Competent, professional, great customer service. Honest and reliable. Fair pricing. A pleasure to do business with.

I agree with the reviews here. We had InTown out this past year for a couple of things, additional lighting and troubleshooting for repairs that needed to be done. Tom is extremely knowledgeable and the office is great to coordinate with. Prices and quotes are detailed and fair on pricing. The work is organized and the entire team ensures everything is tidy before ending the service. Highly recommend and will use InTown again. read more

We chose InTown Electric to install an EV car charger in our garage, and I'm so glad we did! Another electrician had already informed us that our electrical capacity was maxed out, and told us we would need to have an additional line put in at a cost of many thousands of dollars. Tom at InTown also recognized the problem but came up with a creative solution that saved us thousands: He installed a simple unit that monitored our electrical usage and delayed deploying the charger until there was sufficient electricity available, which there is nightly. It solved the problem and everything works perfectly. read more

Tom and team did a wonderful job installing my new Tesla Wall Connector within a couple hours. They had to run the line from the southwest corner of my house (electrical panel in basement) to the northeast corner of the house (garage). They did a very clean job without any unnecessary openings in my finished basement. They were super professional and friendly, and thoroughly explained the work they did. Before they left, they made sure the connector was working properly and that I knew how to operate it. They also were very competitive on price. I highly recommend! read more

I needed to have some relatively minor electrical work done and I hired InTown Electric after getting a few estimates. Everything about this company is top-notch. Tom was punctual for his estimate and for the job. He recommended only what I really needed (which I very much appreciate), called me when he was done, and was completely professional throughout. Please don't think twice about hiring InTown Electric if you need work done. They really are superb. read more

Great company. They installed a very tricky globe chandelier in our dining room and it was a very cumbersome job...they were awesome. Great service, awesome job. Totally recommend. read more

We hired InTown Electric to do the electrical work for our townhouse rehab project eight years ago and were pleased with their performance and honesty. Then we recently got the itch to buy a stand-alone house and we hired InTown again. Same results: Dependable, professional, knowledgeable and honest. Workmanship is above par. The project, involved adding numerous outlets, switches, dimmers (and replacement of all the existing ones with new ones), can lights, power feeds for track lighting, and a whole house surge protector. The work was completed two weeks ago. Tom, the owner, is a straight shooter who knows his business and can offer you solid advice and his pricing is in line with other electrical contractors in the area. His bid identified all the aspects of the work and if there was any question, he clarified it clearly. Would I hire InTown Electric again? Absolutely. read more

Tom and his team just completed work at our house in Mount Prospect installing 6 new LED can lights and a new ceiling fan in our living room and two new LED can lights in our upstairs hallway. Every aspect of our experience with InTown was top notch. I requested an estimate via their website and got an almost immediate response offering to schedule a convenient date/time for Tom to come by and scope out the work we were hoping to have done. A couple days prior to our scheduled estimate I had to call to reschedule due to COVID concerns and Dawn was extremely understanding and happy to reschedule for a later date. Once we had our estimate rescheduled, Tom dropped by in the evening and patiently walked through the various aspects of the projects I had in mind. He was friendly, polite, wore a mask and booties without me needing to ask, and took the time to answer all of my questions. Within a couple of hours, he emailed me a detailed line-by-line estimate consistent with the work we had discussed. When we decided to go with InTown for the work, Dawn made it super easy to schedule a date and I received a text messages a day before the scheduled work to confirm the date and start time. Tom and his team arrived promptly at 8am and took good care to lay down drop cloths and talk us through their game plan to be sure they would be locating the new can lights and fans in the right locations. The project ended up throwing them quite a few curve balls (thick plaster walls, conduit/wires not where they were expecting), but Tom and his team used their experience to find a solution that got us to the desired result with minimal wall damage/need for wall patching. Tom and his team did a great job taking the necessary time to clean up once completing the project. And before leaving, Tom said to be sure to contact him if there was any aspect of the project that was not meeting our expectations. Overall, we're very pleased with InTown's professionalism, organization, communication, and work. I would, without hesitation, recommend InTown to anyone looking to have electric work done. read more

If you're looking for a reliable, professional and skilled electrician in the Chicagoland area, I highly recommend InTown Electric. Tom and Nick have been exceptional in all of the work they have done for me over the past 5+ years. They've done everything from hanging ceiling fans, installing can lighting and even rewiring an entertainment closet, and I couldn't be happier. I continue to recommend InTown Electric to all of my friends and family because I'm confident that Tom and Nick are the best choice in the area. So if you're looking for an electrician in the Chicago area, give these guys a call. They are honest, fair, and extremely skilled in what they do. We had Tom and his associate out to replace an entry foyer chandelier. We couldn't be happier! From the original contact for a quote to their work today, we found them to be very professional. We were able to handle the quote all over email/texting of photos and giving lighting specs. They were on time today; arrived wearing masks and using booties to protect shoes. They were clean, polite and personable. They did fantastic work and never rushed us in deciding positioning of the chandelier. Highly recommend them and will definitely use them again in the future! read more

I can't say enough about this company, it's owner, it's employees, and the work they perform. Five years ago open my first business and Tom came highly recommended. It was for a new build out medical and we were on a limited budget. Tom came in gave us a quote right quote and a few recommendations and it worked out better than expected. A few years later we needed a new light for the office and he put it in on schedule and below budget. Flash 4 to 5 years later and I'm opening a new business. Another medical off office but with a different layout in a different look. I consulted Tom from the beginning to determine what's the most efficient way we can be green and modern what having a medical book. He again gave me some recommendations and even took me to an another business that had device that I was looking for that he recommend it and it was exactly what I wanted. All my patients talk about how cool it is at all my lights are like censored, LED, dimmable, and soft. I'm happy to say that I've been open for a year now and I'm calling Tom again to add a couple more outlets, that he recommended from the beginning and I didn't take his advice, and again he gave me some better advice and we have booked the next job. My go to company for an commercial, residential, and medical electrical need. Sorry if any typos; using voice text. read more

Tom came out earlier this year and did some work installing outdoor electric and a second panel box. The work was great! Recently, I had issues with some indoor lights. I sent Tom an email asking him to come out to repair the issues. He sent me an email with 2-3 ideas on how to repair the issues which I tried and one of them worked - solving the issue I had quickly and without costing a penny! Will continue to bring my electric needs to InTown! read more

InTown was both responsive and helpful. They did not happen to have availability in my very tight timeframe, but went out of the way to provide great customer service and suggestions anyway. read more

I recently was looking for a local electrical company to do some panel work in my home. I requested a quote/availability on Yelp with In Town and received a response within an hour. We made arrangements for an appointment within the day. Nick came to do the job and was friendly, prompt, thorough, and explained everything that needed to be done. I would definitely consider In Town for future activities. read more

These guys were great! Competitive estimate, which they came out and did in person for free. They replaced a bunch of outlets and switches, some external lights, fixed a weird light switch, and installed two ceiling fans (including running wiring in attic). Both of the electricians we worked with were very nice, very professional, and kind to our very curious small children! They left everything working well and spotless. We will definitely call them in the future if we need electric work. read more

Best price. Great and timely service. Tom the owner was very helpful.

It's been a couple of weeks since Tom brought me light, and I'd be remiss if I didn't formally thank him and Dawn. I had reached out to three different providers, but InTown gave the most straighforward answers to my questions. Not to mention, the "hospitality" Dawn provided over the phone...I'm all about patience and detail in customer service. My appointment was set for early September, but I got a surprise call in mid-August offering a visit that day. Great! I hadn't had anyone in my home for many months (Covid fears), but Tom showed up in full protective gear. Financially, I was prepared for the "worst", but the final bill seemed like an illusion. Wow. Tom came in for one particular task, but listened to me, and provided so much more. I said my one disappointment was that he couldn't tune my piano. So...pardon the essay...I just hadn't expected to be this grateful, and wanted to share my appreciation. Again...thanks Tom and Dawn. SHINE ON read more

I had InTown Electric replace an existing bathroom fan that I had vented out through my roof. Unfortunately the bathroom fan was quite loud and seemed to be blowing air into the bathroom than sucking it out. Tom came back on a Saturday (a day they are normally closed) and discovered that the insulation contractors I had hired had cut corners when venting the fan through the roof such that the vent was plugged by insulation. After discovering this problem that was clearly not his fault, out of his own pocket, Tom went and bought new duct work to vent the fan properly. Even after I offered to pay for his additional services, he refused saying that all that was important was that we were happy with the work even if the problem wasn't his fault. In my experience, Tom is a man of commendable character and a business owner I respect. I would not hesitate to work with him and InTown electric again and would highly recommend them. read more

I have used Tom and his team at In Town several times for jobs at my business. They have always been completely professional, punctual, and ALWAYS over deliver. Rest assured, if you want quality work done by professionals, I would highly suggest In Town. Thanks Tom! read more

In Town remains 5 star all the way. I've since had them come do additional relatively small jobs, all excellent. Even better, they stand behind their work no matter what (I'm NOT meaning to imply they did poor work, sometimes things just fail). This is something you don't see every day anymore, but greatly appreciated as a customer. All this combined will keep me a LOYAL customer for all my electrical work. Thanks again, In Town. read more

I requested a quote for the installation of can lights in my kitchen, and Tom from InTown Electric was one of the first to come back with a quote. In addition, Tom actually provided a cost estimate without coming on scene, something others were not willing to do. Tom, and Nick, were a pleasure to work with from the very beginning. They made my small job feel like it was as important to them as it was to me. Not only was scheduling easy, Nick finished the install sooner than expected and below the quoted cost amount. Tom came by after the job for a quality inspection. I would highly recommend InTown Electric, and I will be calling them for all my future electrical needs. read more

We recently hired Nick to install recessed lighting throughout our home. We were so pleased with his work that we expanded the scope of our project and had him also install chandeliers, tv's, ceiling fans, light timers, outdoor lighting, etc. Nick's work helped transform our dated house to the home we always wanted. I highly recommend In Town Electric for quality professional work at a reasonable cost. I recently wanted to upgrade my 2 service panels and other various outlets and fixtures. This is my second time using In Town and I will definitely use them again if the need arises. They are very responsible and reliable. read more

We recently had a large job completed by InTown Electric in our home. Tom and his team were incredibly professional, friendly, prompt and courteous. They completed the two jobs very quickly and there were absolutely no hitches. No surprises in their quote either. I had a wall switch installed to control a ceiling light that did no have a switch as well having new wiring run to put a ceiling fan in and a wall switch to control the fan and its light. Tom came out and gave me the estimate and Nick came back to do the work; both are very professional. Nick showed up right on time and got right to work. He had to open a hole in the wall for switches and one in the ceiling for the fan, as well as needing to get up in the attic to run wires. The work was done quickly, everything works as it should and it was done very clean. After the work was done it was like everything had already been there and you would never know anyone was in our house doing work because Nick cleaned up great after the work was done. No chipping in the paint or wall around where to holes were made which amazed me (I assumed I would find something, but nothing was visible, it was perfect). After my experience with In Town Electric, I have no need to look anywhere else for electrical work; I highly recommend this company! read more

I highly recommend InTown Electric! My wife and I are redecorating our living and dining rooms. With the help and advice of our decorator, we decided to have some recessed lighting installed in our living room and hallway, and a wall-wash recessed light installed at the top of our stairs to highlight a piece of artwork. I decided to call InTown Electric based on the fantastic reviews they received from others. Tom responded very promptly to my email and within a few days met with us and our decorator. He was on time, extremely knowledgeable, professional, and overall likable. We loved his suggestions and decided to have him do the work. Tom and Nick came and completed our entire job, a lot of work, in one day. They are both friendly, professional, respectful, trustworthy, honest, and do superb work. Our living room, dining room and hallway lighting is absolutely beautiful...all on dimmers, wide angle halogen floods, wall-washer on our painting, etc. We should have had this done years ago. We cannot believe what this lighting did for our rooms. Our first step in the redecorating project a great success. I highly recommend Tom, Nick and InTown Electric 100%+, and we will be sure to have them back when we tackle our family room (hopefully over the winter time). Thanks guys for the great job! read more
