Again it's been over a month and the leftover materials are still sitting in my yard. 4.) But when we explained our urgent situation and asked to cancel or at least transfer our contract to our new home -- something that should be reasonable since they haven't done official measurements or ordered parts -- they outright refused. Instead, they told us we'd still be forced to pay the entire $28,000 balance before we can sell our home. We are doing the right thing by making sure the house is up to code for the next family, because no one deserves to feel unsafe in their own home.
