What made the situation even worse was that the way we were treated felt discriminatory and honestly racist. We came in respectful, calm, and simply asked for a correction to a paid service, yet we were treated as if we were dangerous for speaking up. Customers should be able to voice concerns without being stereotyped, dismissed, or escalated to the point of police involvement. The entire experience was humiliating, unprofessional, and upsetting. My frugality gets in the way of salon treatments, ask anyone. The first thing to know about Beyond Nails is that if you pay cash, you get coupons to put towards your next visit. And for a $30 pedicure, it's worth it to use the cash. On my last visit, I had a $5 off coupon from a previous visit available to me, resulting in a $25 regular pedicure. Can you beat that on most occasions? I usually can't. It's not just the convenience, the cash, and the sanitary procedures that would keep me coming back, it's that you get an amazing deal and a pleasant experience. I got my nails done here before my wedding and I absolutely loved the experience. I chose a regular pedicure, which always lasts forever, and gel manicure, knowing my tendencies to flake. During the pedicure, my legs were pampered with hot stones, completely included. Normally that's an add on, and here it's part of the regular pedicure. My gels lasted a few months too. This was one of the only times I didn't chip off my nail polish and my wedding nails lasted for a few months ultimately, with natural nail growth being the reason the polish eventually retreated. I made appointments on my recent visits, but things were spaced out enough that you could probably walk in without much incident. When choosing your polish, take note that some of the regular polishes do cost a little extra. Otherwise, the nail salon experience is one that you'd expect from a nail salon, as opposed to a place where things just seem hectic. Beyond Nails is a great choice for a spa-like day, and Twelve Corners is lucky to have them. Remember to bring cash!

First of all, the vibe is completely different. Waterlily is an old house that feels cozy and warm. All of their employees are so elegant and classy and have the utmost customer service at heart. They offer spa services, skin products from certain lines (can't say much about them as I haven't explored them really), and only Trish McEvoy and Laura Mercier make up. However, I love Laura Mercier, and a few Trish McEvoy items (on their suggestion) have become staples for me. I won't use this forum to talk about Laura Mercier, but it really is an excellent make up line. For me, I always like to try on new products or just test out some make up for fun when I go in to stock up on something I have run out of, and they are always happy to put something on me. Plus, every time I go, I learn a new technique of some sort. These ladies really know their stuff. It isn't like at Sephora where you get some high school girl who has only been using make up herself for like 2 years and may have managed to memorize a few key facts about the entire store since she's overwhelmed by the surplus of product lines and hasn't been around long enough to try 1/100 of them. The ladies that work at Waterlily are skilled make up artists and fans of make up. They have a strong knowledge of what works given your face structure, strengths and weaknesses, and how to apply the lines they sell. And they often have national make up artists come in. Oh, and also they keep a file on which products you ordered so if you wonder if this new shade will go with anything you have, they can just look it up and say "Yes, this will go perfectly with that cream shadow in x shade you bought" or if you come in for more concealer, but can't remember what color you are, they know. Very helpful! And some of them even remember my name! What store does that?? Recently, I've had a few issues with a certain product line and they are always good about returning or exchanging.
