Clearly, the people at TC NAIL BAR have either mistaken their business for an ACTUAL BAR, or should not be licensed to operate. DO NOT GO HERE!...not only were three of my fingers bleeding, the nails on my hands were totally different lengths, my cuticles were ripped and raw, and two of the nails were completely crooked. I knew they were rushing as they were doing it, and when I politely asked for them to fix them after or at least get my money back, they said no refunds. It's too bad for them because I get my nails done monthly and I would've been a very loyal customer to somebody who could get it right. Had a great manicure with dip with Sonny the other evening. I chose to go to Jenny Nails because they are one of the few salons that is open until 730 on weeknights. I arrived at 645 (with appointment) and Sonny stayed past the normal close time to ensure that it was the perfect manicure. This is my second time getting a gel manicure here. The first time all went well. This time everything seemed fine until 2 days later when my nails started to chip. I contacted them and they asked me to come in and I said I couldn't as I was on vacation (which is why I got my nails done). They also told me that they could tell if it chipped naturally or if I did it myself. I messaged multiple times asking what we could do to resolve the issue with no response. This was the second time that I visited Jenny's nails while in Rochester. Today I decided to just get my upper lip waxed and I thought they did a great job (I had recently painted my nails and did not feel like dropping the cash). My mom and sister, however, both got pedicures and they came out very nice. Overall, I thought the experience was fine. This nail salon is not the nicest atmosphere, but the staff is friendly and they have a lot of really great magazines to read while you get your nails done. There were three major issues that I had with the place when I visited on this particular occasion: 1) I came in to get my upper lip waxed and one of the technicians who was in the middle of taking care of another customer got up from taking care of her to wax my upper lip. That other woman was left with her feet soaking and waiting on her pedicure even though she was there first. 2) Two kids were running around the store and I believe they belonged to one of the technicians. Not a huge deal, but somewhat distracting, especially for the technician to whom the children belonged. 3) They do not spend that much time on the pedicure. Again, not a big deal, but if you want a nice, somewhat long, pampering session, this is not the place to go. Also, if your feet are not in the greatest shape, sometimes it takes a little longer. Final thought: I think this is a good place to go if you want to get your stuff done quickly and leave. They do a fine job and their prices are fairly reasonable (I only payed $5 for my upper lip wax and the pedicures were only $25!) I do not recommend this place if you want to feel like you are the nail technician's only customer, or you want to be pampered. read more

This hue really needed 3 coats in order to look decent, also the nail is supposed to be shiny and smooth after you apply the top coat, not in my case, I could see scratches all over my nails. This is definitely a no-frills salon and it is pretty typical of what you would think of a quick nail place, but I think overall they do a good job. I try to always get Danny (I believe one of the owners along with Kim). I have had a less-impressive job from other technicians so I always try to call and make an appointment ahead of time. Sometimes parking can be difficult especially with one of the more popular Starbucks in the area right next door- so I always tried to get the appointment done early in the day. A positive- if you are a regular, you can get a box of your own items and store them at the store- that's nice for the manicures and me personally who had gotten a lot of pink-and-white fills. Though I no longer live in Rochester, I would recommend someone going to visit Danny to get their nails done. read more

I came to Jenny Nail for a basic mani-pedi while visiting from out of town (Los Angeles). My manicurist (I believe she was the owner) was friendly and quick, and everything that mattered had been recently sanitized. She shaped my nails exactly as I asked her to, made my ragged cuticles look super neat, and after four days, a wedding, a cross-country flight, packing and unpacking multiple suitcases, the polish still looks fresh (and I'm a nail-biter AND a mom, so this NEVER happens). I'm serious--there's not a single chip. I'm not sure I agree with other reviewers who said the salon is "dirty," but it's definitely no-frills, and everything looks a bit run down. So I guess if you're a major germaphobe or you just prefer a little bit more of a luxe experience (brand new everything, bottled water/drinks, sanitized tools in sealed packets, disposable pedicure tubs, lengthy massages, tons and tons of color options, etc., etc.) this is probably not the salon for you. But look, at the end of the day, it's a no-frills mani-pedi for $40 that looks really great almost a week later. What more can you ask for? read more

The TC Nail Bar employees were appalling. They were rude to me and just didn't treat me like a customer. Beware!! They use glue ON your nails and it completely ripped/broke my natural nails. I had to go to a different nail salon so that someone can try to take these nails off of me, and even they couldn't. They refused to give me a refund after ruining my nails and would not even try to find a solution for it either. I'm so upset and I would give 0 stars if I could. I usually go to this place because it's close to home and I usually have limited time. Not sure why I do because 4 out of 5 times they do a super fast job, and i leave with my summer feet still looking dry and a mess. I will not be returning after my last experience. I got a pedicure from Jenny nails and the person who did the pedicure did not listen to what shape I asked for, and I was dissatisfied with that. But my main concern was that he cut the skin around my big toe and I started bleeding, and he didn't acknowledge it and carried on!! NEVER coming in here again. I went in for a fill. The male who did my nails was terrible. He had clammy sweaty hands first of all, probably not clean, and usually technicians take your hands and look at what they need to work on, but this guy just picked up my hand and started filing the gel topcoat off my nails. At one point he saw one finger was missing a nail and promptly said "I can't fix that" after he had already filed and cut my other nails. I told him to just use pink and white powder to make a new nail and he completely ignored me. I told him I didn't want to continue but he told me to stay in my chair. My white tips had a flair on them, he filed it off. I asked him not to and he ignored me again. At the end I told him I wasn't satisfied with the job he had done, and calmly asked if he could fix it or not make me pay full price and he called the police! I really disliked this place. First of all, the overwhelming chemical smell was so off putting. I have been to plenty of places who manage to make the air breathable! It looked like it hadn't been cleaned thoroughly or updated since 1980- none of the tools my manicurist used on me came from a sanitizer or even soapy water- who knows how many clients she used them on before me. I was so uncomfortable. Nothing was relaxing about the experience at all. The other employees were playing loud annoying games on their iPhones the whole time and the employee at the station next to me was video chatting loudly with her boyfriend and arguing with him! I would never go here again. $15 dollars for an un-enjoyable, not relaxing manicure is overpriced. read more

I usually get my gel dip nails done in my hometown but decided to go here when I was in Rochester for a week. I got a gel dip for $40. They sent me out before it had gelled (this has never happened at my regular salon and my manicures stay on completely until I get them removed 3-4 weeks later because my nails have grown out). My Jenny Nails manicure chipped on one nail within a week and the pieces of the polish kept coming off. A few days later it started happening on another nail. Seriously horrible. Appalling. Do your nails at home. Anything you can do is better than what they can do. I asked for a manicure without polish. The most basic of basic services. For $15 I got: dirty tools used on my fingers, dirty water to soak my fingers in, a dirty wrist guard to lean against, a manicurist with warts on their fingers, and nails that were not fully cleaned or filed. The only reason why I didn't make more of an issue and make them fix the issues was that I wanted to run out screaming as soon as possible. I have gone to this shop a number of times over the last few years for a fill and pedicure. The experience has generally been fine. Not great, but fine. It is definitely a "no frills" kind of place. They are technically proficient with acrylic/gel nails. The pedicure is all business, little pleasure. I went in to get a nail fixed and the owner, who seemed really grumpy, told me to sit down. He applied a nail extension and then before asking me the length cut it really short. Way shorter than the rest. He was really sloppy when applying the acrylic and put it way up past my cuticles. When he painted my nails he painted over the cuticles also and I politely asked if he could please clean the lines up. He took alcohol and asked for my hands. I said I didn't want the color removed, just fixed. I decided to give my hands and let him do what he wanted as he was scary grouchy. He rubbed the color all over my fingers and then promptly told me to leave the store. I was shocked to say the least and when he walked away from me after waving me out I went after him and asked why he was being so rude and that I wasn't being rude so why was he. I didn't understand his behavior nor his bad attitude in the face of clearly badly done service. I have always tipped his staff well when I've gone in and so this behavior was outrageous. He is a disgusting man and frankly it is a filthy establishment but around the corner and as I am newly back in the area I had not found anywhere else to go yet. I was not overly pleased with this salon. The prices were reasonable, but it was not a great atmosphere. The chairs were terrible, and the technician was very rough when trimming my cuticles. It was not a relaxing atmosphere or experience. Things seemed dirty and run down. If you want a relaxing and pampering experience, go somewhere else. Wow! Talk about LACK of customer service! I'm LONG time customer of Mias who I absolutely love. Went in today for gel nails. I had gel dips on that I got on vacation. They were a little difficult to remove. I planned on tipping her generously as she did a great job. At the end of service the male owner started talking loudly in Chinese at her while I was sitting right there. She then tells me she has to charge another 5 dollars to remove the nails. She didn't want to do it. I asked him to please speak English. He said don't worry were not talking about you. Went here last week, had mixed comments about this place.. The ambience is FAR from other salons I've gone to. Not the best furniture, the manicure stations, pedicure chairs, mediocre interior decorating, they all look second hand stuff. During our pedicure service, the gentleman was rushing to take on another customer (and we happen to come on a busy day), my daughter's paint job was hideous. The technician who serviced my gel-manicure looked a bit too young to be working, however her professional license was hung prominently behind her desk. Her work was very matriculate, she seemed to be the only individual that spoke perfect English, I also learned her nail art are as good as her manicure! For those of you who love Hello Kitty, she's you're go-to gal. Lastly I had my eyebrows waxed by a different technician, and immediately I noticed the woman did not wash her hands before we proceeded. Nor wore gloves either. What really made it disappointing is she double-dipped into the wax pot. That is the last time I try waxing here! In all honesty, this place isn't too shabby if you're looking to be in-and-out. I had a gift certificate for Jenny Nails that I received in 2014 that I went in to finally use after having misplaced if for some time. They refused to honor it at all. This was a paid-for gift certificate, not a coupon. I thought it was a law that GC's didn't expire for 5 years. Instead of offering me ANYTHING they preferred to have me take my business elsewhere even though it was a ghost town in there. I hadn't been there before and certainly will never go back. I have been going to Jenny Nails for 2 years. Yes, the ambiance is less "luxurious" than a few other salons, BUT the service has been overall top notch with market pricing. Busy days and they push clients through pretty fast; you'll get more attention if you go mid-week and avoid lunch hour. My nails always last 1.5-2x longer with their service and the staff is pleasant and accomodating. read more

He started yelling at me and said I would have to pay more for a polish change! Then he walked away from me and his staff along with the horrible manager ignored me! Do NOT go to this place. If I didn't have to give this any star rating to post this review, I wouldn't! The owner recently gave me a very sloppy gel French manicure. But much worse is that my daughter's forehead was badly burned during an eyebrow wax. They were horrible when we followed up after going to urgent care and asked them to reimburse us for the bill for that visit. The owner and a very rude young lady who was interpreting for him refused. With so many other nail salons in the area, I ask that you do not support this kind of terrible service, utter disregard for customers, and downright dangerous practices. If I weren't afraid of retaliation, I would most definitely have reported this incident to the Department of Health (you have to provide your name, address and phone number).
