Extremely disappointed with the customer service. I was persuaded to buy a new battery here, with two different employees named Tony assuring me they would install it--just come back when more staff are available. First visit (Mon 9 AM): Four staff members were standing around, but no one offered help. Second visit (Tues 4:30 PM): No one was available. Third visit (Wed 2 PM): I was redirected to the San Mateo branch, which also couldn't help. I returned to the Millbrae location--still no assistance. Out of frustration, I went just two blocks down to O'Reilly. With only one person on staff, they installed the battery in five minutes. I went back to AutoZone and returned the battery I bought there. read more

did the work of finding what kind of lights I needed online. purchased them and then realized I needed other lights not that one. came to the store and tried to figure it out myself, well I must have looked a bit lost since the man behind the counter asked me if I needed help. I said no, but actually maybe. he was kind enough to explain the different lights I have and what light I had in my hand and where I pulled it from. I was looking for Clay gloves, and since I was in the area, I needed a few other things to wash my car. I walked in and was looking at a few cleaning supplies, but with all the options, it made it difficult. I asked the person at the front counter, and he was honest with me and said I know electrical stuff, but my coworker said he would tell you which products work for washing and detailing. He referred me to Griot's Garage and was pleasant to talk to, and he gave me the low down on other products. It's good service, but pricing on some stuff is hit-and-miss. I went to AutoZone to get my car battery replaced. This very nice young man, Luis B. took care of me. He really too pride in his work and did it with care and even gave me tips about battery maintenance. My old batter had a lot of corrosion so he took the time to clean off as much as he could from the connectors. He also applied a special coating and these washer type things to minimize future corrosion. I really appreciate Luis' attention to details and stellar customer service. read more

Welcome to Autozone, where even with an empty store the parking lot is full. Came in for some parts and no where to park! Always seems to be the case here weekends/weekdays it doesn't matter. Parts wise they are great. Parking is the only real issue here. Employees park on the edge making it hard to get into the perpendicular parking and also parking in the area adjacent to the handicap spaces. read more

Came into AutoZone to check my battery after my car died. The employee was able to check my battery and informed me I needed to replace it with a new one and I was able to get it done here efficiently and effectively. There was a bit of a wait just because there were other customers, but the employees were very good about acknowledging me and informing me that they'd take care of the customers paying before going outside to fix my battery, which is totally understandable. The employee was very good about describing the different options I had when choosing a battery and put it into perspective compared to the battery I had at the time as well as cost and warranty. Once I picked one out and there were no other customers to check out, the guy replaced my battery in a matter of minutes and even explained what happened to it (there was some corrosion on the battery). Young woman who serviced me was very professional and helpful when testing and purchasing a new battery Monday. There was no delay or questioning, she was all about getting it done and without delay went out to my car removed the battery cover, tested it and decided it was a bad battery. She presented three options and instructed me to put some anti-corrosive gel on the new battery terminals when I replaced it. Thanks for your help guys. Get more employees like her. I am impressed with their customer service. I walked in a Wednesday morning about 9 am and there were three people working. The first person immediately greeted me and she offered to help me look for whatever I needed - in this case wiper blades. She quickly looked it up and pointed me to where they were. After I selected the blades, I asked if they installed them (like their competitor O'Reilly). Yes, they did. After waiting in line to be checked out, one of them came out with me to my car to install the blades. They were done in less than 5 minutes...I even tipped the guy who did it. Hey, he got his hands dirty while I watched. Great experience. They need more parking spaces but that was it. read more

I purchased an A/C Delco coolant temp sensor. The store said they had it in stock, but when I get there they tell me they can not find it and that the inventory is wrong. So I then special order the sensor and she says it is coming from the hub and will be there in the morning. I came back in the morning and they can't find my receipt because the young woman did not enter my phone number to save the recipt. Once I find my receipt they look it up and go to find the sensor on the shelf. Then they came back and said that it was not ordered because the system saw one in stock at their store. That doesn't make any sense because the lady that said that was the one that KNEW it wasn't in their store and that it needed to be ordered. Big screw up on their part. I guess not everyone takes their job seriously. read more

Sam is truly a Good Samaritan! We didn't ask for help, but he saw us in the parking lot and graciously offered to help us clean the acid off our battery, test and replace the battery, replace our windshield wipers, and replace bro headlight bulbs. I even learned where the vertical adjustment knobs are for my headlights and got tips to leave one higher for longer range with both lights roughly 35" above the ground. I'll be coming back to this Autozone, thanks to Sam! It's the best service that I've ever received at any auto parts store :) read more

Straight trash. I've been coming here for a solid two years. I've generally had off and on luck but today was such a horrible experience that I will never return. First, there was an associate stocking batteries and he could obviously see a line of about 6 people beginning to form. I am currently on crutches and was at the front of the line and didn't want to walk all the way over to ask so the gentle man behind me was kind enough to get his attention. He then called out for another employee to handle it and after 3 minuets and no response I was getting pretty irritated. I could hear two people talking behind the back-stock wall and I called out "Can someone help us" A lady, who appeared to be the manager comes around the corner, proceeds to clock out and head out the door. Totally disregarding the line of people and lack of employees who have the motivation to live up to their basic job requirements like assisting customers. Then, a guy pops up, who is the person I assume the original employee was calling out for. Now this guy was clearly high as a kite.. and trust me, I have absolutely nothing against weed and smoked for quite a few years myself but never at work. It's totally not cool when it begins to affect you ability to do your job properly. And common man, at least put some eye drops in.. He then looks up the part number and I ask if he can assist me with swapping about the battery because again... I'm on crutches.. I would have had no problem doing it myself if the circumstances were different. He then tells me he can't help me and at this point I just leave because I'm tired of waiting and being treated like an inconvenience to some lazy, high, has been. Will definitely be taking my business to Orileys from now on. Drove down the street and the guy at O'rileys looked up the part number and ASKED ME if I needed help swapping it out. What a difference in customer service. Autozone, you should consider drug screening your employees at the Millbrae location because you obviously have employees on the job stoned with a lack of motivation and no customer service. Wouldn't have cared if this guy was high and he did his job right, but this was just not the case. read more

Brea there is amazing - literally single handedly helped me check, pick, and replace the headlight bulb which has been an annoying issue of my car for a long time - even got a ticket from the police for it - and only paid $19 for the bulb itself. What can I say about Autozone? They were here for me when my car battery died. I purchased a jumper pack from them only to realize that my battery was too far gone to revive with just the pack, so they allowed me to return it with no issue. At that point, I purchased jumper cables from them to successfully jump my vehicle. They also had snow chains/cables on hand for a Trip to Tahoe, which was convenient and appreciated. read more

Just arrived from a 4-week vacation and picked up car at the long term parking. Just as I was about to climb the ramp leading into SFO, the battery died. Now what. I had to walk from SFO ramp to their store. I've have the kindest experience with this Autozone! I called with a dead battery late afternoon at around 7pm stranded at SSF bart station. Upon calling to be sure this location had my car battery type, I mentioned that I needed a jump. Spoke with Sam and he offered to send a driver I think his name is Daniel to jump my car. I was a bit skeptical at first but had no other choice really. Weirdly my car started before he arrived, I called Sam he advised for me to still wait for the driver to come in case anything went wrong. Mind you, Millbrae to SSF was at was at least a 20 min drive! Got to Autozone they checked my battery first,(confirmed it was old) got the new battery and Sam decided to stay late to install it for me! He scraped the bolts, used his own tools, and gave me some car advice. I was extremely grateful, above all he refused my tip and wanted me to consider it to be a holiday gift. Very poor customer service... I walked into this place @ 6pm looking to buy front and rear brakes for my vehicle also an antenna adapter.. No 1 acknowledged that I needed help... When I go to 1 of the employees to ask a question about which antenna adapter would fit my vehicle, the employee directed me to were I was in the first place...wouldn't help me mostly ignoring me.... So I said thank you for nothing and on the way out I said I'm going to O'Reillys since they know customer service, and they are always helpful... THANK YOU Sagani Diaz! We noticed that one of my Highlander's headlamps went out so we stopped off at AutoZone to pick up some replacement bulbs. We chose the Silverstar Ultra, for ultra night vision. For added light, I run my fog lamps all the time, but the Ultra provides extra light for distance. When it was time to check out, Sagani highly recommended that I purchase, "Bulb Grease". This mainly helps prevent oxidation on the contacts and was only a little over a buck. He also told us to not handle the bulbs with our bare hands and threw in a pair of disposable gloves with our goodies! It would be dark soon, so upon exiting the store, we decided to change the bulb right there. My Highlander has a rubber cap with a hook on it which made it difficult to access the old bulb. Sagani TO THE RESCUE as he donned a pair of gloves and began his magic! In a matter of no time, both bulbs were replaced and we were safely on our way! I LOVE customer service like that...very HANDS ON! read more

We hesitantly entered this store, knowing, beyond a doubt, that we would be talked into buying snow chains for a recent trip to the snow. All I wanted to know was "Do we really need chains if we have snow tires AND four-wheel drive!?" Well, aside from the generic, "Well, it depends..." response, he proceeded to ask about the make/model of the car & which direction we were headed. He gave us a general price range and informed us that they didn't have the chains we'd need in stock at their site, and that the closest location who did have what we needed was in Oakland. Not only was he thorough about researching bay area inventory for us, but he made sure to give us precise directions to the Oakland store, off the Fruitvale exit, in case we decided to purchase them. In retrospect, there was nothing spectacular about this particular experience, but I always appreciate not being pushed into a sale, particularly when it's about something I don't really know too much about. Plus, I like thorough service. He could've easily told me "Yes, you'll still need them" and lied about some legal requirement or inclement weather forecast, but he didn't. Thanks for the honesty AutoZone guy! Plus, in the past, they also had a knob replacement for my air conditioning switch! Another big plus for having what I need in stock. read more

I went here yesterday to buy a new bulb for one of my headlights. The store manager, Gordon, was very helpful and even put the new bulb on for me since I had no idea how to do that. He also told me to come back and they'd help me out when the other bulb went out. He definitely went out of his way to help me, I don't know too many places that will do that for you and not charge you extra. Definitely coming back here when I have any car issues. Came to get a new battery and brought in my old one, knowing it would save a trip. Right away I was helped by their sales people who were awesome and looked up the right model for me. Problem was one of my cable clamps was stuck on the old battery and they didn't have the exact replacement parts. This is when Chris comes in and saves the day. Without me even asking, he gets some tools and safely removes the clamp and then cleans the acid residue off. It was usable again. I could not be happier with the service here. AutoZone probably doesn't need much reviews BC the choice for auto parts and car care kits is limited to AutoZone and smaller shops. But this is the one to go to. Pricing is probably the competitive so I just wanted to comment on the service especially after reading the last two 1-star reviews about the service. I only was there for five minutes to have my battery checked but I noticed all the employees were all very helpful. When someone walked into the store nearly all the employees would look up and see if they needed help. Even a guy who clearly was leaving work (he had his backpack on) turned to a customer and asked ... "Can I help you? Oil caps? Sure let's get you some help with that." And walked him over to the parts counter. Drew who helped me went so far as cleaning the corrosion off the battery with a spray to test it properly. Luckily no need for replacement. No upsell , no condescending attitude. So AutoZone management: you guys are lucky to have such a helpful staff. Employees are hard to find here in the bay area and good employees.... Those are rare and you guys have a whole store of them. read more
