If you're coming during a sunny day or dinner on the weekend I would suggest coming early to get your name down or to avoid the wait. For Dinner on Friday ~6PM there was a 45 min wait. No worries since they will take your name down and just text you when your table is ready so you can walk around to kill time. They have some tables in the front and their back patio is open during this time. They were pretty exact with timing too. We had dinner on the back patio and the tables were spaced apart well where we didn't feel close to any other groups. The only thing around the patio is I didn't realize smoking was allowed so that was the only thing when eating our meal. We ended up getting the curly fries and smash burgers for dinner. The curly fries are basically sidewinder fries vs. the typically curly fries you may be expecting. Super crisp on the outside while not being overcooked. Large is a great size to share between 3-4 people! As for the burger, I felt less guilty as they pair them with a side salad vs. additional fries. I got the sauce/vinaigrette on the side which was a good option for me. The bun has a nice toast and holds up well with all the toppings (love the bun)! The patty/cheese were flavourful and melted perfectly together with the shredded lettuce to top it off. Staff here is super friendly and recommended solid drinks to pair as well! read more

I wanted to love this place and feel it had potential but the food really missed the mark. We tried multiple dishes. Some were good and some were pretty rough. I'll start with the positive: The corn dog was decent and the fries were incredible. If you go here you need to order the curly fries. So so good. We also liked the trout BLT. Super unique and yummy. Another positive is the patio. It's super nice and spacious and had great fire pits. Awesome vibes! Unfortunately, some of the food really missed the mark. The donuts holes came out completely raw. They were still totally doughy. We also had two orders of the Patty melt and it was not good. Interurban is a restaurant that I've always liked, but during COVID i've certainly gained a new appreciation for. Their back patio (complete with fire pit) is super cozy and it's so nice to be able to eat a meal here and have it ALMOST feel like the world is normal. I'm mostly here for brunch these days, and they don't disappoint! On my last visit I had the Pork Steak & Arepas (Lan Roc spinalis pork steak, cotija arepas, pickled red onion, jalapeno butter, fermented chili sauce, sunny eggs.) which hits a bullseye for my personal tastes. The meat was cooked perfectly and it tasted like a healthy-ish meal that still left me satisfied. Also on the menu? Boozy oyster shooters! I love Interurban for its rustic, cozy vibes, and the bar area, where the magic is made! They have so many drinks that sound SO good for anytime of the day. The inside is definitely a bit small and narrow, but they have a backside and upstairs with more tables and booths. I like sitting upstairs by the windows, that look out into the neighborhood, especially during this Fall Season where all the trees are different colors! Anytime I go out to brunch, I have to get the Eggs Benedict if it's offered, so I did just that. Interurban's Egg Benedict came with pulled pork, and a side salad. The pork was not too salty at all, and the english muffin really easy to slice through. My egg was a bit overdone, so I didn't get that classic egg oozing out, but it was still delicious topped with the Hollandaise sauce! I will say that I do love brunches with a side of potatoes, but I actually really enjoyed the side salad - it was very fresh, and awesome to pair with each bite of the benedict. They were a bit slammed in the morning, so it did take a little longer than usual to get seated, put in our order, ask for water & utensils, and then for the check, but everyone who works there are super cool and will do everything they can to make sure you're taken care of in the end! read more

Upon my delayed arrival to Portland from Wrightsville Beach NC (1 1/2 hours late...1:00 EST) I was ready for a hearty late-night dinner... I absolutely love Interurban. I happened I their for a late breakfast (don't call me brunch) after a Saturday hike, I had some arepas that were killer and a glass of Pliny the Elder on draft. My second visit was for Pliny the Younger day! Super laid back and fun getting a glass of the Unicorn beer. I had some bacon wrapped dates that really hit the spot. Most recently I met an old friend for drinks there, I had a gold rush cocktail and a boulivardie (on tap) both excellent drinks made by a friendly bartender. Cool music, great booze selection, knowledgeable bartenders mixing up some fun drinks, and while not really a beer spot, they have amazing rotating taps. read more

Yes, Pliny, the oft overrated and overhyped beer. It's good, but it isn't mesmerizing. It is like Sasquatch though, a rarity to find anywhere, so having it on draft - you kinda just gotta get it. Fabulous and chic little bar with amazing craft cocktails and great food. Stopped in here the other night with boyfriend and loved the low light, chill atmosphere from the start. I got a Toki Airmail cocktail and my boyfriend got an Irish Maid and they were both perfect. For food, I got the Corn Soup and Portland's Finest Corn Dog. The soup was surprising and very good, great flavours. The corn dog lived up to its name and came with 3 different mustards and a dollop of ketchup for dipping. My boyfriend got the Pulled Pork Sandwich and oh my God, it was amazing! Best pulled pork ever. Perfectly spiced and perfectly cooked. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender and the flavour was robust and rich, while not overwhelming the flavour of the meat, and had just a little zing to it. Expectations were high. The beer selection helped to ease my anticipation. Russian River Blind Pig was delightful. Suddenly, it was upon me...12 inches of thick pork warmly encased in battered corn. Brunch review. Not really impressed to be honest. Sat upstairs and took awhile for someone to come by to take our order. Even though we sat by a window, it felt dark and cramped. Could hear everyone's conversations. I got the benedict while my dining partner reluctantly got the steak and arepas because they ran out of the dish he originally wanted. The benedict wasn't all that special. The hollandaise had a slightly off flavor to me. The boar sausage was a salt lick. The eggs weren't that nice runny runny that you get with benedicts. I had a bite of the steak and thought that was the better dish of the two. Service was kinda meh. Lots of waiting. Coffee and water refills weren't offered explicitly. The best curly fries and the best rose! You gotta get it with all the sauces, the best little after work treat.

This is the best brunch on Mississippi, in my opinion. It's further up on the street, so you won't find the kind of wait you'd see at Gravy or Radar. They have the best salted caramel French toast and buttermilk poppyseed pancakes (if you're into sweets for brunch) or they have a crazy good eggs Benedict with sausage, broccolini or crawfish. The absolute star of brunch is definitely the Bloody Mary... by far, THE best bloody I've ever had and it will keep me coming back. They're dog friendly, so I can bring my pup and they always give him a biscuit or two. They also have an outside fire pit, great for a casual gathering with friends or even a date. read more

Service fantastic. I have been back. Really like this place a lot. Kerri at the bar is awesome. Food is soooo solid. Rumors of some item changes on the menu. Looking forward to more visits. I have also had the corn dog and the elk tartare. I loved the elk tartare but because of the cut it had great flavor but I like cuts a little more silky. Ordering at Interurban is easy because the path to a Yelper's heart is through his stomach ... and taste buds ... and did I already mention the stomach? The menu isn't large, but the temptations are tremendous ... Venison Tartare! Grilled Lamb Heart! Bone Marrow! Delicata Squash Doughnuts! and ... a Corn Dog? We paused while ordering. How can a Corn Dog be worth $11? Is there real gold in the mustard? Does it come with a $10 bill? Of course, with a menu proclaiming "Portland's Finest Hand-dipped Corn Dog," we had to get one. So, we did. Featuring an Olympic Provisions Pork Frank, it came with 3 distinctive mustards and a dollop of ketchup ... This corn dog may not be worth $11, but it just might be the best damn corn dog I've ever had. Seriously. Next up was a beautiful trio of thick full-cut rings of beer-battered bright-orange Delicata Squash called "Delicata Doughnuts" for $10. L...O...V...E... We had a really rough time at this place. Our party of five were given two choices -- indoor or outdoor seating. We chose indoor. We were seated at the small table facing away from the bar with four stools for five people. No big deal, it's a bar, we can stand. However, the staff insisted we sit, which was impossible given the number of stools available. The staff were rude and insisted we sit and wait to be served by the waitress rather than ordering at the bar. Honestly, the waitress seemed pretty overwhelmed. One bartender and one waitress for the whole place seems like a recipe for disaster if you're trying to take orders from each table individually. The bartender kept yelling at us for things like standing, ordering at the bar, or sitting at the bar while we waited. It felt like the staff kept making up rules on the spot and getting angry when we didn't know what to do. In retrospect, I'm guessing they're trying to follow some strict COVID protocols. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that's the case, but the rules were not communicated at all until we accidentally broke them. Ordering at the bar or standing with your friends are pretty normal bar behaviors. Our visit to Interurban was pretty miserable, and every other bar we visited over the weekend was great. Nobody else sat us at a table that was too small or yelled at us for ordering at the bar. I've never had a worse experience at a bar to be honest. read more

It is only Saturday and Sunday but great go to and rarely a wait(pro tip sit upstairs). The bloody Mary's are magical and consistently good eggs Benedict. Meet a friend for lunch about every month. Trying to find a different place and landed at the Interurban. Nice Interior. Good menu but hard to read (small print, and I don't wear readers.) Ordered our burgers and was asked about sides. (Remember I'm having a hard time reading this menu...) I asked the waiter what the sides were, and he looked at me and said, "Did you two come here to eat?" He picked up a menu as if to hand it back to me, and said, "It's on the menu.". I looked up at him and said, "Low light; I can't read this menu; would you just tell me what the sides are, please?" He did, but he wasn't happy about it. Burgers were cooked to perfection, medium rare for me and medium for my friend. I had stayed away from the burgers that listed barbecue sauce a condiment because one's taste in barbecue sauce does vary widely. My concern was justified as when my friend took the first bite of her burger, she just kind of looked at it. I asked her what was wrong, and she said that barbecue sauce is not to her liking. (Might want to order it on the side just in case.) Fries were nothing special. read more

I stopped by Interurban for a beer, snack, and free wifi to get some work done. The beer selection here was pretty small compared to other similarly sized bars and a bit on the pricey side for a 16 oz pour. I just missed Happy Hour when I visited, and I unfortunately couldn't find too many snack-y type of items to accompany my beer. I decided on a large ($5) side of fries, which came with a side of aioli. The portion was huge - I should have gotten a regular size instead ($3) - and the taste was good. These weren't the best fries in the world, but they were seasoned well, crispy overall (some fries were a tad soggy), and the aioli was seasoned nicely and they gave a lot (common theme I'm sensing). I'm a dingus for going to a bar to finish up work, as it was way too dark in here for me to really be productive, but I was glad that the wifi was fast and that I could find outlets by the bar. For now, Interurban gets an A-OK rating for me based on this experience, but I'll be back to try their full dinner menu as the folks around me who ordered full meals looked quite pleased. read more

About 40 min later, we got seated and they explained to us that there was only food on the happy hour menu (no drinks). We ordered three items from the happy hour menu (two tacos and one arepa), and they were extremely salty. The pulled pork was also pretty dry, and the taco itself was just not worth $6 per taco (at happy hour price, too, I might point out). The fries were probably the only thing worth the price, but even then, there was nothing phenomenal about the sauce. The bartender, upon being asked what he recommended, was also very rude. Instead of giving us options, all we got was, "there's a lot of things". This was extremely unhelpful and after such a long wait, and the drinks ending up being pretty mediocre, I cannot say I would go back again. read more

Odd place but not at all bad. You can tell they don't want you there if you don't look like an upper middle class person at minimum. I was treated to very obvious brush off conversation, and once a full eye roll. So if you can't enjoy yourself while being an average person I suggest staying away. Had a really bad experience here. We called earlier in the day to ask how they were handling in-person dining since the state opened up to it recently. They were friendly, told us they had a texting system. When I showed up, the manager said they were busy, and wouldn't put me on the waitlist. I went across the street with friends to drink, and an hour or so later my friend went to check on things. Again, they told him to come back later, no waitlist. Another hour, our third friend goes in, and they seat him right away. We had just gotten drinks at the outdoor place right away, and, admittedly a bit stupidly (and honestly, a bit drunkenly, after waiting so long), brought our drinks into the restaurant and sat where our friend was in the back. The manager saw us after a few minutes, started yelling and swearing quite aggressively, asked if we were fucking kidding, took our drinks, told us to leave immediately, saying how stupid we were, that we should use our brains, etc. It was so out of the bounds of professionalism, and when I tried to talk to him, to explain what had happened, he yelled more and threatened to call the police. I totally would have understood if they asked us to toss our drinks, or informed us drinks weren't ok, or even politely asked us to leave. Any of those would make absolute sense. But the aggression, yelling, swearing and belittling did not make sense. I feel for the manager, I know how stressful things can be. And, there has to be some modicum, some standard of human decency. The drinks were strong & the service wasn't bad... prices were pretty reasonable compared to other places in that area. There's not a ton of seating. you can tell that this was a house that was renovated into a bar. the deck in the back was nice but don't count on getting a seat. we ended up eating upstairs and the table did not have a lit candle nor did it have a working light above it. My friends and I came here after a concert unsure of our drunk cravings. While they did offer fries and burgers, they also offered a couple of pasta dishes. So I went with the Wine-Braised Lamb Navarin: house egg noodles, Spring vegetables, gremolata. This totally hit the spot for me, al dente noodles and the lamb was hearty. The place seems to be popular, as it was busy on a Friday night. I'll have to come back the next time I see a show at The Misssissipi, since the rest of their late night menu sounds amazing. Just went in for dinner and a drink and waited for someone to greet me for a little too long, when the bartender told me where I could sit I chose the bar. The bartender walked back behind the bar and let me sit there for ten minutes without as little as grabbing me a water before taking off too take a personal phone call out back. I then decided to move a few seats down and acknowledged the other bartender whom was not happy to help the situation. Seriously poor service. A random, late evening dinner and the Interurban did not disappoint. I got the chicken cordon bleu sandwich, and everything is really, really well done. The bread is homemade (give them 15 minutes or so to get the rolls out), the chicken is well-fried, and it's served with excellently-dresses greens and homemade pickles. What else could you ask for? It's homemade Portland goodness! Elizabeth got the hand-dipped corn dog. It's a meal and a half (it's a large dog), with mustards and homemade pickles.
