I liked the interaction with the coaches and the combine staff throughout the morning as they did a good job communicating with everyone as well as engaging the athletes. They did a really good job of explaining what the expectations were, how they will get measured. "World Class" so expected nothing less. If you live on this side of town, I would recommend as an option to consider to next the athlete to the next level. Lots of professionals uses facility not only here in Arizona but other athletes around the country & the facility grounds have a lot of equipment to accommodate all types of training and conditioning.

It is expensive, yes, but worth every penny. Their approach is completely integrated - they will oversee nutrition, training, psychology, and recovery in a world class facility. They are extremely scientific and very cutting edge; their staff also contributes significantly to the research community. I was fortunate enough to live in the Phoenix are for 9 months and cannot speak well enough of their staff or their programs. You'll come to improve yourself and will end up drinking the kool aid! Once you get in the swing of things it's hard to get enough of this place, and I shockingly found myself actually looking forward to arriving there before sunrise 6 days a week (ok, a bit later on Saturdays). My physical condition and overall health improved at a breakneck pace and I had a blast doing it! If you're motivated and fortunate enough to train at AP here are a few tips: Chris Brown makes the world's tastiest post-workout shake, the nutritionist Simin Levinson is a wonderful person and an excellent cook, so take her advice on kitchen matters, and if you can get your massages done by Eric Ford, do so - it will hurt but the man is a truly gifted healer. I just cannot gush enough about this place. It is worth saving up for either for yourself or for your athletic kids!

After having major back surgery years ago, my spine has been retaliating in every way possible -- chronic pain, major scoliosis, and slipped vertebrae that have been getting worse lately. I've been going to weekly chiropractic adjustments at different places for years and even completed several months of physical therapy last summer that was prescribed by my orthopedic surgeon. Lately, nothing seemed to be making a real difference in helping me sleep without pain, or be able to sit for more than a few minutes. And I had pretty much given up hope that I could actually get better or see any meaningful correction in my spine. From my very first visit, the team at AFC Desert Ridge made me feel heard and genuinely cared for. My chiropractor took the time to listen to my full history, reviewed my imaging, and created a thoughtful, personalized plan instead of just giving me the same generic adjustments I'd had everywhere else. For the first time in years, I'm actually starting to feel hope again. My pain levels have noticeably decreased, my posture is improving, and I'm already seeing small but encouraging changes in the alignment of my scoliosis and slipped vertebrae that is causing pain to shoot down one leg. The staff is friendly, professional, and truly invested in helping patients heal. The office is clean, modern, and welcoming -- it's a place where you actually look forward to your appointments. If you've had back surgery like I have and feel like you're out of options, I highly recommend giving AFC Physical Medicine & Chiropractic Desert Ridge a chance. They've given me something I haven't had in a long time: real hope that I can get better. Thank you to the entire team -- especially my chiropractor -- for restoring my confidence that improvement is still possible!

I had injured my left foot while exercising on my treadmill at home, and Spooner got me in right away once I realized that I would need a physical therapist. I was assigned to Emily, who is as fantastic, professional, and helpful as every other Spooner therapist has been with me. She knew what she was doing, and I progressed so well that I was discharged earlier than expected. My wife has also had fantastic therapists at this location, so I highly recommend coming here if you have need of their services. A tip: The dedicated entrance to the Spooner facility is on the south side of the office building, so you'll want to park in the parking lot between the building and the freeway. Spooner has a few marked spaces in front of the sidewalk that leads to their entrance. It may not look at first like an entrance you can use, but it is. While I believe you can also access their suite through the hallway leading from the main entrance for the building, that's usually a long unnecessary walk--and depending on your injury, you might appreciate less walking. :)

After a lot of negative experiences with medical offices, Spooner was a huge breath of fresh air! Literally every person on the team from the front desk to the therapists themselves are friendly and helpful. I worked with PT Julia and tech Chris, and they were both phenomenal - true experts in what they do. I also met with PT Alix a few times, and she's equally amazing. I went in afraid I was going to spend a lot of time and money only to be told I needed surgery. Instead I walked out three months later with a shoulder that is almost entirely healed, and an easy-to-follow program to do at home. I still can't get over what a pleasant experience this was from start to finish. They have truly set the bar for all other providers I see in the future. A few things that set Spooner apart from other medical offices I've been to: 1. They offer a free consultation. If you're not sure physical therapy can help you, go in for a consultation! You'll get an honest answer. 2. They did not pressure me to schedule excessive or unnecessary appointments. I went in thinking I'd need to go 2-3 times a week and was pleasantly surprised that they recommended once a week, and then eventually every two weeks. 3. The billing is transparent and honest. My insurance wouldn't give them a price ahead of time, so Spooner had me pay an estimate based on what other clients with my insurance paid. When my claims were processed and their estimate was slightly higher than my contracted rate, they immediately applied all of the credit from my overpayments. I didn't even have to ask for it - I just walked into my appointment, greeted by the pleasant news that I didn't need to pay that day because I had credit on my account! 4. There were never any surprise charges or codes added on to my appointment. When Julia suggested we try dry needling (highly recommend btw), she made it clear there was no additional fee, and that was accurate information. 5. I feel very set up for success doing exercises at home. They have a really helpful app with my personalized program in it that includes videos of how to do the exercises, and they also gave me printed versions as well. (If you want physical therapy to be successful, you MUST do the exercises at home!) I could go on and on about how great Julia and the Spooner team are. I really can't recommend this practice highly enough.

The staff is friendly and upbeat and I felt comfortable from the moment I first walked in. The desk crew is very accommodating, even after I've had to cancel and rearrange appointment schedules more than once. I have exercises to do at home and the assistants monitoring my program are helpful and encouraging while trained to insist on "just two more". Julie has provided me with great suggestions, information and treatment suggestions. They are the best!

At the same time, I had already been dealing with ongoing knee pain from arthritis for months. Before starting physical therapy, even everyday things like walking, standing for extended periods, and going up and down stairs were uncomfortable. I also had to stop doing several movements at CrossFit that I love, including jump rope, push press, lunges, and weighted squats. After several months of working with Dr. Martin, my body feels better than it has in years. Not only am I back to doing the movements I enjoy at CrossFit, but I'm doing them stronger and pain-free. This past weekend during the CrossFit Open, I completed 240 feet of walking lunges -- and they were the strongest lunges I've ever done. What truly sets Dr. Martin apart is the level of care and attention he gives to each session. At the beginning of every visit, he takes the time to check in and understand exactly how my body is feeling that day. Each appointment is thoughtful, intentional, and tailored to what I need in that moment -- I never feel like "just another patient." He is incredibly detail-oriented when guiding exercises and does an excellent job explaining how to modify movements so I can continue training safely while building strength and preventing future injury. Whether you're recovering from an injury or you're an athlete looking to move and perform better, I highly recommend Dr. Martin Bui and Rise Physical Therapy & Performance. My experience has been exceptional, and I'm incredibly grateful for the progress I've made under his care.
