Mitchell did not "sell" any of this stuff to me. I asked for it and we designed an excellent system together. The reason that I am writing the review today is because this is the first time that I have spoken to Mitchell in over two years. I received an alert on my control pad that a battery was low and I didn't know which device needed the new battery. I called Mitchell on his cell phone. He picked up on the second ring. I had the battery in a drawer and he identified the device and walked me through the battery change over the phone. This tells you a couple of things: 1. The equipment that Mitchell sold to me over 2 years ago works without issue. I literally have had not spoken to him in over 2 years because I have NEVER had a problem. My big problem today was that I needed a new battery. I'm OK with that. 2. Mitchell answers his phone. He is extremely responsive and knowledgeable. Mitchell is a good guy. He knows what he is doing and he sells good stuff. I recommend him without hesitation.

He also came back 3 additional times after the initial installation just to adjust some minor issues (which wasn't his fault) and addressed all of them in a timely manner. He made sure that the job was completed - comprehensively. He won't let an issue go unresolved and he will make sure you're happy with the outcome. It left the reader to make their own decision about NY City Blinds. I felt it was a fair, though poor review. The evening of Guy's call he did refund our full cost. I had agreed to leave the shade with my doorman for him to have picked up, once replacements were installed. So, my reponse to Guy's request to take down my negative review is this replacement review: The NY City Blinds two employees that worked with me - Laor, who measured my window and the installer (sorry, I forgot your name) were both polite and actually enjoyable to work with. Guy, the owner was polite, professional and did go out of his way to make me a happy customer. This is New York City and it comes with a host of confounding problems. Manhattan alone is larger than almost every other city in the country! It's crowded. People generally are extremely demanding. There are dozens of choices for EVERYTHNG within blocks of your apartment (home). There is an extremely high expectation for quality. Price, surprisingly given the general wealth of New Yorkers, remains a strong selling point. New Yorkers want the very best products and the very lowest price! It's a tough place to make a business work. It's a tough place to live. Everybody that has a business in New York "is the best" so it's hard to evaluate and select a business that will provide a good service and product and charge a reasonable price. NY City Blinds changed my feelings about their people (except Customer Service - Guy take note!). Guy did try hard to make me a happy customer. I will give his a lot of credit for this. The best I can do is give them two stars for the installation. Guy gets 4 stars. He went beyond what I expect. I do expect Customer Service to improve. The negative review is down. Getting the COI from NY City Blinds was also straightforward. We are super happy with the result - pinch pleated drapes with tie-backs which look really elegant on our bay window. The installers were professional and polite, and the customer service (pre, during, and post) was excellent. The existing locks/door knobs were made of the cheap glass/crystal which can break easily. Due to the high number of locks I needed, I contacted 3 locksmiths for an estimate. Mike of Embassy Locksmith showed up on time and gave me the estimate on the same day. Because of the high number of locks he also waived his service fee. Mike's estimate was in the middle. I chose to go with Mike because of his promptness, demeanor, and professionalism. After the initial deposit, he ordered the locks and was ready to install them by the following week. But I had to change the installation schedule so many times because of a new grand baby arrival and the property was about 2 hours away from our home residence. Mike was very patient with me in spite of my constant schedule changes which I really appreciated. He also made an extra trip with my son and accommodated additional changes. Since the house is very old, many doors required special care during installation. Mike was very creative in making adjustments with extra washers, extra plates, altered strike plates etc, he made all the locks to be functional. This job required about 2 full days. I highly recommend Mike whether it is one lock or many locks. You wont be disappointed.
