Amy's Plumbing - Call Amy's plumbing to help with leaks

    Amy's Plumbing

I was stressed with my toilet not working so I texted Amy's Plumbing and in less than 2 minutes,…read moreAmy texted back saying she would try to fit me in the next morning. I thought "Wow!" She came right on time, diagnosed the problem and fixed it in no time! I asked if I could show her 2 other plumbing problems fearing that she would say no because she had a busy schedule that day, to my surprise she happily agreed, took note of my problems, said she would get back to me as soon as she could to schedule another visit. I thought I would have to replace 2 other faucets, but Amy thought she could fix it instead & saving me time and money!! This is not the first time I've called Amy, but I'm still amazed at how knowledgeable and professional Amy is and how quickly she resolves ANY issues I have and I pray that she never retires, because I'll never call any other plumber!! Amy is the BEST!!!

Extremely disappointing experience. I had been using Amy's Plumbing for a while -- they were always…read moreexpensive, but at least upfront with pricing and the work was done as promised. Unfortunately, the most recent job showed a complete change in their ethics and customer care. I called them to fix a leaking bathtub faucet in my guest bathroom. I was presented with two options: * $850 for a 3-handle replacement but requiring a hole in the wall, and * $1,150 for a 1-handle replacement with a clear promise that no hole in the wall would be needed. I agreed to the more expensive option specifically because they guaranteed no wall damage. While I was off the premises, Amy called insisting the plumber needed to be paid immediately before leaving. I paid. When I got home, I found a large hole in the wall in my master bedroom -- the exact thing they promised would not happen. I called Amy right away. Instead of owning the mistake, she blamed "miscommunication," said the plumber should have called me, and then started gaslighting me by claiming the job was "more expensive" and that I should be grateful that they kept the "old price." Absolutely absurd -- especially considering the already outrageous cost. I offered two reasonable solutions: * reduce the cost to the $850 option (the one that did require a hole), or * fix the wall they damaged. She refused both and showed zero interest in resolving the issue. Key points future customers should know: Pricing has become outrageous; greed has replaced fairness. They do not uphold their agreements -- even written or verbal commitments mean nothing here. Customer care is nonexistent. It feels like they have enough clients and simply don't care about losing anyone. If you're looking for an honest, reliable, and ethical plumbing company, this is not it. I never leave reviews like this, but the level of dishonesty and disrespect I experienced deserves to be public. UPDATE / CLARIFICATION: The owner posted a response that unfortunately does not match what actually happened, so I want to clarify a few key facts for anyone reading this. I was originally given two options for replacing my leaking tub faucet: $850 for a 3-handle valve, with a hole in the back wall. $1,150 for a single-handle upgraded valve, with a clear promise that no hole in the wall would be needed. I chose the more expensive option solely because I was told it would avoid cutting into the bedroom wall. However, when I came home, the wall was cut open anyway, and the tiles in the bathroom were also disturbed. I never received a call, no one asked permission, and no one sent photos before opening the wall. The work was done without any notice. The owner now claims that: the tiles "were not disturbed" (they were), I approved additional work because of corrosion (I was never contacted), and that "no one promised the wall wouldn't be opened" (the entire reason for choosing the $1,150 option was exactly that promise). These statements contradict what was discussed before the job started and what I saw afterward. I asked for a fair resolution -- either: * adjust the price to the $850 option, since that's effectively the method they ended up using, or * repair the wall they opened without authorization. Both were refused. I had used this company before when their pricing was high but transparent. This last experience showed a complete change: the price increased into unreasonable territory, the agreement wasn't honored, and decisions were made without my approval, followed by a response that tried to reframe the situation instead of addressing the issue. I stand by my original review. If you value straightforward communication, predictable pricing, and respect for your home, please be cautious here.

They explained everything and answered all of my questions. The guys were clean, presentable, professional, and very knowledgeable. The cost for the repair was half the price of what some of the other plumbers in the area charge. The work they did is high quality, and I highly recommend John the Plumber.

Installed 1st washer box with zero issues and when he returned a few weeks later to install the 2nd washer box he raised the price to $2400.00 for just the 2nd box alone. I confirmed pricing the day before with the office and then the day of when I questioned the tech and spoke to the manager he was rude and belittled me asking if I read the "fine print". I have never felt so disrespected before in my life. This company is the pure definition of the bait and switch. I would NEVER refer or recommend them under any situation. If I could leave ZERO stars I would. BUYER BEWARE. UPDATE Job was performed by Mainline Plumbing for $650 which is HALF of what I paid for the original job with NO attitude and BS. Also wanted to add that when John The Plumber performed the first install they took it upon themselves to use another contractors vacuum which was damaged and had to be replaced. Do yourself a favor and AVOID the drama with this company.

Unfortunately neither the cartridge nor anything else in the system had a brand name on it. Brought it in to 3 plumbing supply shops. Two had no idea what to use to replace it and the third guessed but was not sure (and turned out to be wrong). Luckily, I found Dan at Davie Plumbing. I sent him photos of the cartridge, and with just the photos, he found the correct replacement. Finding the right cartridge saved me from what I had been told by a professional plumber who wanted to rip out tiles and replace the whole system. Thanks, Dan.

So I went to downtown Miami to get something from the Jewelry wholesalers, but when I returned home…read moreI felt like I was at the beach just entering the ocean. There was water everywhere, it hit me like a sledgehammer but within a few minutes, I regained my composure and realized I had a burst pipe. Once I found the burst pipe I immediately turned off the water from the main valve. I learned when my central AC went out, don't go to Home Depot first lol. Go to the commercial suppliers, they have parts and knowledge you'll never find at Home Depot or Lowes, so I trekked to Davie Plumbing up the street. Unfortunately, the dude working there Dano couldn't locate the repair parts I needed for my issue because the pipes are polyethylene which has been illegal to use in construction in the county since the early 90's I believe. So not many suppliers carry parts or repair items for that particular pipe. So dude told me to go to Home Depot, and said they definitely had the parts. He not only explained to me how to repair the pipe, but he also drew out a schematic of the parts I needed and how to put it together. I went to the Home Depot which oddly is in the same plaza and found the parts with absolutely no help what so ever from the DeVry grads that work there. I actually asked the front desk to send someone to plumbing, and when they arrived I asked the individual the questions and they said, " I don't know". Now this is the person who works in the plumbing section and they're clueless. Just to double-check that I bought the correct items I went back to Davie Plumbing. The Dude validated I bought the correct items, but he also explained in more detail how to fix my pipe with the items I bought. When I arrived home it took me about 15 minutes to fix my pipe, which saved me a few hundred bucks, and probably more since it would have been an after-hours plumbing call. Thanks, Davie Plumbing
