So it's going on 2 years since they put in pool and screen house. Leaks where screen roof and house roof come together that they still haven't fixed as was in the contract. Paint on pool deck is terrible and so many spots missed, and now the actual finish is coming up in chunks, even under dry areas. No one ever contacted me after initial finish to see if I liked or had any complaint. Then when I called, repeatedly, they don't show up like they say. Thought they were good at first but sure wouldn't recommend now. It's very upsetting and very very disappointing. read more

Let me start by saying they cashed my deposit check in December 2016 and as of today 7/24/17 pool is still not complete and no one can give a date on when it will all be complete. This wasn't a cheap pool but nothing so extravagant that it would take beyond normal time, and there have only been a few rainy days during this process that would have caused for a small delay. The most frustrating part is the complete lack of communication; when they do finally return a call or text its always an excuse blaming a sub contractor, and in turn then subs show up and complain about how unorganized Intercoastal is. We live in a new community in FL and there have been several other pools that stared after by other companies that have been completed. After a lot of research and several visits with other pool companies we decided to go with Intercoastal pools and spa. As stated in other review not the cheapest price but you get what you pay for. They told me it could take 8 to 12 weeks depending on the weather from the day of dig out. It was dug out on 12/08/15 and water in and operating 02/15/2016 The whole process was smooth and I would definitely use them again. (My husband was out of town for 80% of this project) I now have a beautiful back yard oasis where there once was nothing but sand and weeds. I live on North Merritt Island and I had the 20/20 screen put on enclosure and no mosquitoes or noseeums as of yet have gotten in. Do not do business with this pool company. Faulty construction resulting in pool leak in pool plumbing. They poured the screen enclosure concrete right onto this 90 joint resulting in a leak. Worst part is part is they wanted to charge $1,000 to fix the leak due to their faulty construction verses taking responsibility and fixing it under warranty. read more

The Subcontractors work hard but are over worked The builder takes on too many jobs at the same time and cuts corners to get the job done on time. DONT pay them any final payments until ALL WORK is Complete and your 100% sure everything is how you want it. If something is wrong and they have all your money then you will never hear from them again. STAY on top of the Super. every day and demand a schedule. This company might be cheaper than others but the old saying is "you get what you pay for." If your pool is constructed with overhanging coping beware they won't adequately clean the tile (no tile brush) and crud will build up which could lead to algae blooms after heavy rains. - Also beware of lazy pool techs that use any excuse to not service your pool like a lightning strike from a pop-up 5 miles away that resulted in my pool not being cleaned that week that would have been okay if they had come back later in the day or the next day but they didn't and didn't give any credit for it. read more

They have been working off and on mostly off on a pool next door to me they clogged up the drainage ditch with dirt so they could drive over it put a 4" pipe in so it could drain did not work because they are trying to go from a 3 foot culvert to a 4" pipe this is the second time I have called them because it is flooded in front of my home and undermining my ditch and my grass these people are stupid and this is the second time this has happened called both times at 7 am last time was not cleared until 3 pm this time its now 2 pm called again wont tell me what time just it will be today no one can work on my property till this is done since they don`t care what happens to your neighbors property because of their negligence do you think they will yours I have been in construction for over 38 year and would not recommend theses fools construction of a pool should never take more then a month they seem to take a lot longer and from what I have seen have a lot of excuses read more

Do not do business with these people. They are beyond rude and incompetent. We had a $67,500 contract for a pool w/ grotto, spa, paver deck, insulated roof, and screen. During construction we had an issue with the grotto (wasn't built to the design specs). Tom Arnault, the owner, contacted us and said everything would be fixed and not to pay him until we were satisfied. I continued to pay construction installments as they were due. We got down to the end of construction with the last payment of $3375 due. I did not pay this because of the many issues that had not been fixed by Intercoastal pools and spa. At that point the grotto was still smaller than the drawing, the insulated roof leaked in multiple places, the pool finish had multiple blemishes, and the deck and coping did not match due to plaster being spilled all over the coping. None of these issues have been fixed. Less than a year from when construction began (10/16) the paver deck is caving in. Multiple places have 3-4" depressions. I called today 12/18/17 to get someone from Intercoastal pools to come look at it. I was told no warranty work due to outstanding balance of $3375. Buyer beware, do not do business with these crooks. read more

Did not have a pleasant experience with this company for such a high cost item purchased. Constantly having to call and track thier work. They need software program to assist those who have not been propertly trained in tracking a project. Using antiquated resources with poor communication between each other in the office and with customer. Entire construction from signing contract to last payment was over 10 months. January 9, 2019 I want to thank all of you for your letters, phone calls and comments. After posting this review I received a call from the owner of the company, he said he was unaware of the "communication problem" I had been having with his employees and that our spa will be completed and holding water this month!! The owner asked that I take down this post and the one I wrote on his Facebook page, I said yes, I would. Please respect my decision to take down the post from their Facebook page and from my time line. I have everything copied and pasted, if they do not follow through, I will renew and redouble my efforts. Watch out world, I have just gotten a taste of the power of the internet.... Intercoastal is top notch, and I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews. Everyone there is friendly and helpful. My pool was a challenging project and Intercoastal was the only builder willing to take the job. While getting estimates, every other local builder said it was too much work. One builder suggested we buy another house. The supposed top builder in the area spent less than 5 minutes looking at our yard before saying he wouldn't do the job. Overall we are happy with our pool, there were minor glitches along the way but every construction project will have them. One concern was the length of time it took to complete but we were told up front it was busy and some trades may take longer than others. Our neighbors had another pool company and it took about the same amount of time. Whenever we called the office they promptly responded. From an outsiders perspective it appeared they were taking in more business than they could handle, but again, our pool came out as presented on time, and on budget. If we had to do it all over again we probably would have gone bigger with taller hot tub and a grotto but that was a budget decision not the pool company. A couple minor glitches we can deal with are having to repaint the deck in a few spots and an area of deck that doesn't drain well. All very minor. Human beings make pools it's not going to be perfect. In intercoastal's defense, we did not mention these minor defects and decided to work it out ourselves. I would say intercoastal is on par or exceeds other companies in comparison. We had bids from 4 companies and all were within range cost wise of each other. It came down to rapport and attention to detail. One company sales person was bashing intercoastal so they were the first to be taken off the list. Another thing that made us comfortable was they built the pool in our previous home and after several years it was still very nice with no problems. Even though we weren't the original owner of the pool they came out and did a pool school for maintenance. That definitely built in a comfort factor for our new build pool. read more

I've read a lot of comments on many pool companies before choosing to go with Intercoastal. I'm so glad that I didn't allow the few negative reviews to stop me from using them. I signed my contract at the beginning of May and have a completed pool with spa and enclosure just 12 weeks later! The work by all of the contractors that worked on this was amazing. I didn't experience any of the issues that others have expressed. The only delay that I have had was due to the rain, even then they still kept me informed of the rain delays. Based on that I truly believe the phrase that says do something well and a few will post a review, do something even remotely not pleasing and more people than not will write a review on you. read more

These guys build over 200 pools a year and are not concerned with their quality, It took them 4 months to build our 10500 gal pool, there was no schedule, they never updated us on what was going on, not seeing them for 3 weeks at a time, it felt like they were building our pool in their spare time. They poured the pool with a 4-5 foot shallow end, they had to add rebar and repour to get it to the 3 ft level. They located the pump plumbing 4 feet from where it was suppose to be. The final plaster finish is like sandpaper and has rough edges along the step tile that always looks like it has a growth going. We also enlisted their pool maintenance service because we were told they would not honor the warrantee unless we documented the chemical levels and what was added each week, that was 6 weeks ago and so far they have not shown up twice, refuse to vacuum and added chlorine to the saltwater pool after we asked them not to. Looking for a different service now. I would not recommend them to my worse enemy. read more

I have mixed feelings about our new pool and spa, but I can say that I think that the pool turned out great. The constructions seems good. The problems were during construction and the 8 months it took from signing. Things were slow and no one was keeping up with the plan, so I had to call or text them at almost every stage of construction to make corrections. They did keep most of the mess away from out landscaping, so that was nice. I like the design, colors chosen, and the look of our pool/spa. It was just difficult to find out what was going on and the long overdue finish. read more

It was a bit of a daunting experience weeding through pool companies down here especially due to the fact many didn't want to deal with south Melbourne Beach. ICP was not the cheapest company but their price was extremely close to my second choice Blue Marlin. I have to say, like most big projects it's helpful to be hands on to make sure you get what you want. The contractors that ICP hired were professional and extremely polite and neat. They took pride in their work. Most issues that I had were addressed in a timely fashion and always to my satisfaction. My pool turned out better than I had anticipated. Where this company is worth every penny is the followup service. I accidentally got some iron based fertilizer in my pool and had quite a few spots. ICP sent a guy out ASAP to help me fix the problem at no charge for something that was my fault. Absolutely recommended.... read more

Very disappointed. I thought that Intercoastal Pools had a good reputation, but I guess I was wrong. It has been 10 months and they are still not finished. Which I wouldn't mind waiting if I was treated politely or if things were done correctly. But they truly just don't care. Sloppy careless work. Not to mention they were $7000 higher than the other bid I got from another reputable company. They said I didn't get a final walk thru or punch list. After I complained- they did come out and fix one major error but ignored the rest. This experience was worse than buying a used car. There is no communication through the process. All they care about is getting their check and moving on to the next person. They assume that each sub contractor will to the work that they are told to do with no over site. I don't think that they have a single field superintendent that ever stepped foot on our property unless we called with a complaint. The left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. The concrete is already cracking on the deck...the spa was built 4 inches too low (because no one cares to measure) they broke my sprinkler pump...cover my A.C. in dirt, I called to complain and it sat their 3 more weeks until the dirt was moved for the next step in the process.....good thing my house needs a paint job because they scrapped off a bunch of stucco and cracked part of the wall .....almost caused a flood in my house because no one bothered to warn us that we would need a $2000 drainage system. Basically all they care about right now is the builder business and the little home owners like me get pushed aside and crappy workmanship. During a 2 month period they only showed up 4 times. For one of the repaired that they made it took 40 days to order tile- for a 1 day job. I have asked to speak with the owner but apparently he is too busy to call customers back----what does that tell you. They can claim the oldest pool builder in town with a great warranty but your warranty isn't any good when your out of business because of bad service.
