So after having the WORST WORST WORST experience with The Creation Station Studios (please never go there) it made me Realize how amazing other taping places are around LA. Especially Intrepid who have never FORGOTTEN to send the tape to my manager. Then lied and said I didn't ask for it to be sent to my manager and that I had asked for it to only be sent to me (yes the CSS actually pretended that I only wanted the video sent to me and not my manager even though I literally paid almost double to send it to my manager on a Sunday) So thank you Intrepid tapes. Ali and Boone are life savers....literally. They save my ass every time I need a great self tape done. Keyword "great". The best thing about Intrepid is that they not only give you great lighting and allow you multiple takes, but they are great readers. And anyone who self tapes a lot knows that a great reader can make or break you. I also like that they are collaborative when they are working with you, so if they see something in how you are looking or if you stumble over a word or two, they'll definitely help you. My tape has usually been sent to me within the hour, I never have to wait to long to receive it. The one thing I hate about Intrepid, is how difficult it is sometimes to get into this place for an appointment. Especially during pilot season, sometimes they're booked a week out. But you can catch a cancellation here or there. What I would do if you know, you're going to be self taping a lot, book a time and then call if you need to reschedule. The pricing is the best I have ever seen as well. They don't change their prices for the weekends or holidays, like other studios. They may change their times, but not their pricing. I had a last minute audition I needed to send via EcoCast and found Intrepid Tapes online. Making an appointment and paying on their website was easy and I was sent several reminders of my appointment.. They were open on Saturday with a flexible schedule and very reasonable prices. Ali, one of the owners, arrived on time and even did some practice reads with me until I felt ready to tape! I paid $20 for 20 minutes. She gave me a couple of selections to send and had no problem with me having to start over a couple times. She's a great reader and since she is also an actress, she knows how to help you give your best performance and have fun. She also edited and had my files sent to me in less than an hour! I could go on and on about how much I love this place. I always recommend people self taping there. The staff is professional and know what their doing. Their feedback is spot on and I trust what they have to say. The staff is friendly and always attentive! My video quality always look so amazing. I have the perfect lighting, I am seen clearly and heard clearly. I feel safe in the space which helps me to deliver a great performance. The videos are always sent within the hour or so and if they are backed up they will let you know. What else is nice, the video is within the right downloadable size, so that I can easily upload my audition to Eco-Cast from my phone if I'm on the go. I don't have to rush to a computer. Pricing isn't bad at all which is so nice to the actor wallet. It is a dollar per minute with a minimum of 10. This is also available on their site, as well as their hours. You can book your session on the computer around. It's nice too that you don't have to wait long for your session. You begin once your session begins. On top of that the quality you get for the price is out of this world. You end up looking, and sounding amazing! The location is great right smack in the heart of Hollywood.
