible food options. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Good beers we sampled were the nitro stout, DIPA, champagne, and hazy IPA, which tasted better after I added a tad of the DIPA. We ate a hamburger and a delicious top grade beef hotdog. Other food options included chicken, pizza, tacos, French fries popcorn and snacks. The location is so vast that it makes an excellent destination for families with children. Children can.run across the fields and adults can try their luck on the bocce ball courts. read more

We stopped by Inverness yesterday to enjoy the great weather and some lunch. I've come here quite a few times in the past and usually enjoy the great scenery and ample seating areas. This particular day, it was quite busy and unfortunately, there were more children here than there were adults. I get it, there's not much to do out in these parts and for the parents, I'm sure the prospect of setting up a picnic and letting their kids run around the lawn is a big pro. However, it becomes a BIG con for me as a childless person just trying to enjoy myself when there's a cacophony of children screaming, babies being changed on the table in front of me, kids running around unattended, and just general chaos. I don't know how it became so normalized for breweries, where there's alcohol being consumed, to become playgrounds for small children but here we are. My recommendation would be to provide a "child-free" section. The place is absolutely enormous so it wouldn't be hard. Perhaps the "stable bar" area and the lawn in front of it could serve as this child free area. Or maybe there's specific days of the week or certain times of day children aren't allowed? Beyond this complaint, I was pleased to see the food truck menu way more expanded than the last time I was here. They even offer gluten free pizza now! It was pretty good too. I enjoyed the grapefruit seltzer which came canned and loved the mango seltzer slushie. My boyfriend liked his pilsner and hefeweizen, too. Service from one of the bartenders was curt and standoffish - she seemed extremely stressed to be pouring beer and rolled her eyes or scoffed at any request for a sample. This is such a cool spot located on a beautiful farm. The staff here were very friendly and we enjoyed the beers we tried. The prices were also very reasonable with a few of the beers on special for $4. They have food with multiple options available. We tried their brisket dog which was delicious with a nice, slight kick of spice. The fries were nice and crisp, but could have used more seasoning in my opinion. There was a lot of outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. It was a bit warm for my preference, but they had a large fan that I found a seat near, so that helped. There was live music which is always great. Not my preferred genre, but still nice for the overall ambience. We have been coming to Inverness for years and always enjoyed the beer, food and service. That has recently changed, unfortunately. There is a female bartender who has been very unpleasant and rude the past few times, which really detracts from the experience. Looks like many people have had similar experiences and nothing has changed. Definitely need to work that out or they will continue to lose loyal customers. read more

First time here and it was pretty busy, typical for a weekend. They have multiple areas for seating, indoors and outdoors. They have a food truck in between the two buildings. Once you place your order they will text you when to pick it up so you don't have to wait outside for it. The pizza was really good! My first time to this brewery out in northern county and it is a beautiful place! The green pastures and fairy lights of the venue are very appealing and peaceful. My experience with the beer (that's what I'm here for!) was good, not great. I chose a flight and was hoping to have some red or amber ale options, but they had none. I picked a smoked lager which was very light in color, yet heavy on the liquid smoke flavor. The pineapple sour was just okay. The two IPAs on the flight board were decent. I'd give this place five stars for ambiance and friendly staff, but there are a few more breweries in this area with better tasting beer to choose from. Our quest for MD beers continued after a long hiatus. Trekked up to Monkton at the recommendation of friends. Gosh it's beautiful up here. It's such a lovely spot. Active farm. Cows! Very family friendly. There is tons of open space and bringing your own chairs is cool. They have corn hole boards and bocce ball. There are multiple bars so don't worry about a wait. Back in the day, we visited Inverness while on a brewery tour of the area, and I realized I never reviewed. Compared to breweries in the area, they weren't our favorite experience, but solid middle ground-average brewery- Arriving was a bit complicated, the farmhouse is big and obvious, but the drive up, lacked signage at the time of our visit, and we worried we were going down a long road to nowhere- inside there was ample parking & beautiful buildings with lots of seating available. The taproom, open barn, has lots of tables, tvs, live music at the time of our visit and alternative upstairs seating- the ambiance was very loud, touristy bar, everyone is here because it's hip-compared to neighborhood bar welcoming- They had a varied list of beers, appeasing to the masses with ample choices-but from my untappd history, I wasn't impressed with the beer- while some IPAs had a nice crisp haze, others were too earthy, too dank- We haven't been back in awhile, hence never realizing my review was so outdated, and we don't have any Inverness cans in our fridge, so I can't say I'd recommend, but I do recall the big barn visit- and if that's your party style vibe, check them out! read more

What a beautiful place. This is my second trip. For the first trip, we came to enjoy with friends. The place was empty then, but today there are plenty of people and I see this place can handle large parties. 3 bars are open including a little beer truck and each feels welcoming. Beers are tasty and range $6-$8+, and I see something for everyone, sours, lagers, seltzers, porters and more, oh my! (Wizard of Oz joke there...) Finally figured out where this is and had a chance to visit. Pleasantly surprised. Note that as of this writing, they still have not been allowed to post signage, so it's easy to miss. I was born and raised on a farm in rural Indiana where we had pastures of cattle, horses, and other livestock roaming around while you enjoy the easier things in life... good beer... good food... and good people. Inverness has something for everyone. When you pull in through the main drive, there's clear signage where to park with ample parking. Immediately as you get out of your vehicle, there are multiple options for you. You can go to one unique barn bar, keep walking to the food truck, play some cornhole, walk to the other unique barn bar, or go to the basement of the barn and enjoy time down under. We brought someone else along this trip to show them the Inverness experience. They loved it. They're more-so a city person who doesn't get to see cattle and livestock everyday. We went into the main large barn, got a beer - of which they have a nice selection - to then walk outside in the drizzling rain and watch cattle, peacefully. Food - This. Is. A. Brewery! ..... Food is not this locations absolute specialty but it definitely hits the spot! We ordered a couple pizzas to share between the three of us and were not disappointed. Very yummy! Although, we have been here only on two occasions but have been warmed that if you are coming on a very busy and beautiful day, fill up on food before you arrive because the food truck is slammed with people and the only food option there. Beer! - The beer selection is great for a smaller local brewery. I had both the "OG Dunstig (Weizenbock)", and "Lot 54", a lighter pilsner that appeared to be newer. Both were absolutely delicious. The drive from Baltimore/Towson isn't bad. Maybe 25 minutes in the rain or if you hit some form of slow down on the way up. Super scenic and peaceful. I visited Inverness for the first time recently and had a great time. Overall the beers were great; the food from the food truck was delicious, but was expensive. The place is beautiful and had a good atmosphere. They had music in the main bar area, but I wish they had it in a more central location. There is plenty of open space for families (we went with our 3 kids). There were many signs discouraging coolers and bringing outside food (signs indicate that there is food for all ages). I personally found it difficult to find good for my kids (2 of them are babies - 9 month old twins). I did not see any appropriate food for 9 month olds: fruits, apple sauce, pouches, etc. I did bring food for them, but it was in fact in a cooler that I couldn't bring in. It would be nice if they could work around that with babies. Other than that, it was a beautiful place with great beer and an excellent atmosphere. I would love to return! read more

Awesome spot! You can bring your own chairs and stake out a spot on the grass for the afternoon. We did not being chairs, but snagged a small table near the live music. There are also picnic tables near the downstairs bar. The band was great, the Hefeweizen I tried was yummy, and you can't beat the beautiful view! We didn't check out the food truck, but certainly would next time. If I lived in the area, I could see myself spending all of my weekends here in warm weather. read more

This place is a damn near perfect brewery. The atmosphere, scenery, seating space, game options, service, and BEER was all topnotch. The parking lot was in front of a long shed structure that is separate from the brewpub. This structure had cute seating outside of it. There was also a huge grass area for picnicking. There was a corn hole table set up in this area. As we continued along a walkway toward the barn which housed the brewpub, we passed a food truck that served nachos, soft pretzels and sandwiches. They also had small bags of chips for $1, which helped counter the drunkenness. The barn itself was amazing. It was clearly updated with extreme detail. The chandelier in the center of the barn is extravagant. There are several beer hall tables, and a large round table towards the center. There is a huge shuffle board to the left. Next to that toward the front is a section with crafts and artisan apparel and accessories. There is a second level loft with more seats and tables. To the right on the first level is the bar serving up some really good beer. Their IPAs were very good. The DIPA was also super tasty. The porter was one of their best beers for sure. The bar counter hangs from metal rods. So, when you start to notice that the bar is moving and that you may have had too much to drink, it's really moving, so you can keep drinking. They had some delicious dried sausage and other treats at the bar. They had a box of old bay toffee, which we bought and devoured. It was delicious. The lower level is gorgeous, with tons of more long high tops tables and bench. There is an outdoor area with a fire pit. There looked like there was another bar downstairs but it was not opened. There bathrooms are also on the lower level and are well kept. I absolutely loved this place. We hung out here for hours. We had drinks inside, outside, downstairs, and took beer to go. The scenery was awesome. There is a giant beautiful facing the front of the barn about 1000 feet away. It really makes the backdrop that much nicer. Cant wait to come back! read more

We visited Inverness Brewing for a friend's birthday recently and had a great time. The brewery is a bit of a hike from Baltimore, but it's worth it because the property is so special. This brewery is huge - with barns and lots of places to enjoy their beers. And some great views. If one area of the brewery is busy, you can check out one of the other areas. (Since the property is a little spread out and there are many areas with bars, I do wish there was more information when you get there explaining your options - on our first visit, we really had no idea where to go!) Since it was a hot day, we set up in a big barn and hung out there for a few hours; the bar in the barn never had a very long wait for beers. There is a food truck kitchen that was serving up BBQ, so there is food as well. I tried a few sours while I was there, and they were good and creative (one was a strawberry rhubarb). It's a great place to spend a few hours, enjoy some beers, and get out of the city. I'd happily return. read more

While you are busy people watching, there are the horses walking in the pasture, or the beautiful scenery surrounding this property. Inverness has a beautiful and unique venue for a brewery. There are so many spaces to hang out in, either outdoors, a spacious patio with fire pit, the lofty interior of an old barn, the dark corners of the basement.....the amount of seating options is truly amazing! I do wish they had more fans/AC for these hot Maryland summers. The beer is good, but I would mostly come here for the venue itself. Live music on the weekends! There's a food truck for dining, and unfortunately there's no outside food allowed, which I think is a miss. Overall, I would definitely come back. read more
