But, after they replaced my tire they told me I should also replace all my break pads and my rotors... not a cheap fix. I decided to wait and ended up taking it to a place in Phenix City near where I work instead. He told me my rotors are COMPLETELY FINE and do NOT need to be replaced. He told me all I needed was new break pads on the front and an oil change... which cost less than half of what Auburn Tire had tried to charge me. Absolutely terrible experience with Tire Engineers/Express Oil Change in Columbus, Georgia. I…read morebrought my 2020 BMW X1 in for a routine oil change and left being told my oil pan supposedly failed due to "normal wear and tear." After getting a second inspection, I was informed the drain plug appeared over-torqued, the oil pan appeared stripped/damaged, and TWO gasket rings had been installed on the drain plug, which I was told is NOT standard procedure. What's even worse is management admitted the second gasket ring was not documented on the invoice, yet continued trying to use the invoice as proof that everything was done correctly. That makes absolutely no sense. If the actual condition of the vehicle does not match the invoice, then the invoice is inaccurate. The store manager, James Dykes, and the regional manager, Scott, both refused accountability and repeatedly doubled down despite the discrepancies. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, I was interrupted, spoken to disrespectfully, and treated as though I did not understand what I was talking about. Scott also refused to provide his contact information and instead chose to call me from a blocked number. The entire experience felt dismissive and incredibly unprofessional. People trust businesses like this with their vehicles and safety. Most customers are not mechanics and rely on these establishments to properly service vehicles with honesty and integrity. My vehicle was not leaking oil before being serviced here, and now I'm dealing with damage and additional expenses that could have been avoided. I strongly encourage anyone using this business to get second opinions, inspect their vehicles thoroughly after service, and keep all documentation.

I initially went on a Saturday, only to find the shop closed--despite the posted hours saying otherwise. When I returned, I waited over three hours just for a basic diagnostic. I followed up with them daily, only to be pushed back 11 days and then given information that completely contradicted what Transtar had told me. Throughout this time, I found them to be extremely unhelpful and not customer-service oriented. While the staff seemed kind on the surface, their actions didn't align--they never followed through and ultimately refused to even email my warranty company, asking me to do it instead. This was a frustrating and disappointing experience. If you're a young Black woman or just someone seeking honest and timely service, I would not recommend coming here. This could have all been communicated clearly from the beginning, but instead I was strung along, ignored, and ultimately left feeling like my warranty coverage was being dismissed. I truly hope Transtar reevaluates their partnership with this shop. Total waste of time.
