I absolutely love coming to tape with Intrepid. I've been a few other places but none make it as easy, as fun, and as convenient. Ali and Boone who run the company are real actors, and great actors at that. They are fantastic to read with and I really trust their input. I was called in for a pilot off of one of their tapes and I'm even taping my character reel with them as well. They are game to help with everything and it's a $1 per minute so it's really up to you how much you end up paying. The first time I went I honestly couldn't wait to go back. Intrepid Tapes far exceeded my expectations. They are very accommodating and, unlike the self-tape place I'd gone to before, aren't rigid about how many files they'll send you. What sets Intrepid apart, I'd say, is that the people running it are in the acting world themselves. I needed to tape an audition for a network job for the same day, and in less than five minutes after visiting the intrepid site, I had selected a time and was set to go. Upon arriving at their location, Ali quickly set upon understanding the scene, giving me a 3 minute pep talk, and we began. She is a talented actor, who elevated my play with her own talent. Picture it: your agent calls at 4pm and needs a self tape audition for a nice guest star role on a major network show. She needs the tape that evening or first thing in the morning. Your usual acting partners or unavailable to help tape! Intrepid Tapes to the rescue! I made a same day appointment for 7pm, prepared my sides and made the drive to Hollywood. I even got to park in their lot. I walked in and met Boone. He's awesome and professional. I did two takes, spent $10, and got an email with the link in less than 30 minutes later. I forward it to my agent. We are all happy. Both Boone and Ali are in the industry so they get it. This service is fast, efficient, very affordable and convenient. I really like how they do the editing and uploading for you. You should really come prepared and know your stuff. They're not there to be your acting coach. I met Boone and Ali right when they started this business and I was immediately impressed. Now it's been a year an they've grown so much. I recommend them to all of my actor friends any time anyone asks about self taping. So what makes Intrepid the place to go for this sort of thing? First of all, customer service. These guys always make themselves available to serve you. If they're too busy with other costumer appointments, they'll find a way to accommodate you ASAP. Plus Boone and Ali are both super friendly and fun to work with but also very professional. Secondly, efficiency. You tape, they send your footage. It's that simple. Done and done faster than anywhere else I've seen. Thirdly, quality. They're studio is small but great for sound and has great lighting. The equipment they have is all great quality as well. So you can be assured that when you're sending in your self-taped audition, you're going to be one of the few with top of the line footage. Lastly, price. Yeah, sure, everyone wants to use their iPhones and Macs to make their own tapes because it's free. But I'm pretty sure just about anyone can afford Intrepid's prices, especially for the excellent quality and good experience that comes along with it! I will warn you that parking isn't great. They're located on LaBrea in a shopping plaza, right above an ice-cream shop and liquor store. The lot is small and has a valet during certain hours and some spots are hour or less. But there is street parking around the area as well. You won't be searching for a spot for hours but just be prepared and maybe give yourself extra time to park. read more
