In the past, Milgard had always sent out a rep to check the window and measure. They informed us that they don't do that anymore. The measurements that we gave them were incorrect according to them. Danielle took time to talk to me and help us even though we hadn't bought the windows from her. When the panes became so fogged thatI could no longer identify the birds feeding outside my kitchen window, I contacted Aptos Glass. What a find! They carefully measure the windows, and remove and replace just the glass at a fraction of the cost I feared. He worked quickly in a tight timeline between us closing on the house and doing necessary repairs, termite fumigation, all before we needed to move in. The windows look great and are so well sealed we have not had any drafts or smoke coming in even during the 2020 wildfires. These windows were an upgrade in appearance as well as energy efficiency. We are very happy with the Simonton windows - which Kevin recommended as maximum glass area for replacement windows, longevity and warranty support - and very happy with Kevin's work! He just came back out to install a replacement screen door on our patio slider under warranty as the latch had broken, and both the manufacturer and Efficiency window took care of this very, well, efficiently!

Restoring my double hung, wooden sash windows, I broke a window removing the glazing (so sad, this…read morewas antique drawn glass, but it is very fragile, so not surprised) 20"x 39". The window was not square, and they actually cut the window perfectly to size! (That may sound like a given, but no, it is not. One other place had cut a piece for me and they would only cut it one length, I needed 1/8 inch longer on one side.) They sanded the edges and loaded it up for me in my car. The glass is perfect, nothing fancy, just 1/8" but I was so happy with this result! Everyone I spoke to was delightful and very pleasant. I have had glass cut for other windows in the past, but never had such excellent results. I was especially grateful for the sanded (safety bevels) on the edges. I have had to handle fresh cut edges in the past, and I did not know that the sanding was available. Cut edges on glass is really stressful. We will be going back here for any glass needs.
