They even let me design a new wedding ring for my wife using the original ring and other diamonds sold to me from there. I bought a Rolex Watch for almost $1,200 less than the other shops. I've been doing business with Arnold's for over six years and have always had positive experiences, until now. I brought in a 14k gold brooch to sell, but Ray didn't even bother to look at it. Instead, he went off on a tangent about losing money on resin-filled pieces that turned out to be fake, which had nothing to do with the item I brought in. He didn't even take the time to actually look at or test the piece. It felt like he didn't want my business at all. I was honestly so baffled I left. When I got home, I tested the brooch again. It definitely was 14k gold. I called the store and spoke with Ray. He told me to cut it in half and if it's hollow bring it back and he'll buy it. If he inspected it from the beginning, he would've known that. The brooch was light and there were two tiny air holes on the back. I've been buying and selling gold for quite some time and know what I'm doing. I returned less than an hour later with the brooch and a 10K stick pin I had shown him at the initial visit. The brooch weighed 5 grams on my scale, but when I asked about the pricing, he said they go by pennyweight. After doing the math at home, it appears I was shorted. I always check the live gold price on their website beforehand, and I feel what I was paid didn't reflect their rate. To make matters worse, the 10K stick pin he had just valued at $58 the initial visit was only paid out at $32. I didn't catch this until I reviewed the receipt afterward. With the amethyst stone removed I know it had to weigh at least 1gram. Should have paid out at about $50 not $32! Over the years, I've recommended Arnold's to many people and even left two 5-star reviews on Yelp and Google. I've always worked with Zack or his sister and never had any issues, which is why this experience with Ben was so disappointing. If I choose to sell here again, I will definitely bring my scale to double check weights and pricing. Especially when dealing with Ray. I'd like to add that we don't just scrap at Arnold's. My youngest has bought Pokémon cards here as well. I have to say, they have an amazing selection. Especially when it comes to the Japanese booster boxes. read more

I brought in my tennis bracelet for resizing and gave a clear, specific instruction. I wanted it to fit snugly, with no more than one finger of space. The sales associate, Molly, physically held the bracelet on my wrist to show the intended length, and based on that, I agreed to move forward. When I picked it up, it was still noticeably too loose and did not reflect what was shown to me or what I requested. When I reached out to have it corrected, I was told I would need to pay again for another resize. Charging a customer twice when the original request wasn't properly met is disappointing. At this point, it feels like the mistake was trusting Arnold Jewelers with something as straightforward as a resize. read more

I went in today and could not get anyone to even acknowledge my presence. There was a woman behind a laptop who I presume unlocked the door for me. Upon entering no one even made eye contact or gave me a nod or said anything like we'll be with you soon. There were two women behind the counter helping customers and a man working on some watches. I went over to the left where I saw a man and he said that he was on the buying side. I went back and stood for several more minutes. Finally I got the woman behind the lap tops attention. Said I needed watch repair and she pointed me to the man repairing watches. Igot his attention briefly. He said something I could not hear and made no attempt to help me. Seems like either poor management to not have a system to show customers where they can be helped or wait, or apathetic staff. After my mother passed my father and I had sorted out the possessions of higher value and after personally using Arnold's before I recommended to my Dad we use them for this. The staff is always friendly and very professional. The buyers of metals/coins are well trained in their field, seemingly very knowledgeable. Yes, they are buying these precious metals at wholesale prices but they seem very fair in their monetary offerings and we felt we can trust their valuations. After her collection was fully assessed (about an hour, it was somewhat large) we were given the "buy" figure and it was more than we had expected. After agreeing, within minutes they cut us a paper check. After perusing the sales display area as "They Sell Stuff Too!".... They do have a nice collection of some beautiful and interesting pieces. The estate jewelry they buy is cycled through the sales section for a period of time before going to "melt" materials. I purchased my wife's engagement ring, wedding ring, my Rolex watch, two mens rings for myself among other things over the years (wife's earrings, watch batteries etc.) I have always been told that their policy is, trade-in value is 100% of what you paid on trade in. I purchased a mens 3 diamond ring less than a year ago $1500.00 and it broke (being a hollow gold ring) that I was not aware of. Long story short, they would not fix the ring or even give me 50% "scrap price" of what I paid for the ring less than a year ago. I was told they could give me a "store credit" of $900.00. I went up the street to Johnston Jewelers and purchased a ring of my liking, with a trade-in of my "scrap" ring from Arnold's Jewelers. Let me say that Johnston Jewelers treated me like GOLD!!!
