The battery on my car did not have enough strength, especially cold cranking amps. It came down to the battery was done for, and it was time for a new one. Plus, it was a 5-year battery, so I jumped my car and drove it to Burlingame to drop in a drop of a returned item. Since I was in the area with tools in the trunk, I stopped at Interstate to buy a battery and replace it myself on the spot. Service was excellent, and they knew exactly what they wanted and similar prices compared to everywhere else for an AGM battery. read more

1st interstate Auto Batteries. No.1 in my household. I run we all my vehicles. Service is GREAT been with them for over 20 years. *****

I went into Interstate because I heard good things about the brand to pick up a battery for my car. Instead of asking for my VIN # like every other battery place did to actually verify the correct size and model of the battery, the person working at the counter told me there were two sizes for my car, a smaller and bigger sized one, which is yours? I responded saying I don't know the battery size, because it's my first time replacing it on my car. He then told me to go measure it with a tape ruler. Firstly, my car was dead hence, I did not have it with out in the lot, it was parked at home and secondly my battery was underneath plastic covers that I could not get to without proper mechanic tools and measure. This was all explained. You would think a battery place knows the correct size of the battery you need for a specific make and model of any car. He then decided lets fo for the smaller one i said sure trusting in his expertise and holding on to hope. i take the car to the mechanic who takes an hour and a half to get to the battery just to find out I indeed needed the larger battery size. I stood there with the mechanic looking at each other like shouldn't the guy at Interstate have taken the time out to just look up the correct size? It would've taken him a minute. Isn't that his job and their speciality? Turns out I ended up ordering the OEM battery from the mechanic, had to take a long Uber ride home and find my way back to pick up my car when it could've all been done in one go with some experise. The service just seemed, lazy, unprofessional, and incompetent. It reminds me why some employees are liabilities. They could've had a $350 sale but ended up refunding it. On top of that, I asked the same person who made the sale and then proceeded with the refund when it will be returned to my bank account and again he confidently said a couple hours, it still has not been refunded. Save your time, energy, uber expenses and just pay for an OEM battery from the dealership or even go to Autozone. At least they seemed more willing to help and are knowledgeable. read more

I was pleased to see an actual brick and mortar building for an Interstate battery business. I've in the past have had to order my batteries online and had it shipped. I've always been a fan of the Optima model of the Interstate brand. Those batteries have been my choice since they were invented. My go to colors are the red top and the yellow top. Both are great depending what you are using them for. I have the red top in my car that I use for my daily commute and that thing is still running strong. The yellow top is in my truck that is lifted and needs a little more power since I have a stereo system and a wench that I use when I go off-roading with the click. So depending on an individual's lifestyle, choose properly which batteries would suit you. If in doubt, the sales rep is extremely helpful and surely knows their stuff and can match you with the proper product. read more

I bought a battery here It is green and it works For months now My previous one lasted about five years. So I'm feeling pretty good. But this review is too short I also like Tesla autos. They have batteries too. But they are not green. Maybe interstate will sell them batteries?! read more

First time I had ever bought a battery that lasted a few months after the warranty. When buying the battery, the guy never told me I was paying for a 24 month battery. So I just paid the $60 and said fine with it. Around the 25th month, I needed a jump start because the battery was dead. I wasn't around so a friend just told me. A few months later it happens again. When CSAA came out they tested my battery and told me that the Cold Cranking was at 80 when this battery should had been at 250. Taking it to this place, they test it and tell me the exact same thing. They also tell me that they wanted $55 after prorating my battery. This is the first time I had to replace my battery twice in a single car, since I am not running anything not OEM and live in an area that doesn't drop below 60F or go above 90F for more than a week. Rather go to Kragen or Costco for a replacement battery next time.. I had never had trouble with their batteries in less than 5 years from date of purchase. read more

I have never been to anything like this but must say experience was smooth and fast . Chris gave us a qoute over the phone and had the battery ready for us to pick up. Arrived at the establishment and it literally only took 10 minutes for everything. They put it in and took the old battery and just like that we were set to go .Not to mention I totally freak out when stuff like these arise . Thank you for making everything smooth and easy . I will definitely recommend to fellow family and friends read more

I drove all the way down from San Francisco because the website said they were open today the sign on the door says they are closed tomorrow and the other sign on their door says that they're open from 8:00 to 5:00 yet the door is locked no one's there I called first just figured it was really busy because everyone was trying to have their business dealt with before they were closed tomorrow so I just headed straight down here before they closed. Once again monumental waste of gas read more

The battery on my CRV was at its last leg, had to get a replacement battery and this place IS is the place to go! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and they have equipment that will test your existing battery to its condition. Located right off 101, and plenty of parking. read more

Awesome service each time I've had to come in to get a battery! I now put Interstate Batteries in everyone of our vehicles hands down the best!! If you need a battery don't waste time and money going anywhere else you won't be disappointed with the service nor the product read more

Great service I called a few hours before to make sure they had my batteries in stock. They did, no real surprise there. However the counter guy took it upon himself to get them out and have them ready even though I didn't ask him to do so, or even indicate I was on my way. Pretty cool, eh? I knew mine needed to be replaced, but they had testing gear at the ready and were at the ready to offer accurate assessment of the situation. Full marks! Easy access and parking. COVID-friendly with spacing reminders and hand sanitizer, etc. They made a rather mundane task easy. Cool. read more

I am so, so fortunate to have found this battery place. They have unknowingly helped relieve so much of the unbelievable stress I've been in since the beginning of July.... and that thanks would go to both Pep Boys and Battery Bill (Battery Buttholes should be their name) of Sacramento. grrrrrrrr But anyway lucky for me I've moved to a better area of California and found this battery blessing when I googled "deep cycle batteries". Hoping could I please for the LOVE OF GOD freaking come by a decent deep cycle already??? Sorry I still have trust issues from the previously referenced shxthole companies. A very nice professional young man answered their phone when I called in desperate breathless hope that they had used deep cycles. Thank the Lord yes they did. I made the drive from the coast to their location, a very easy to find industrial area off Bayshore Highway, near the airport. A different handsome professional knowledgeable young man....MIKE!!!....made an awesome big ole kick a$$ used deep cycle appear before me. It was cautious love at first sight, and over a week later we are soon to be married. Not the good looking sales guy.... I'm too old and barren for him. It's me and my dependable deep cycle. I can cut back on my Thorazines now thx cute battery dudes. read more

Went here to get a battery for our car it was a hot day decided to bring my 2 little dogs inside, and the guy at the counter said no dogs allowed, I asked why? he said there's acid in the shop I don't understand that comment and acid is inside the battery not outside on the floor , and there is no sign posted anywhere "NO DOGS ALLOWED" they are not dog friendly so I decided to go take my business to Redwood City Interstate Battery and they let me bring my dogs inside with no problem and friendly staff. I highly recommend NOT to shop here they are not very helpful or nice workers. read more

I've been going to Interstate Battery systems for around 11 years. Always a pleasant experience, although, every time I visit I usually buy something in addition to what I originally needed . ( battery charger, flashlight, other type of batteries) this last visit my optima "yellow top" finally started acting up & needed replacement. I didn't realize until got it out of my car that I had purchased it 2007! Unbelievable! I also want to thank Mike & Jeff. Mike has always been a great representative of this business & a pleasure to work with , Jeff is who I dealt with this visit, informative & professional. I've bought batteries for motorcycles , American British & Japanese .Interstate as far as I know has pretty much any type battery you could possibly need. Quality products @ blue collar prices. This particular store has a "old school " feel about it . This is the only place I'll go for batteries read more

My John Deere mower's battery ran dead, and had to get it replaced. It was an unusual size and most of the places I knew, did not have it in stock. I wanted to avoid having to drive all the way back to the place where I got it. So I brought the dead battery with me and asked if they had anything that was similar to it, the guy behind the counter took the battery to the back and said he would be right back. He came back shortly with a new one, he ended up taking back our old one free of charge and took the new one back home, installed it and fired the John Deere back up. I threw my beer into the cup holder and went to work. read more

For a few days my cars ignition sounds weaker and weaker every morning. One day I go out. Click click click. No turning. I borrow a friends charger, I jump it and drive around. Let it charge. Next day still dead. Well looks like the original OEM Moll is kaput. SO I read around and Interstate is the most widely used replacement for said Moll. So I go out get an MTP 94R H7. Has the hydrogen vent tube and everything. Fits exactly like the original and cranks like a champ. Problem solved. $16 refund for your old core, and the folks are friendly to boot read more

i highly recommend interstate battery!! they were super nice and helpful. they don't do small retail stuff but still helped me out with my issue (key fob for my car wasn't working). they went above and beyond- can't recommend them enough!! read more

The battery went out on my 1993 Audi S4 on March 15th - The Ides of March!! I pretty much started looking for a replacement starting w/ the closest option - Sears @ Tanforan (like a 5 minute walk). They didn't have a DieHard battery w/ the vent port. Autozone....wasn't really hot on their Duralast brand... but they didn't have one w/ a port anyways. Didn't even dawn on me to see if my battery was under warranty - Turns out I bought it June 2008 a few days before my big move to Northern California from San Diego. And sure enough it was under warranty still. Dont know why I didn't think to check this first?? In da GF's Scion, drove down to the Interstate Battery warehouse in Millbrae (7 minutes away?). Showed the guy my receipt and my old battery. FREE Replacement!! He did have something to say about the franchise I bought it from in SD... apparently there's a huge difference w/ protocols between Corporate and Franchise locations. The date stamp on the battery was over a year off the purchase receipt. Meaning it had been sitting for a while or ? The replacement he gave me was shrink wrapped. Where the one I was replacing was "loose" when I bought it. If you're the "brand loyal" type: Having been through DieHard, Optima, and other batteries in the past I must say I have a great experience w/ Interstate and will continue to use them. If you're in the bay area and you're having problems sourcing a new battery for your car, I recommend the Interstate Battery in Millbrae. Friendly Quick service and NO hassle on the warranty exchange. read more

I had called ahead to get a quote for a battery and installation for my Civic. Given that they quoted me a price that was a good $10 less than what other shops were telling me and that this shop was close to home, I decided to give them a try. The guys at the front of the shop were very nice, but the price ended up being more than what I was quoted on the phone. I probably should have argued a bit about it, but given other research that I had done, the price wasn't unfair, but comparable to those at other places. The service guys in the back of the store were not as friendly and pretty quiet--almost seemed like they had never talked to a woman in the garage before. The nice thing was that I could watch them install the battery while I waited, so now I know how to do it myself! I just need the right wrench... Three stars because it was really just A-OK; they got the job done while I waited at an average price. I can't bump up the rating because of the mediocre service and the price not quite matching the quote I got over the phone. read more

Battery died last night, purchased @ Interstate Redwood City in October 2017, 14 months ago. Brought it here, was assisted by a gentleman, informed him of the issue. He confirmed my battery "batch number". I was told I have a 2 year warranty for my battery. I was given a replacement and sigbed the paper work. Walked out the door within 5 minutes or less. Wow, hassle-free transaction and great customer service. What else could you ask for? Thank you very much Interstate, been a loyal customer to your company. read more

This morning, my husband's truck's battery died. We jumped it, drove it over to Interstate and Bill helped us out. A huge high five to the person that hired this employee. Came here today to get a replacement battery for my Audi A6 and couldn't be more satisfied with the service and quality. Billy and Suzy were especially accommodating and added a special x-mas discount to the already great deal for installation + battery. I have changed twice for interstate batteries (from Firestone and 9 min lube) even it claims they have 5 years performance warranty. When I call this center, the Rep told me they cannot do anything about it. Why you put 5 years warranty on it? I will not recommend this brand battery. read more

These guys are distributors for most of the battery brands. Bought an optima red top from these guys a couple years back when Costco didn't have the right size. They even beat Costco's price when I asked. It stopped holding a charge, probably cause I don't drive the car enough. Went by to exchange it and they took care of it no grief. Then I asked if they had any batteries for my bucket daily driver (odd oversize battery for an SC300.) They hooked me up with a re-manufactured battery with warranty for $33! Why go anywhere else for a battery when they're likely the ones that brought it to the store to begin with. read more

Super friendly over the phone and in the shop. They double checked if I had the right parts and type of battery and helped me load the batteries in my trunk. Would absolutely recommend them! Thanks Bill! read more

We've used Interstate for years with no trouble but the last few months we've had multiple sudden, unexplained failures. Burlingame's been nice about it but nice doesn't make machines go. We don't know what they changed (we suspect Interstate switched from Johnson Controls to Exide in our sizes) but it doesn't matter - after ten years of doing business with only Burlingame Interstate, we've had to ban them as a vendor. read more

These guys are really knowledgeable and nice. I got a car battery here a few months ago(which worked perfectly). No complaints!

I was able to pick up a battery for my car (bit of a strange size because I drive a diesel), have my old battery tested, and have the new battery installed in an hour. Given the odd size of my battery, I think I could have spent a day to get the work done. The Interstate guys were cheerful, worked through installation in a tight space without complaining, and gave me what I think is great service. They're just off 101 near the airport... easy to find, with parking. Moreover, I believe that Interstate is one of the top battery brands. read more
