Great for a new coffee shop! Homemade syrups and strong coffee flavor were awesome. Just a little disappointed I didn't know the Interlude drink was going to be unsweetened or perhaps the girls on bar forgot my sweet and condensed milk they seemed a little confused as the crowd of customers poured in. $8 for a basically short Spanish latte is crazy work but again the flavor was fine and better than the average place. the description of the Interlude latte expectation had me trying to justify the price to myself. read more

Their Interlude coffee is AMAZING. Aesthetically, it's beautiful. The seats are so comfortable There are plenty of outlets. This is now my favorite coffee shop in Whittier. The owner is also a Whittier local. read more

I went to interlude today with my two toddlers. I usually don't take my kids to coffee shops because some aren't very kid friendly (understandable) but my experience here was great. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a man which I wasn't sure if he was the manager or owner but he was very friendly and made conversation with my kids. He made coffee suggestions and I went with the Honey Piloncillo Shaken Latte and the Berries and Cream Matcha. I was a big fan of the Honey latte will order again. The Matcha was also good but I expected it a bit more sweeter. Before leaving the same man asked if I would be taking my drinks to go or to enjoy there because of time I took them to go but he did say that they offer coloring pages for kids sooo with that being said I will go back with my kids to enjoy my latte there :) read more

I was nearby and figured let me stop by: parking was not the greatest. I was given my drinks and I wasn't offered a carrier I had to ask for one. The carrier was flimsy material. I ordered 3 drinks but was only charged for 2. I think the owner was the one who told me but he gave me no energy. He checked and I wasnt charged. No, "sorry let me ring you up". He was just like anyway....he just said the cashier would ring me up. There was a line so I don't know if he expected me to wait in line again. I told the cashier and he ran me up. If your reading this and saying "what's the problem?" The problem is the energy. Even the cashier was confused cuz he heard me say 3 drinks. I understood it happens but not taking the initiative to make it right annoys me. I was the one who spoke up. I see other people saying the owner introduced themself. I got nothing if that was him. I didn't like the energy from him. The cashier was so sweet and kind. For a $9 matcha your better off going elsewhere. There's Bark Coffee nearby and others. read more

Atmosphere is very awkward owner/ cashier is very awkward not welcoming starts taking your order by saying hey ... nothing else and when you finish paying he just walks away doesn't feel like a nice place to hang out at all also it's very dirty they didn't wipe down tables after other ate there so there's crumbs everywhere on the open seating read more

Tried Interlude Coffee today, June 5th, 2026. At first I was hesitant to go back into this place because it was Lift's old building, yet as soon as you step in you can tell the vibe is much different. Friendlier, cleaner, and better ambiance. The cashier was super attentive and friendly, and had great interaction. I ordered a pour over which ofcourse took a little minute but it was much worth the wait. They said the pastries are for Friday - Sundays, but the warmed cinnamon roll was impressively good. Definetly feels like an aesthically pleasing spot that you can enjoy your coffee and get some work done. read more

But I refuse to pay 9 for an iced coffee and 8.50 for a pastry Total with taxes, 1 iced coffee and 1 pastry $19.56 No Thank You Your large coffees and small coffees include the same amount of espresso shots...so in other words if you want a large it's just extra milk and ice. Came here and had the berries and cream matcha, it was solid but I didn't really feel wowed yet. To be fair no coffee shop in Whittier really has a cozy vibe yet, they don't feel like a part of the community and they deserve time to get there. But the decor seems kind of dull compared to the first iteration of Lift, its predecessor. I guess we'll see. read more

Absolutely loved this place - so excited to have a new coffee shop to visit when I'm in the area. The space is so inviting and comfortable. I ordered the peach ice tea (incredible) and the chocolate croissant (absolutely delicious). I needed a space to work and the WiFi was extremely fast. Pretty underwhelming matcha. I paid $9 for a 16 oz and it definitely wasn't worth the price. The employee who took my order seemed pretty uninterested, which honestly should've been my first clue. Unfortunately, the drink didn't make up for the experience either. read more

This morning I came by with my dog on a long walk. My old lady Labrador was parched and weak from the walk. So, I come in and ask for a water. As soon as I was given the water to my dog, the manager raised his voice in a non passive matter and said "no dogs allowed", this was surprisingly shocking because Whittier cafes are known for being dog friendly. I come here A LOT. I think the customer service is the worst. Yet alone their espresso tastes like dirt water. It seems like they hire people that don't know what they're doing. I've been a barista at high end family owned coffee shops all around socal and this was probably the worst espresso I've had. I care a lot about quality... Another point to bring up as a regular milk drinker it seems their options for alternatives are also limited (so not the best, if you like your options) They are going cheap with their quality and unfortunately Whittier doesn't like getting scammed with the price and quality of their coffee. Yet alone standards are high, with Tranquilo coffee in competition, it's true that Tranquilo is in the lead for the best coffee in town. Perhaps the owner can reconsider their relationships with the customers, because the vibes need to change before the coffee, then the coffee might actually be made with love. Intention matters and the intentions of this place seems careless and snobby. The vibes are dark and stagnate. I wish they can lighten up the place with the people that work there and the design of the place. It's a shame that this place can't level up to the location it's in. read more

I went to Interlude today June 4, and I have to say it was well worth coming from Montebello to enjoy a great Flat White with almond milk. I also treated myself to a chocolate croissant. Let me start with the positive. The interior design is very "chic/rustic" and the minimalist decor is very much to my liking. I don't usually mind paying extra for services because lets face it , it's expensive everywhere. Paid my customary 20% tip and after 2 drinks and 2 pastries bill total was $38. Could of made my own "K-Cup"at home thrown some ice in it and it would of tasted much better then what we were served. The host taking our order was very pleasant . However the barista ( who looked like he was the owner of this place) barked at me when I almost picked up the wrong order. I apologized and I received a "how stupid can you be" expression from him in return. Next time I'll pick up a Starbucks and return just to enjoy the decor and watch people pay way to much for sub-standard drinks. Can you imagine? I'll probably be thrown out and banned for life. Hmmm...Not a bad idea. For the record, believe it or not, I have never written a bad review about any food service I have visited but returned home and decided the place was bad enough to immediately share my negative experience. read more
