The salon was the dirtiest salon I have ever been to, cluttered and looked liked the floor hadnt been mopped in months. screwed up waxing my eyebrows and gave me the "service" for free. for just the roots and about 15-20 foils the bill came to $120 with the free haircut. She claims she gave me over $300 in services. Have a severe line of distinction, roots are barley lighter than my normal hair, and I dont even think she even touched the roots in the back of my head, called her 5 days after to see if she would fix and she told me that it was supposed to be that way, but if I wanted to pay her for additional services I could make an appt. Very poor customer service and no respect for client satisfaction. Learn from my mistake and stay very far away!!!

The ambiance is nasty and their individual stations are cluttered with junk and hair products that they don't even use on clients hair (just for show). 2. The employees are unprofessional and uneducated about hair in general. 3. They are only nice and warm if you are Dominican or they know you. All others will be the silent treatment or will be talked about in Spanish. 4. The lady who roller sets your hair will use a fine tooth comb to comb your hair into rollers no matter the texture, length or density. Makes for some breakage (that they'll burn away with the flat iron or blow dryer). 5. The heat on the hair dryer is on hell. 6. The heat on the blow dryer is on hell, part 2. 7. Then, they refry it with the flat iron (and that heat is on satan as the smoke lingers up into the air). You hair will smell burnt for the next few weeks or so. 8. You're basically paying for them to destroy your hair. YOU WILL LEAVE WITH HEAT DAMAGE and if not on the first go round, it will happen if you keep patronizing this place. 9. They don't do any real deep conditioning. 10. They don't have a clean bathroom. I mean, I could go on but this is the short of it all. I would recommend going to the Hair Gallery Salon in Southwedge instead. The atmosphere is WONDERFUL. You pay a little more but you're paying for people that speak English and can understand your needs/concerns, you're paying for a clean, neat and organized location, you're paying for getting the ACTUAL service you require, you're paying for GREAT service and professional people who will have you leaving their salon LIKING your hair and not smelling it in the car. The stylist in first station/chair on the right as you come into the salon (sorry I don't know her name) immediately greeted and showed me where to go for my shampoo and roller set after she asked what I wanted done. After my hair was dry, I was styled by the same lady that greeted me. Once she was done with my hair, I was very happy with my results because I'm very picky about how I get my hair styled. I only do wash & sets --- NO blowdry --- NO spray on heat protectant (makes my hair smell like a burnt curling iron) --- flatiron and then flat pincurls. My hair was very soft, full of body and I had tons of bounce back curls. If I lived in the area, I would definitely go back and become a frequent customer. Not to mention, their prices are really reasonable. CONS: 1. Please beware that this salon is a CASH only establishment but they do have an ATM on site (con because of surcharge). 2. The shampoo/roller set room is fairly small. You have to squeeze by customers if there's a crowd in the room. 3. While I was there, there were small children there. But as someone who knows how hard it is to find the perfect salon, I knew it was important to let the community know about a little salon in Fairport. I have had the worst luck with salons in the past. I've never stayed in one place for longer than five years as an adult. The closest I got to that was the salon I went to in middle school and high school, where my mom and sister went as well. But that ended ten days before my high school graduation, where my request to have my hair "just dusting my shoulders" resulted in a chin length blunt bob that poofed out when dry, making me look like a mushroom wearing a graduation cap. As I was stylistically challenged (and still am, to a good extent), you can imagine how well this worked out for me. I bounced around from one fancy salon to the next in college, coming home on breaks for haircuts and not having any idea how to maintain my new look. I started going to Cuts International a solid two years before I moved back to Rochester, and I'm proud to say that it's my longest salon relationship ever. Ever since I started seeing Amelia for my hair needs, I have walked away happy and confident that I can replicate what was done to me during the styling process. Amelia is very intuitive and knows what will work for me and what won't. Last year I decided I wanted highlights to camouflage the increasing number of gray hairs and she helped me pick out a color that would look good against my dark hair and would mask the grays as best we could. Instead of the traditional foil method, she used a plastic hat to pull small strands through to ensure a natural look. While this was going on, I looked just like Gollum, if Gollum were waiting to rinse out his new highlights. Everyone at the salon is friendly and enthusiastic about their clients and what they can do. Whenever I have an appointment, it's like walking into a family reunion or happy hour at Cheers. I've never once felt like a transaction here, and I have definitely felt that way at other salons. Cuts International is not only a family salon, but one that really takes the idea of family to heart. Finally, where else can you get a fancy salon quality cut and style for $26? I used to pay twice as much for other salons in the past and I'm never going to go back. You can try to entice me with fancy furniture and decor and the privilege of saying I go to your salon, but it won't work. I'm sticking with Cuts International, where I know I can maintain my new look with my meager styling skills.
