My car's battery died. I pre-paid $140 to InstantCarFix (ICF) for a jump and a diagnosis. I quickly realized I'd booked the wrong appointment time, so I reached out via email to receive a 100% refund, per their policy.
24 hours passed. No response or refund. I contact ICF again via email. 24 more hours pass, still no response. I call the contact number, which is kept well-hidden on their website, and speak with someone about a refund. They claim they'll "pass it on to management."
Another day passes. Still no communication from ICF whatsoever. I call again and I'm told to send another email. I explain I'd done that already. They tell me they'll pass my message on to management, and I explain I'd heard that already too.
I explain that I'd be contacting the BBB and other boards related to good business conduct if my refund weren't processed. My refund was processed in under 30 minutes.
This company wants to keep your money, even if you don't want their services. You'll have to fight with them if you want a refund. I didn't end up receiving an actual service from ICF, but if their shady business tactics and customer service praxis are at all telling of their service quality, I'd imagine I'd have a whole other review to write about how lousy it was.
You cannot trust this company with your money. Plain and simple. read more
