So these days I typically daily drive a Civic and so life has been very uneventful. No tows no problems - just fuel up and step on the gas. Yesterday I found myself ooogling CL classified ads to quench my quirky automotive interests and I found a nice modern classic with very low mileage and lots of deferred maintenance. Today I simply did some cleaning in and around the engine and changed the oil and filter. The oil that came out looked like it came from a diesel - black as tar. I got the house brand O Reilly type - as I don't want synthetic in such and old car and figure changing oil often is more important than having the highest quality oil. I was impressed to find the parts I needed - except the air filter - which I just got on eBay and will happily be on my way. I'm enjoying the unique exhaust note and when I fire it up I feel as if I could leave anybody in the dust. This is the GT version after all. Yes its great, its running better than ever. I cleaned the mass air flow sensor and I noticed higher MPGs immediately on the instant fuel economy reading in the all digital dash. This 37 year old car somehow still feels like a futuristic space ship. It was all done so fast - quicker than the dealer I suppose since I've got a good set up with everything I need within quick reach.

I drove all the way from Santa Clara. When I got back to the shop, my mechanic discovered the wrong batteries, called Powerstride and the counter guy was unresponsive to our needs. We wanted a US Battery brand and he said he won't order just two barreries for me even though they are distributers for the US Battery brand. After calling US Batteries, the owner of Powerstride called me and said I could return the two batteries, even though we had to install them in my truck to move it into the shop overnight. When I went back to Powerstride from santa clara, they decided they wouldent take the batteries because it had a scratch on the batterey posts. They are not trustworthy and directly lied to me.

Found out I needed to check my coolant. Found the nearest auto place to me to avoid any damage due to prolonged driving. The staff were helpful and friendly. As I was purchasing the coolant they advised me to wait at least thirty minutes as a safety measure for the car to cook down and the coolant not explode from the combustion. A nearby Pupusas restaurant was recommended. How timely considering I hadn't eaten. I seem to be notorious for leaving the house on an empty stomach or having very little before leaving home. Anyhoo, Josiah an associate walked me to the Pupusa which was very close but I wasn't too familiar with the area. I ate, returned to the store and Josiah put the coolant in for me.
