I got a NO SHOW, NO CALL with sewage backed up in my home. John wrote the wrong phone number down and told me they waited for me for an hour at my house. I never got the call to leave work. I would have to schedule again another day. It must have been too difficult for John to look in my file and check the phone number. I hired them before and it was good, 3 stars. Granted, 3 days later a pipe they installed broke at the connection and flooded my bathroom and half of the bedroom. They came right out and fixed it, luckily at no charge but I had a mess to deal with for the next week drying carpet and replacing padding. If I could give this company zero stars, I would. I originally called them because they had installed the plumbing in my home. Recently, my pipes began rattling loudly throughout the house. They came out and told me the issue was the water pressure and charged me $685 for the repair. Unfortunately, the problem was not fixed. After that, they returned three additional times, and the issue still continued. On the fourth visit, they said another repair was needed and quoted us an additional $850. My husband told them he would agree to the repair, but only if they guaranteed that it would fix the problem. He also stated that if it did not resolve the issue, we expected a full refund. At that point, John told his plumber to inform us that they would not continue with the job and that we should find another plumbing company. When we tried calling John afterward to resolve the situation, he refused to answer our calls. We paid $685 for a repair that did not fix the issue, and the company ultimately refused to stand behind their work or communicate with us. Very disappointing experience. read more

I would NOT use this company again. I got a quote for $450 for finding an under slab, very bad leak you could hear without any equipment. The technician was very nice and his office was excellent on the dispatch in terms of speed for my emergency. However, even though the tech insisted he found the leak, he did not even come close. I was with the technician and my contractor to find the leak location, which is what I paid $450 for. The tech took about 15 minutes with his special machine and pinpointed an area where the leak was. I asked him how much for him to fix. Flat $5,500 quote which was shocking. So, I had my own contractor cut a large hole in the tile and then concrete slab to get to the leak. He spent three hours cutting and digging - no leak found even after cutting a three foot long trench chasing the pipes we found. I called the tech back and asked him to return, and sent a photo of their warranty to his boss which supposedly guaranteed satisfaction if within 30 days. He nicely told me it was a waste of time for him come back because he knew the leak was under my kitchen cabinets. So we cut out and dug more - no luck. We then skipped his location and did a floor cut further down the line about 6 feet from where he said the leak was. We found it and repaired the line, the concrete cuts and the tile. I then sent photos and wrote asking for a partial refund of the $450 because having them come out resolved nothing. No answer - just silence. So I am leaving this review for the next person. PS - my contractor doing EVERYTHING including his having got find the actual leak cost me a total of $2,200 - And their quote was $5,500 with no concrete and no tile repair. One year ago I had a whole house water filtration and salt less water softening system installed at my home by Robert at First Response Plumbing. The company was on the manufacturer's list of approved plumbers in the area. Because the system was not installed properly by First Response, one of the cheap plastic connectors Robert used split after only 1 year of use, resulting in a gushing leak. As seen in the photos, and according to a different plumbing company I had to properly re-install the unit, this was a lazy, sloppy job. They also said it was "jerry-rigged". The tanks, especially the heavy, 5-foot tall should have been dug into the ground for stability as instructed by myself and the specifications from the manufacturer. Notice that the stems to the tanks are basically not supported and are twisted by the weight of the large tank. Also, the PVC pipes from the water main were run above ground and strapped to the side of my house with plastic brackets -- yeah they are grey to make them look like metal, but they are thin plastic. These are basically unsupported pipes carrying water all day long. These installation mistakes all put pressure on the cheap plastic joints, causing the issue. I trust professionals who are charging me over $800 for a 3-hour job to take pride in their work and do it right. That was not the case in this instance with First Response. I contacted them about the leak and standing by their work, giving them the opportunity to make this right. But their Response was that since it's been more than a year (1.5 years) the work is out of warranty. This omits the fact that the job was done incorrectly from the start. They did not see it that way. This tells me that they do not care about doing the job right, to make it last, just for the now to get paid. Disappointing and expensive mistake but a lesson learned from using First Response. I hope others can learn from this too. read more

We had an amazing experience with this company. Our shower valve broke on us and at 9pm I researched plumbers on the Facebook group Delray Raw. This company came highly recommended. I messaged them and got an immediate personalized response from the owner and set up a time the next morning for someone to come to the house. I called First Response since I had a good experience with them several years ago. This time I need a kitchen faucet and garbage disposal installed. I called and reviewed what work I needed and then scheduled a time for the work to be done. Paul arrived on time and after reviewing what needed to be done discussed the estimate which I approved. After starting the installation Paul noticed that the faucet would not fit into the opening in the countertop. Paul went to Home Depot searched for a faucet that would fit, text me the information and purchased the faucet and added the cost to my estimate. Paul was very neat, professional and quick. The entire event probably only took a few hours. It's nice to have service companies like First Response vs the ones who really shouldn't be in business. (My home is less than a year old) Quoted $425.00, but that included "insurance and a guarantee" I refused to pay that and asked the technician to leave. A neighbor did the job for me. I've been using this plumbing company for a few years and every time I am amazed at how they show up when they are supposed to and do an excellent job. They always clean up after they are done and typically give at least a 30 day guarantee on parts and labor. When I was shopping for a new shower head and didn't know which to buy, the owner was nice enough to let me send photos to his cell phone so that I was sure to buy the appropriate items. I will give them the opportunity to rectify a poor repair or will edit upon hearing from them. I will simply say this will be a 3rd call back because the repair would not be to anyone's satisfaction. I understand there is a learning curve but I expect employee's to be polite and professional. Update- They had to return 2 more times to repair it correctly and they used a new towel without my permission to wipe rust and grease. They also left grease on my closet carpet, walls and door and pieces of drywall on carpet. One of the repairmen was nice but the first got nasty after I had to call about insufficient repair work. He threatened my dog and got nasty with me too; I was frightened because of the complete change in his personality. Jon Carpenter, the owner was also nasty with me when I explained what happened. Let me tell you how First Response plumbing can improve! First, by showing up!! We contacted them and they scheduled an appointment between 3-4PM. Around 3:45P we contacted them and John advised us that his guy was running a little bit late so when 4:30P came around and no plumber arrived, I called them back and he didn't answer the phone anymore. We sat there in the car waiting for them for 2.5 hours. He stopped answering phone calls and plumber never showed up. This was total disrespect with a customer!!he should have told me to reschedule so we wouldn't be wasting our time, a day before Christmas! He didn't even call back to apologize, explain or give any reason for not showing up at all. He pretty much didn't care about his customer, totally disrespectful. If i could leave less then 1 star I would. Not only did the guy show up and just randomly throw out numbers regarding the cost. Started at $275 to fix a clog in my shower, like crazy. When I said leave the price continued to drop. Since I was leaving town the next day I agreed the rip off price of $125 and would have left it at that. However, this guy instead of clearing the clog just pushed it enough so although now my shower drains all the toilets in the house continually get clogged, which I know is related to the original clog because he explained they are all connected. We had an inside burst pipe in our house in New Hampshire on a Saturday night. I called thirteen "emergency" plumbing places and left messages for each one. No one called me back. Ever. They never called. When I called First Response, a woman answered and immediately put me in touch with the on-call plumber that weekend. He came Sunday. (He would have come Saturday, but we shut the water off and were able to wait until Sunday.) Frank called us and drove three hours to our house Sunday and gave us a temporary fix until he could come back during the week to permanently fix the pipe. Frank was excellent. He came back when he said he would be at the house. He explained everything. Replaced several pipes and put in new shutoff valves. I highly recommend First Response. I hope we never need their services again, but if we do, I will not hesitate to give them a call. Five Stars! read more

Horrible company and leadership from Jon, the owner. Jon's communication is extremely poor! They are never on time. He's hardly ever on the job site to check on the work that his people are doing. Washer machines were plumbed in where sinks were supposed to go. The owner thinks it's ok for sewer drain pipes to have leaks during the rough inspection because "they aren't normally under pressure". Vent pipes were installed on a negative slope thereby trapping rain water inside the pipe and not allowing air to pass through (see picture). Items were stolen from my house and other job sites where his worker was fired for stealing. They don't clean up at the end of the day (see picture). They have delayed the construction job by at least 6 weeks due to a failed inspection and leaking pipes. They damaged a brand new tub during the install. Jon was attempting to set my new tub without cement until I stopped him and stated that they don't usually set tubs with cement. Jon cut a floor pipe under my cement slab and never capped it which caused unexpected and unnecessary damage and expenses once the water was turned back on. They flooded my second bathroom when installing the shower valve because they left the valve in the open position and then turned the water on. They used rubber couplings and hose clamps to join drain pipes that continued to leak (see picture). Jon ran off the job, never returned, and was subsequently fired after not returning several calls and text messages. DON'T HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! HORRIBLE!!!! read more
