International Diamond Center -- BEWARE. If you value your jewelry, your money, or basic honesty, read this before you trust them with anything important. Three years ago, I purchased my two-tone wedding band from them. It was my perfect ring -- white-gold center channel, bright diamonds, and a gold rope design on each side. A few months later, I took it back just to get it cleaned... and the cleaning ruined the ring. They admitted it happened because of the way the rope detailing reacts during their cleaning process and replaced it. Fast forward to this year -- I needed my ring sized up, and I made it extremely clear: "Do NOT clean my ring. Only size it. Last time you cleaned it, you ruined it." I repeated this multiple times. When I returned to pick it up... They cleaned it anyway. And ruined it AGAIN. But this time, instead of taking responsibility, they tried to blame lighting and camera angles, even though all my pictures were taken: * in the SAME store * in the SAME lighting * in the SAME exact spot The difference is not subtle. Anyone can see it. Then they told me the ring is no longer made and that I would have to pay out of pocket for a custom rebuild -- even though THEY damaged it. Not once. Not twice. Not three times. FOUR TIMES. This most recent ring they handed to me -- the one I refused to accept -- was the FOURTH time they attempted to fix their mistake, and they expected me to walk out with a ring that looked nothing like the one my wife placed on my finger on our wedding day. Compare the photos yourself (attached): * The gold ropes are flatter, less detailed, and look almost melted down * The width is thinner like it was over-polished or over-worked * The overall craftsmanship does NOT match the original This isn't "lighting." This isn't "angles." This is the result of their work -- and their refusal to admit it. I've been extremely patient with them over the years because they did replace it the first time. But after ruining it again and trying to make ME pay for their mistake, I'm done. If your ring has sentimental value, or if you want a jeweler who stands by their work, go to literally any other jeweler. Don't trust IDC with your big purchase in your big moment! Untrustworthy, will nickel and dime you, and offers little selection. For the men and women reading this, don't waste your time with IDC. If you are in the military, I also do not recommend. Ultimately IDC ruined my engagement in Hawaii. With 3+ months advanced notice, IDC sent me the wrong cheaper version of the ring. Wrong material and a cheaper quality of material. They blamed the ring company. They attempted to make it right but the damage was already done. I had to move my engagement. The only reason I didn't push for a full refund was because it was the ring my fiancée wanted. IDC sent me a fraction off the price of the ring and gave a credit off a future purchase. A year passed and I somehow decided to give IDC a second chance to shop for wedding bands. (to use the credit). When trying to make the future purchase, we were at final checkout and I presented the gift card. The attitudes changed and they then magically stated it could not be used with items that the representative gave a discount on. This is not a term written on the credit note I received. If a company sends you the wrong ring, ruins your engagement, and doesn't stand by their word when trying to make it right, how can you trust that the ring they gave you is what they say it is? As I said, For the men reading this, don't waste your time with IDC. It's stressful enough picking out a ring for the person you love and financing, and I lost years on my life dealing with their process. If you have expensive taste, they barely have any selection. If you disregard everything I say, and still go with IDC anyway, ask for Nabeel Kandah. He is knowledgeable and the best person my fiancée dealt with when trying to use our credit for the third and final time. Cannot recommend IDC. Today I had the most HORRIBLE experience at IDC in Clearwater with Chad. After spending more than 250k in two of their stores. I went to buy 43 Ounces of gold. I wasn't happy with how this animal treated me so I told Chad I wasn't purchasing anything from him. He began to raise his voice. Eventually screaming at the top of his lungs. He displayed himself as being immature and cowardly. Thank God my mother was with me and witnessed this. I highly suggest everyone to ban these amateurs. My partner and I visited the store on March 22 to look at engagement rings. We were immediately greeted by a salesperson and had a very good experience looking at the different options. Since I hadn't purchased the stone yet, the sales person made an appointment for me to come back the following month to purchase the setting. He specifically scheduled my appointment for the weekend of their semi annual sale so I could get a discount on the ring. I showed up at the store for my appointment on April 26 and looked at the setting my partner picked out. I noticed the price was $500 higher than it was in March. I had taken pictures of the ring and tags during my first visit so I knew exactly what to ask for when I came back. As a result, I knew for a fact the price was different. I made a comment about it to the sales person and explicitly asked if the price was marked up for the sale. He assured me the store doesn't do business that way and told me the increase was due to a rise in the price of gold. The sales person must've double-booked himself because a few minutes later he abruptly passed me off to another sales person and went to help a couple who had just come in. The person he passed me to rung me out and I left the store. However, I still felt a little confused about the price and it was making me uneasy so I called the store on my way home and inquired again about the large increase. Once again, I was told this was due to the increased price of gold. I also made another call to the store because I noticed the item number on the receipt was different than the item number on the ring and wanted to make sure there wasn't any kind of mix up. I spoke to the woman who checked me out and she explained that those numbers are always different. She made a comment that 'she's pretty good and her job' and 'knows what she's doing', which I'm only mentioning because those comments ended up being ironic since there actually was a mishap with the order. Later that day, I went directly to the website for the ring brand I purchased and noticed the exact same ring was listed on their website at $250 less than what I paid at IDC. I immediately texted the salesperson I had the appointment with to let him know about the price difference and ask why I was charged more. He looked into it and said they charged me for an 18k gold ring instead of 14k gold ring and he would work with the manager to get me a $200 refund. I was still a little confused because the price I paid was less than the price of the 18k ring listed on the brand's website and my receipt reflected 14k. Someone from the store called me to issue a refund and I asked why the refund was only $200 when the price difference was $250. The person I spoke with put a manager on the phone who adjusted the refund. I asked the manager about the price discrepancy and she said she would ask the brand rep who happened to be in the store that day because of the sale. After a brief hold, I was told that the price on the brand's website was actually a sale price - but they were going to honor it. That was a red flag to me because I'd already been told that this brand does not do any kind of sales outside of events like the one at IDC. I also called the brand's flagship location, and they confirmed that I should've been charged the price listed on their website, not the higher price I paid at IDC . I ultimately decided that I did not feel comfortable with the situation and drove back to the store, spoke to a manager (not the same one I'd previously spoken to on the phone), and requested that my order be canceled and refunded. He obliged and was very apologetic. However, this was the first time someone actually apologized. While everyone I interacted with prior had been polite, they did not apologize or take accountability for the situation. Overall, the experience was very disappointing. From the salesperson seemingly double-booking himself to being overcharged (with multiple explanations as to why), I felt there was very little attention detail and an overall lack of professionalism. read more

I really enjoyed that there was absolutely no pressure to purchase. Our sales associate was extremely knowledgeable and so patient as I asked him to show me nearly 20 bands after we decided on the center stone. (Sorry again lol) I didn't see the final product until he proposed and I was BLOWN away. It was more beautiful than I ever imagined. Visited International Diamond Center on Ulmerton and met with Veronica to look at engagement rings. She was absolutely wonderful, so patient, knowledgeable and personable. I went in kind of knowing what style I was looking for but she was more than happy to show me any style/color I wished to try. They provided complimentary water, soft drinks, champagne, and bottled beer! Veronica took the time to explain the differences in color, cut and clarity while keeping a budget in mind. After looking at a few diamonds and still wanting to see more, she went back and got a few more to look at. She explained financing and payment options while again being respectful of a budget. When I was concerned about upkeep, cleaning and inspections, Veronica made sure to make us aware all of that would be included with our purchase. If I ever wanted to upgrade IDC would give 110% for my already purchased ring. I was in there looking for something very specific I had one person who knows he seemed uppity was able to answer my questions about several different types of jewelry while everyone else stood around and looked at me you were turned their heads as if I wasn't there and I didn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling about being there and it was rather inappropriate for whoever this young girl was to be standing there talking about her personal affairs as I left the building I guess it's more important to stand around and talk about your personal life or act as if you don't see the customer then to give good customer service....but it's all good, I just went to a different jewelry store on the same street and purchased my items there. We were quickly helped by Nabeel who was patient and kind showing us our options, and finding exactly what I wanted. We had no problems, were treated well, and found a gorgeous ring that I love so much. If you want the typical snobby jewelry experience come here. I walked in and was told I needed the pick up slip. Which I wasn't told I needed when I dropped of the jewelry, but that's fine. After finding it I couldn't find the sales rep who told me to get it. I stood there for about 10 minutes waiting for someone else to assist me. Finally I flagged someone down. They then gave me a hard time about getting a box for my ring after they broke it. Mind you they had no problem with kids running around and jumping all over the jewelry cases. We were first assisted by Alvin and then Michael eventually took over as we made several trips shopping for our perfect bands. Both were very friendly and welcoming, but Michael really went above and beyond with us! My husband and I are both extremely particular and he was so patient and helpful throughout the whole process. Michael worked with my husband when it came to negotiating price and he really gave us a steal! I even had them reset my engagement ring into a more Tiffany style setting with a slightly thicker band and it came out perfect!!! Let's talk about wedding bands! I couldn't love mine more! I wanted a 7 stone shared/uprong setting and they custom made it to perfection, Michael even showed me during one of our visits the diamonds he hand picked for my ring along with the wax mold. My husband's band was exactly what he asked for and we had a short timeframe to get them in before the big day and they delivered and even engraved his band in time with our wedding date. (Now hubs has no excuse to forget our anniversary lol) We're so happy we went to IDC and their lifetime warranty was very important to us. Why 4 stars? Because I don't know a ton about rings, but I felt at ease here. --- --- --- I normally try my best to abstain from rating businesses against their competition in my reviews. It's kind of tough here, because I can only compare my experience with the only other jewelry store I've been in. This happens to be IDC's neighbor, Gold & Diamond Source. Gold & Diamond Souce was incredibly pushy. It was like I was buying a knock-off watch in Chinatown in NYC. I had the finance paperwork thrust into my face before I had even begun to agree upon making a purchase. I was told, "we give you VIP discount," about 30 times while I was eyeballing my options. Well... no you aren't giving me "VIP discount" because you don't know me. If you gave "VIP discount" to every customer that you talked to for eight seconds, you wouldn't make a lot of money. We eventually told them that we weren't going to purchase from the first place we looked, so we drove next door to IDC. This was a 180 of our first experience. Our sales man was more insistent about our budget than we were. He advised against some of the higher-priced diamonds, and was incredibly laid back throughout the whole process. I ended up buying an engagement ring for about $300 less than the one GDS was offering me. Plus, my new fiancé thinks her ring is the best thing in the history of the planet Earth. I don't know a thing about diamonds, but she gets tons of compliments, so we must have done something good. We haven't had it appraised yet, but once we do, I might be upgrading to 5-stars. read more

Back and forth texting to someone...he was clueless! Bashed the diamond to say it was cracked and would need t be re-cut if they purchased it, TOTAL BS! Offered me $2500-$3000. Ha! When you walk into any jewelry store you are immediately swarmed by sales people and just like at a car dealership or a high end clothing store, they want your sale - they want the commission. And I HATE that! GET OFF ME, I'll tell you if I'm interested in something. Don't follow me around or keep talking to me distracting me from what I'm looking for! I found IDC to be very different, it was very low key and comfortable. No one chased me down and I was free to look at every single case without someone on my back! THAT was nice. It wasn't until we asked questions about a particular piece, someone always there to assist showing you anything you want.... Although I didn't find anything in the cases that I was interested in at that time (well there was one set that was unique and absolutely fabulous which I will keep in mind for the future......), we opted for a custom made piece - which we had shopped around for over the last 2-3 years from 2-3 different places and agreed on a price that was ever so slightly higher than the rest for twice as much gold and included VS, colorless diamonds in this design. None of the other custom designs included stones and we're talking just a few hundred dollars more in this new design. And I cannot wait to see it! When I get it, I may update this review. So far I'm happy with the service and really like the no pressure environment. Very important to me. read more

My fiancé and I went to IDC to purchase my engagement ring due to their esteemed reputation in the community and surrounding cities. We had heard great things not only from reviews but our friends and colleagues as well. I fell in love with a three stone ACMB style Henri Daussi, but we failed to put down a deposit and lost the ring. My fiancé felt terrible we lost the one I wanted, so he took the time to hand select a loose diamond from IDC and he placed a special order for the same setting, just using the diamond he bought. Worked out better for me because the diamond I got was significantly larger and deeper than the first ring! Henri Daussi took a very long time to turn around the setting, over 5 weeks. Once we finally received the ring, it turned out to be terribly crafted, to be frank. My fiancé and I have been together over 8 years and We both have waited a long time for this perfect moment with the perfect dream ring given to me by my perfect dream man. So when we noticed all the craftsmanship flaws, including two missing diamonds from the main halo, I flew into a fiery frustrated rage. Brian, the VP of IDC himself, took my phone call, heard my complaints and responded. I must say I was impressed by the passion he carries for his family's business- it is contagious. He personally met with my fiancé and me the next day, saw the flaws in the setting for himself, simply did a swap with one they had on hand in their display case that, like fate, matched my diamond's measurements perfectly, and had it resized, all in under an hour. The difference in quality is night and day, the ring is absolutely breathtakingly gorgeous and when anyone sees it for the first time the most common thing we hear is, "That ring is stunning!" Couldn't have done it without the kindness from Bobbi from the beginning helping alleviate my anxiety since we all know buying a ring is a stressful experience no matter what, the salesmanship of Kelly and Michael who worked with my fiancé on pricing to make me a happy woman, and Brian for fixing a vendor defect with professionalism, charm, lightning speed, and kindness. Complete scam artist!! They say they don't mark up their prices but yet I talked them down $1700 and engagement ring. So THe setting was one price and the diamond was another and they're sneaky ways they took 1700 off the diamond and didn't discount the setting . Because their policy is that you can get your money back on the diamond in 30 days but not the setting.Then when I offered to sell it back to them they only offer me a total of $1300 with the setting and diamond. I paid 3500 which it should've been $5200 on the original price now it's only worth $1300 90 days later. Stay away they will screw you. read more
