But, after they replaced my tire they told me I should also replace all my break pads and my rotors... not a cheap fix. I decided to wait and ended up taking it to a place in Phenix City near where I work instead. He told me my rotors are COMPLETELY FINE and do NOT need to be replaced. He told me all I needed was new break pads on the front and an oil change... which cost less than half of what Auburn Tire had tried to charge me. Suggest getting a second opinion after looking into Auburn Tire.

After the compressor was installed, the system did not operate correctly. The pressure readings indicated a restriction in the system. During the repair, the accumulator/drier and expansion valve were not replaced. When I raised this concern, I was informed that replacing those components was not part of the original scope of work and was quoted an additional $1,400 to complete those repairs. From my understanding, those components are commonly addressed as part of a complete A/C repair and are also referenced in the service description on the shop's website. Throughout the discussion, I made it clear that I was not trying to avoid paying for the work performed, but rather wanted the repair completed in a way that would result in a properly functioning system. At times, it was difficult to fully communicate my concerns, and there was some disagreement regarding the information I was referencing. I clarified that my understanding was based on the shop's own website. Ultimately, we were unable to come to an agreement on how to proceed. The shop removed the newly installed compressor, reinstalled my original unit, and returned the vehicle to me at no charge. I do appreciate that I was not billed and that the shop was willing to reverse the work. However, the A/C system remains unresolved, and there was a disconnect between how the compressor replacement service is described and what was performed in my case.

They lifted my car and brought me into the workshop and showed me and explained that the air compressor was find and what the problem most likely was. I don't know anything about cars and I was glad they tried to explain everything and help me understand. He made note of it and put it in a report in my file for future reference. This was more than a bit scary to me. I do not know how much damage was done over the next several thousand miles, but I am sure it isn't good. This was intentional because even if they did not have a filter in stock, they could have left the old one in and I could have gotten my damn oil changed some where else. It would have been easy to tell me they were full and that I'd need to come back tomorrow. Instead, David listened to my story, took the keys and went to check it out. The battery tested fine, of course. He could have left it at that and sent me on my way. Instead, he looked around the battery and noticed what seemed to be a loose connection. As he thought about it, he noticed the battery was a bit askew. He came back in to tell me what was wrong and that he had ordered the replacement part to secure the battery and fix the connection. 20 minutes later, he handed me my keys, refusing to charge me a dime, and told me to have a good day. As I stood there incredulously, he said he thought they should have noticed it at my last visit, 2 months ago. Of course they should not have. It probably wasn't loose then. However, it is self effacing, compassionate and detailed service that sets Franklin apart from most businesses. It is why I tell everyone about them. In the end, it is why I keep going back.

It's an easy job, as long as you have a lift to easily get to the transmission pan underneath. Once there the guy tells me he doesn't know how do it, and I should go to a specialty shop to have it done. Ok, if you can't drain and refill ATF on a Chevy truck transmission (4L60E, literally the most popular transmission in GM history) you don't need to be advertising yourself as a mechanic shop. Maybe this guy is great at whatever he actually does know about working on automobiles, but you might want to call ahead and find out.

I called Rob and he came out this afternoon and worked on my car. It's a Kia Forte and at the least little thing the alarm goes off. It did but Rob quickly got it off. He installed a new battery and went to get something to go in the gas tank because I had a full tank of gas that had just been sitting there. I was very impress with his work and how polite he was.
