Unfortunately, they can't reinstall the new one because my 2019 Tiguan had to be "scanned" for codes which they don't do. His buddy recommended a shop nearby where this service is done. Called on a Monday evening after our car battery crapped out. I spoke with Ron who gave me the options for the batteries that fit my vehicle, and said they could install it for me if I brought it by. Rolled in within 15 minutes to a mostly empty parking lot. Ron was outside helping another vehicle install some new windshield wipers. We went in, spoke to the gentleman at the counter who helped us purchase the battery. After paying, I carried the battery outside where Ron met me with his cart of tools. Ron worked diligently and carefully to replace the battery. He took the extra time to clean the casing and all the terminals, which was greatly appreciated. He genuinely seemed to want to do a good job. As he was working, we started chatting a bit. He is an SF native, so we had some good chats about the 49ers and other Bay Area happenings. He worked efficiently and was done in less than half an hour. It probably would have been even shorter if I hadn't distracted him with chit chat. Overall this is your standard O'Reilly Auto Parts. They have all the typical parts and accessories you would expect to find. The reason for the 5 star review is Ron and his customer service. Again, I super appreciated his attention to detail, and ability to help install something I don't have the tools to do myself. I assume they won't always be able to help, depending on staffing and availability. I've been here a handful of times to pick up random things for my car, but this review is specifically for Ron, who has helped me with multiple things I needed (battery replacement, headlight replacement). As a female, I'm always frustrated with how expensive it is to take my car in to get things done, and don't always feel confident walking into an auto shop/store. Thankfully Ron and the rest of the O'Reilly team go above and beyond when it comes to customer service. Ron quickly and efficiently replaced my car battery for me; he also spent extra time cleaning the terminals and made sure to check everything multiple times. Really appreciated his attention to detail! My husband and I got to know Ron a bit during our first interaction with him, chatting about the Niners. My second interaction was when I needed a headlight replaced; I called ahead to make sure Ron was there and was available to replace it. The replacement took a while due to it being particularly difficult to access the lightbulbs in my car (Saturn Aura). Ron not only stuck with it, but made sure everything was perfect before I left. As I stopped by solo this time, I felt totally comfortable and was at ease while he replaced the headlight. Not sure if I've been lucky to catch them when they aren't terribly busy, but I've been in and out of there quickly and always have a positive experience. Came in to O'Reilly Auto Parts on El Camino in Millbrae on the afternoon of Monday, October 10, 2022. I was equipped with text messages from my husband for specific windshield wipers for our Ford Explorer. Immediately upon entry, I was greeted by one of the team members at the counter. I showed him the text messages from my husband and after searching in his computer, he went to the back, and came back with wipers. After purchase, he asked if the car was outside because he was willing to install them for me. Since I didn't drive the Explorer to the shop, he offered to install them if my husband or I returned with the S.U.V. I was in and out of the store in ten to fifteen minutes, tops. Unfortunately, when I returned home with the wipers, my husband disappointedly said that the O'Reilly store clerk did not look in detail at every text containing the links to the windshield wipers. Apparently, he gave me the older styles for the two front wipers instead of the newer ones that my husband specified in his texts. No biggie - they still worked, but thoroughness in checking for the correct products would have been appreciated. They have a big parking lot, though. read more

Improve customer service and math skills. When paying cash no one works there seems to know on how to give correct change back to customer. I strongly recommend them going back to school and retake simple math 101 classes. Very poor. Will never shop here again ever. Every single employee just standing around and doing nothing. Since they are doing nothing, i recommend cut all staff and install self checkout with cash debit credit handling more accuracy in math because no one works there do not know their math. I was due for a battery replacement but have been putting it off for awhile. Unfortunately my car made it clear that it had to be done and on a Friday I was having difficulty turning it on. I called on Friday night and was informed that they don't perform battery changes after 8pm since they close at 9pm. They advised me to take the car the next day. The next day I went in around noon and an older gentleman informed me that unfortunately the two individuals that do the change were on lunch. He did give me the option to come back in an hour. Fortunately Jaime came in and was able to help me right away. He explained the options I had. Soon after his colleague Ron got my replacement battery and installed my new car battery. The entire process from me coming into the store and getting the battery installed took close to an hour but with short staffing and it being a weekend it is understandable. I just wanted to write this excellent review for Navine. I hope I'm spelling his name right but he went above and beyond to help us when we were in a jam. He was super helpful, friendly, and professional in every way. My hub cap was falling off of my Knight Rider tribute car on July 4th. I took the car out to hopefully see the fireworks and bring people some joy as people really love that car. Unfortunately, the hub cap had an issue and was about to fall off. It's a very rare and expensive part so I needed to remedy the issue. Navine lent us his personal tools and even gave us some wire to fix it the right way. It required jacking the car up and taking the wheel off. Pretty involved. I posted a picture of my car below. I wish more people in this world can be like Navine. Horrible attitude from Assistant Manager Emanuel, he managed to get mad within 2 minutes and was swearing and yelling at me because I didn't want to get a refund of 100 in 5 dollar bills.. What a terrible person and clearly doesn't belong being a manager's assistant with that much anger and disrespect towards customers. I just wanted to recognize the exceptional service I received on 6/27 with Jaime, Chris, and Henry when I was replacing my car battery with my mom. They were helpful, professional, and funny. They replaced my beat up car battery and took the time to clean my old battery, install it, and recommend how to avoid leaking battery essence, etc. etc. They installed my battery for free, but they accept tips (it was so hot that day and so helpful, why not!). Instead of offering assistance when the battery didn't turn up in their system, the staffer told us to call Auto Zone in the most rude tone ever heard. Where is the customer service? Especially during this crazy COVID time we are all experiencing. When I called back to speak to a manager, I was told he would speak to the sales clerk and apologized, but brought no honesty to his statement. When I asked if he would speak to the lack of customer service and inability to provide service, the manager said "Oh yes". When I asked if he would speak to the rude tone, the manager replied, "What ever." I found this place by a stroke of luck, driving down El Camino while looking for Auto Zone. I made a U-Turn and drove into their side parking lot, got out and into the store. The staff was polite and prompt and helped me with changing the cell/s to the car electronic lock/fobs. Even as I was shopping, there was another customer who was ranting. The customer service here is really incredible. I normally shop at the O'Reilly location in San Mateo, but the people working here really go above and beyond. I came here to buy motor oil for my car. I asked Ray if all motor oil brands are the same, and he said that if it were his car, he would stick to this side (the left side) of the display. He said "you get what you pay for" and I'm not sure if this is true, because I don't know much about cars, but Rich, a mechanic at Marsili's in Belmont, said the same thing in almost the same words, so I'll believe it. After I paid for my oil, Ray came out and helped me fill the oil in my car. He checked the dipstick, then told me I should probably buy an extra quart to save myself another trip. I went back into the store to buy more oil, and Ray went to help these other customers replace their windshield wipers. Super customer service! read more

I was in there yesterday to purchase a new battery with my father for his truck. After my card not scanning for reward points, when we came home to replace the battery Lyntton sold me, it was the wrong one and did not fit. I purchased a Die Hard replacement from Sears and came back to return the battery my dad paid $131.98 cash for. Alvaro requested that I put the refund back onto a card instead, as they did not have sufficient cash on hand in the store to refund cash. When I initially entered the store and was waiting in line, two employees were busy helping customers. The man I had seen outside entered and held up a W-9 in the air, and said aloud, "No joke, I literally just bought this thing less than 5 minutes ago, and the thing is empty!" After a couple seconds pause, Yaser responded, "Just grab another one off the shelf. Make sure you leave the old one with us on the counter top." And then proceeded to assist the couple in front of him. When I told my father that Alvarro asked that we put the refund back onto a card because they did not have adequate cash in their registers, my dad said to me, "No. I paid cash, they need to return my cash back. They're bullshitting. They have cash." So I told Alvarro that my father would not accept a refund back onto a card. He proceeded to check registers as though they were all empty, when Yaser responded, "I should have enough. I'll just have a lot less in my register, and you'll have a lot more." Alvarro got the amount wrong 3 times that was paid on the receipt, and they're lucky that I wasn't trying to make a profit off his errors. I returned the $3.02 change Lynnton had given earlier that morning & got my father's $135 back. The best thing I saw that this store has got going is Yaser. He's a quick problem-solver, effective at his job, and courteous. His handling of problems made an impression to me, that he's an adept person quick on his feet. Let me say this. I had a catastrophic oil leak from an oil filter that was seized on the oil filter mount. I took the mount off the engine and was desperate to try and get it out. This was Sunday morning. I walked in to O' Reilly's due to a friend mentioning they might have an idea of a place to help me get it off. I was greeted with professionalism and both the guys helped me get the filter off the mount. Besides that, Rick and Douglas were both very welcoming and friendly. Willing to help someone that popped out of the blue. Even when I was there, their customer service was excellent. I cannot say how much I appreciate what they did that morning. I just usually buy engine and oil internal cleaning stuff. When used to do all my own maintenance I used to be at these auto part stores almost daily. Now rather just pay someone to do it...everyone needs money..help each other out. Customer service is ok, never had any issues. If I find more to report I will update, other than that...eh...it's whatever. Still give 4 stars just cuz haven't given me a reason not to. Works for others that work on their vehicles I'm sure. They weren't really around when I used to work on my impala but always had to go back and swap out "new" AND "refurb" so it sucked. read more

Last week on Friday, I came into O'Reilly to purchase a car battery. Before I came in, I called to see which car battery I needed for my 2010 Toyota Corolla S. I spoke to one of the associates; unfortunately, I didn't get his name, but he did say he transferred from the Pep Boys in San Carlos. It was his second day on the job, but he was very helpful. I helped find the right price for me and the battery even comes with a 3 year warranty. He even installed the battery for me. Although, I did feel a little guilty that he did since it was about 90 degrees outside. But he didn't complain and we had a very nice talk about the Warriors! (GO DUBS).
