With plans that changed drastically over the course of several hours, I my moving date changed from "a month from now" to "3 days from now." I had been in contact with Professional Movers as soon as I knew I was moving, and they were somehow able to magically accommodate my schedule change. Each and every team member, from the email inquiries to phone calls to project manager to movers, treated me with the utmost respect, and a cool-and-collected sense of urgency. Moving Day was of course laden with torrential rain from dawn 'til dusk, but that didn't hinder the team of movers in the least. My old home (as in, "built in the 1920's") was somewhat of a logistical nightmare due to outdated ergonomics, tight turns and treacherously steep stairwells, but the team came in undaunted and figured out the move, item by item. They had every right to be frustrated/peeved by the totality of the situation, but nobody displayed anything but positivity, confidence and "get-sh*t-doneness." The crew was super fast and efficient, and nothing but friendly and conversational the entire time. They took great care to protect my home and belongings from bumps, dings, foot traffic and elements. The day was long and exhausting for everybody involved, but the team remained pros throughout and made sure everything was placed exactly where I wanted it in my new home. I'm so happy that my stuff got moved, but even happier by the level of service provided by the entire Professional Movers staff. Moving is always stressful. I went to my handy dandy guide Yelp to find a reputable plumber/plumbing company. I looked at a few companies and opted for WaterWork Plumbing based on their Yelp rating and location. They were rated a 4.0 out of 5. They were located in a neighboring city. I called on a Friday afternoon and was given an appointment for Monday. No problem! To my surprise, I received a callback that a plumber had become available and could come right then. I was excited to get my toilet situation addressed on the same day. Mark was the dispatched plumber. He was on-time, professional and knowledgeable. He was able to change my push button flusher to a traditional handle one. He also replaced the cap and hoses in the tank to prevent a future call. He even adjusted my water valve to the proper level to have the toilet fill back up quickly. At some point, someone had dialed down the water causing it to fill up slowly. Mark was the man for this day for me! It was the answer for the problem and he was able to eliminate future problems. This was worth every dime that was spent and they get five stars from me. I also have added them as a contact in my phone should I need their services again.

From the very beginning, they handled my belongings carelessly. While packing in front of me, one of the movers broke my olive tree pot--an early sign of what was to come. When my belongings finally arrived in Michigan, I discovered that my jewelry case, which was inside my dresser, was missing--along with all my jewelry. My TV, which had been in perfect condition, now has two scratches on the screen, and my stepladder never made it to my new home. When I called to report these issues, the company's response was beyond infuriating. Instead of taking any responsibility, they were dismissive, unhelpful, and unwilling to make things right. Rather than addressing my concerns directly, they tried to push for a mediator--clearly more focused on protecting their own pockets than fixing their mistakes. This company has no understanding of customer service, accountability, or basic professionalism. They take your money, mishandle your belongings, and then refuse to take responsibility for their negligence. I wouldn't trust them to move a single box, let alone a household full of valuables. If you care about your possessions and your sanity, stay far away from this company. This was, without a doubt, the most infuriating, stressful, and downright awful experience I have ever had.

University quoted me a minimum 4 hour job w/2 men to move items out of a 10 x 15 storage unit in Southfield to a new 1 bed/1 bath 2nd floor apartment in Farmington Hills. They showed up on time and had everything moved into the moving trucks within 1 hour. They moved all the items requested in addition to extra stuff and competently placed them in my apartment; including some assembly. These gentlemen not only optimized their time by taking the shortest route to the destination; but when we got to my apartment... the Operations Manager showed up while they were working to ensure the job was being done right! He extended me his business card, wanted to know my level of satisfaction and left the premises with my smile in tow! The movers left with time to spare.... everything neatly placed and no extra cost to speak of - PROFESSIONAL. The first movers I used were: Top Notch Moving Solutions in Livonia - I can't say enough to warn people not use this company. The owner was a liar who failed to honor his word and then became indignant when I complained. He didn't care if I ever came back. Nobody will tell me I pulled the "race" card of this company - because I am black! The driver, movers, the owner - reckless, slow, didn't provide an accurate quote and charged me twice the price. First, the company has learned the loophole where they only have to "respond," which in their case involves lying, and the BBB will give them points for this action, even while noting the customer remains unhappy. This is how a company with their terrible record and all of their complaints still has a B. Hooray! Nothing works anymore. So, yeah, we had a pretty awful experience with them failing to deliver our property within the estimated acceptable range (by several days), but they offered a per diem or reimbursement for things we'd need to buy in order to make it without our stuff (within reason). Ok, cool, we can understand things happen, but... then we never received the promised check, even after they promised the payment had been approved and was in the mail. And really, the 5 days per diem was fairly worthless as, at that point, we'd gotten our things and found several that had been dismantled and rebuilt improperly or missing pieces, etc. I made a complaint with the BBB and UMS ignored them until the BBB gave up and closed the file. I thought I'd finally blocked out the memory of this entire nightmare (I've left so much out so you have a chance to read it all today), but then got the notice from the BBB that the company had finally responded (after 3 years!), which said they'd delivered within the established range, apologized for difficulties, and given us remedies... but none of that was true. And the BBB responded to me saying these were lies by saying "so sorry, but we're going to close the file (again) and say the company responded to you and you still weren't happy." But the BBB grading system gives them points for this!! So, yeah, it's all a farce. Just burn your stuff and buy new things when you get to your new city.
