The staff is helpful, and will happily break out their (sometimes rusty) English if need be. We mostly shopped in German, but once you start looking for books in English the conversations tend to follow suit. Picked up a new hostel liner for hut-to-hut hikes, didn't find the book we hoped for, and figure I'll be back next time I need some ski gloves.

Winter or summer, wind or snow, it's always a pleasure to unwind, get away from the town and be in contact with the nature. When the time comes to replace the rubber tips of your trekking poles, your best bet is Kaktus outdoor. Best place in town to find everything related to mountain sports: hiking boots, backpacks, functional clothing, skis, snow-shoes, rock climbing equipment and so on.
