I rented skis through the AlpinResorts website for a week of skiing in Grindelwald. My flight out…read moreof the US was cancelled and I left a day later. Not wanting to have my rental cancelled, I emailed their general email address and got a prompt reply confirming that my rental would still be good. Upon getting to Grindelwald, the shop is located on the main street. The rental portion of the shop is located downstairs. The selection of skis was excellent, with a good selection of all-mountain and racing skis. All of them looked brand new. This is a bit unusual, as I've definitely had some well-used skis in the past. The staff member who assisted me set the skis up perfectly. He felt bad that I had pre-paid for the rental via the website and mentioned that AlpinResorts can be difficult to work with around trying to get a partial refund. I mentioned that I had travel insurance and would pursue it through that avenue, but I appreciated his concern and commentary. He had some interesting tips for where to ski in the area and mentioned that the snow wasn't all that great to start the week. He said that if I didn't like my choice, a pair of Volkl's, I was more than welcome to bring them back and swap out for something else. At the end of the week, returning skis/poles were a breeze.

If you want to bike in the city just expect a direct verbal insult. Better yet don't waste your time here. I came with friends but I would never bring family here. Seeing family get verbally assaulted is not my idea of a fun time.

#227 Searching for something besides a souvenir or watch…read moreshop in Interlaken? Then look no further than the Patagonia store. Lots of the great Patagonia gear and really good selection-- they even sell wetsuits in this shop! In fact, I believe they're the only Patagonia store in Europe where you can purchase wetsuits. The prices aren't really discounted, but being Patagonia-- that's not entirely unexpected regardless of where you go. Great staff, very chill owner who's also an avid surfing himself, and a prime location right in the middle of downtown Interlaken. Patagonia's just taking off in Europe (and playing a bit of catch-up to TNF), but happy to support the company and its mission!

We were served by Maike in the store who was super professional and fun to interact with. She was very knowledgable. We also received a 2.5 hour lesson from Henry who was the best ski instructor we have ever had. He taught us to ski in about an hour and then we rode the mountain with him for the rest of the lesson. He was the man. 100% recommend lessons from this guy. I rented snowblades with them and ended up liking them so much that I purchased the blades from them at the end of my rental. They have a sweet rent to buy program where they apply the cost of rental to the purchase of the skis. I ended up getting a sweet deal in addition to a new ride! Buri Sport is awesome.

Yelp Review 2026 #130:…read more I was having a footwear emergency. I bore a hole on my shoes from all the walking (especially downhill) I've been doing in Switzerland. I had to switch to my hiking boots but they're not great for city walking. Hopping from one part of Switzerland to the next, I was checking stores for a replacement pair of shoes without luck. It's an emergency but I'm not desperate. I want something that can withstand miles upon miles of walking/ running but still look cute. While walking in Interlaken, I saw this store and walked in without expectations. They had shirts, hoodies, jackets, Swiss souvenirs, watches, sunglasses, bags, and shoes. I stared long and hard at their shoe display to make sure I'm making the right decision. I locked in on New Balance so, I asked for my size. Too big! I went half a size smaller - the only pair they had left in that size was the display so, I took it. I asked if there was a discount since it's the display. Unfortunately, there was none. Service was friendly. It was (I'm assuming) a family of Koreans running the store. I walked away with a pair of shoes that I needed. I wore them the very next day.
