I went to Interurban for Burger Week and tried the Chicago Dog burger -- and wow, it was delicious! Really flavorful and had a nice tangy kick that made it stand out from a typical burger. You could tell they put some real thought into that combo. I also really liked the design of the bar. My only small wish is that there was a TV or two to catch a game while eating, but overall, it's a great place I'd happily come back to. Would like to try more of the food at some point. read more

This was a great bar! We swung in for drinks and got a table upstairs (I didn't even know they had an upstairs!). I love how they leaned into the history of the building. It is so cool inside! Ended up back at Interurban on a chill, rainy day and was instantly reminded of why Interurban is one of my most favorite spots in all of PDX, even now, seven years after I first discovered it. It's a rustic, edgy, Down to Earth place that continues to deliver excellence. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, especially at night, yet never boring. The food ranges from simple pub fare to salads and larger entrees but it's all super tasty and well done. It's pub fare on a higher level. I just had the Steak Frites and that was some of the best flank steak I've ever had, even at fancier restaurants. I'm a big cocktail fan so I especially appreciate their dedication to fine, craft cocktails. They deliver a solid selection of the classics, a creative mix of their own design, and now a selection of adapted historical cocktails from Bar La Florida c. 1935 Havana, Cuba. The Daiquiri #2 was delightful. They have a variety of spaces from their comfy bar, to tables upstairs in the historic house they occupy, to their outdoor patio kept warm by the fire. This is a cool chill vibe place to grab drinks and food. I was able to find parking on the side street so that was nice. I had a daiquiri number two. It was amazing cocktail and highly recommend. They have other cocktails that I would love to try in the future. My date and I shared oysters . Definitely recommend the hama Hama oysters. A few other appetizers caught my eye. I got the pork plate for my dish. It was good, but it lacked flavor. I'm not sure what they could've added to it, but there should've been something in there to make it more flavorful. Pickle plate and pigs in a blanket. The pickle plate was all sweet pickled. Good but I'm more of a savory person. Pigs in a blanket have a really good puff pastry. While I was visiting Portland, Interurban was a bar/restaurant I visited to get a late dinner after I arrived in the city. The place wasn't too crowded even though I came on a Friday night, and I was able to get a seat at the bar within 5 minutes or so (although there may be more of a wait for larger groups). The bartenders and servers were welcoming, and they were pretty friendly to chat with. I decided to try out the Smoked Trout BLT since that sounded pretty unique and also some of the PNW Oysters on the Half Shell. While the items are on the pricier side, I was pleasantly surprised by how well the Smoked Trout went with the rest of the sandwich. I typically haven't eaten smoked fish often, but the flavors in this were great and it was definitely a combination that I hadn't had before. The oysters were fresh and I also enjoyed them quite a bit, but the main star was definitely the BLT. If you want a quick bite to eat in Portland, Interurban is a good one to try out! read more

What a great place. It's a Sunday, so I assume way less busy. Our server was so nice and I love the outdoor table service! Some places make you order at the bar. We were a larger party and ordered a lot. So let's get stared. Drinks are drinks and only did one cocktail, so I'm going to be food-focused. Very impressed with the GF items, we got (for me) oysters 15$ for 3 for the table so 12 total (local Washington. Love! Sauces could be better. Curly fries, thought we ordered cocktail weenies but didn't come so NM, 2 prawns, and wow the sauce (cocktail), salsa vibes and so much in a good way horseradish. We kept it for dinner. My friend and I were looking for a place to eat happy hour before a comedy show at Mississippi Studios. My friend is a gluten-free vegetarian, so we had to be more selective of the options nearby. We decided on Interurban, and we're glad we did! We started with a drink each: the Puppet King and the Flower Child. The Puppet King was decent, but not my favorite flavor profile. The Flower Child, on the other hand, was delicious! For food, we ordered the Spanish Cocktail Snack Mix and the Seven Layer Dip. The Snack Mix was a great mix of crunchy snacks, and the Seven Layer Dip was flavorful. We asked our server to make it an eight-layer dip as a joke, and he brought it back with edible flowers on top! It was a nice touch. The service at Interurban was excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, we had a great experience at Interurban. I went to Interurban in order to enjoy one of their signature dishes: Portland's best corndog. I also went to enjoy some of the best fries Portland has to offer. For the first time in many decades, I also decided to enjoy a beer. However, I did not know which one to try because I had not had a beer in so long. So I asked the server for his recommendation. I also asked that he recommend a dipping sauce for my fries. Both his recommendations were outstanding. The beer was light and delicious and paired excellently with both the fries and the corndog. The ambience of this place also Was perfect. The decor, the music, even the weight staff was top-notch. I especially appreciate that the server allowed me to go upstairs and sit in one of those booths, even though I was a solo diner. I want to preface this by saying my partner, and I went here once before, and sat at the bar and were treated wonderfully, which is what inspired us to return tonight. Unfortunately, we were treated very poorly and met with a lot of hostility from the get go. As a fellow service industry worker I always try to give the benefit of the doubt, but as the night progressed, we were basically ignored, things we put in were forgotten about, and we were never checked on again unless we actively got up from the table to ask for service in which case we were met with extremely rude remarks and treatment. This was a vastly different experience than the table next to us was receiving . we could hear them being treated kindly and with respect. The food was amazing.(what we received anyway) and the drinks were great, but I didn't feel good or welcome in that space. Maybe we read the vibes wrong the first time and assumed they were friendly to gay and trans people . Either way I am not sure what we did to be treated poorly before we ever said a single word. My normal default is to leave a great tip no matter what and an amazing tip for anything above and beyond but I could not justify paying money to be treated with distain and aggression. If I wanted people to be hostile and rude to me all I have to do is leave my house and can receive that for free. I will recommend sitting at the bar only because the bartenders are wonderful OR only going there if you are a cis woman in your early 20's as those were the clientele that the server was nice to. Went here for drinks on New Year's before a concert. This is a great little place. They have a bar downstairs and a small room upstairs as well. But the best part of this place is their outdoor area in the back. They have a number of seating areas and some fire pits as well. We were lucky enough to snag seats around a fire pit. It was lovely to enjoy the night air without being cold. The staff was all super friendly and the drinks were all very well executed. I'll definitely come back and try some food next time. The only thing I'll warn you on is going down the stairs from the upstairs, I took a bit of a fall...it's pretty dark at the bottom of the stairs. read more

Seriously My first few bites were holding it out the side of my mouth trying to let my molars tear it apart. Fries were not cooked all the way. Why should I have to put them in the oven just to eat them??? Grits were meh. I'm so angry about this meal. I would have sent it all back if we were in person. A fun little brewery with classic offerings of pub food and beers. They had a waitlist system that was easy enough to use and the wait time wasn't too bad on a Friday evening! They had a tent for outdoor seating in the front with two tables -- it was fine for the most part, though the tarp was pretty loud since it was being jostled by the passing cars. I got a small fries and Pizza Port Hazy IPA and loved both. The fries were wedge cut and came with a dipping sauce of your choice, and I got the aioli and enjoyed it. The beer was also great! What a fantastic find. My wife and I are doing this ABC game of Portland so this was our I. The game has been a great way to try new places that we normally wouldn't experience. The seafood here was amazing. Hama Hama oysters are one of my favorite things in the world so I was so excited to see them on the menu. They were fresh, shucked nicely, and the extras were tasty. This was my second time at Interurban and I can't wait to go back many more times! My friends and I had a great time tonight! First and foremost, the service is excellent here. Our server was attentive, patient, kind, efficient, friendly and funny. Coming from a service background, I know how important great service can be in making or breaking an experience and I would say the service here definitely helped make our experience so wonderful. Besides that, the atmosphere is great. The upstairs reminds me a little bit on the way up the hardwood steps to the second floor of Beech Street Parlor, an old Portland favorite that is sadly no longer. Also, the general vibe has me nostalgic for more places such as Beech Street and similarly, another old Portland staple that is sadly no longer, Liberty Glass. So being able to come to Interurban and feel that craftsman style house-converted bar with a hip, trendy, yet smooth and chill vibe has not been lost feels really nice. Food is simply delicious; particularly the oysters are excellent. I absolutely loved the corn dog as well. But really, everything we had was very good. We ordered a bunch of the St Patrick's Day specials including the corned beef sandwich, the corned beef plate, and the Irish coffee Jell-O shots. I was very impressed with everything and we were all very satisfied and happy to take home leftovers we couldn't finish to enjoy later. I absolutely love Interurban. It's a great traditional PNW with a great liquor selection, local craft beers, and an elevated cocktail program.
