There I was, broken down on Rt.50, cars blaring their horns at me, so scared people would have accidents... I called AAA first, and then 911 to ask for assistance with traffic. AAA sent Black Horse Transportation - Eddie was like my knight in shining armor, but instead of riding a white horse, well... who cares what color it was! He saved me and whisked me back home (I tipped him well) before taking my car to a repair shop. Now Mr. Eddie told me to go to HIS repair place Advance Automotive, but I was unfamiliar with them, so I asked that he drop it to the place that used to treat me right. Notice "used to"... After looking at my car, this place told me I'm looking at $6-8K to fix it!!! I was trying to get my 2006 to 20 years old but not for that price. I called Eddie back to see about a tow home so I could pay my final respects - and Eddie said to please call Advanced Automotive - just ask what it'd cost to replace the timing belt since that's what first place said I needed (but they also said new water pump, and new engine, plus other untold items until new engine was in place!) I called and they were willing to tow from 1st repair place to themselves (less than 6 miles) - so I said YES! Chris, the service manager called me back SAME DAY and told me what was up. Engine was fine, just needed a new timing belt and they'd let me know on the water pump. Wow! Glory day! I got to keep Old Blue after all! This is a normal item on your 120,000 mileage service recommendation so was no surprise. Everything else on my 2006 PT Cruiser was working just fine. They got the job done so fast!!! Found out my neighbor has been using them for years and swears by them - which was the extra confirmation that I needed. Thank you Eddie! You saved Old Blue! And Thank you Chris, Donny and my mechanic (sorry I didn't get your name) for your part in fixing my car that I wasn't ready to say goodbye to! *** After my visit today and last visit I have to add to my post! Everyone I have met and spoken to here have been incredible! Chris who usually answers the phone is so very knowledgeable and calm in demeanor, so when I call all stressed out about a problem with my car, Chris always calms me down with his words - and they're never false nor inflated - he gives it to you straight but in such a positive way that you immediately feel hopeful - he's magical. The owner Donny is usually on site and oversees everything, so I feel like he's the one who insures all is done right. The mechanics I've met have all been real and respectful. It's such a well run business and I'm so glad my neighbors recommended me to them. I've had two big jobs done by them - the first one I was told by a different car repair place that it was time to get rid of my car, that it was non-repairable. Advanced Automotive was willing to tow it to them (was about 9 miles away) and within a day gave me the great news of just how very fixable it was and their cost was so very fair! The next big job was a new front brake job. Much less than the dealer who had discovered it during one of my free oil changes, and lightning fast are they! Today blew my mind when they diagnosed and took care of a scary to me issue plus gave me a clean emissions test I needed for my registration renewal. Being a disabled veteran and driving a conversion minivan, finding a business that is competent and trustworthy is difficult to find. Advanced Automotive Inc., in Chantilly, Virginia, understood my special needs and accommodated me in all aspects. They were factual and didn't attempt to suggest additional work that was not needed. Work was completed as stated and under the time allotted. Employees were respectful and professional. A place were women can go and not feel that they were being exploited. Great business! Definitely a fan of this shop. I had a horrible experience with another auto repair shop and when i called to use Advance's towing company, i was advised that they are also a repair shop. I spoke with andrea and basically vented about how i was being overcharged for a distributor, rotor, and distributor cap. I told her i was being charged anywhere from $600-1600 for the repair. She confirmed my thoughts...that that quote was INSANE! She then asked if she could provide me a quote. I said sure. She called back and gave me a very realistic quote of $830 bucks for the parts (which included the spark plugs and wires) and the labor. She gave me the real cost of the distributor...which, pretty much matched up to what i saw on autozone (if i were to purchase the distributor myself). She was very honest with me and it made me want to give her my business. I truly feel that 9 out of 10 mechanics try to overcharge and take advantage of every possible situation...but Advanced would definitely be the 1 mechanic shop that is truly honest about their business and i would highly recommend them to anyone in the area. read more

Staff and service are great! My service advisor was Josh and he took the time to explain the issue with my car and ensure I understood what steps they were going to take to fix it. I have had a few bad experiences with poor quality of work, overcharging and inexperienced mechanics at other "Mom/Pop" mechanics/auto shops and Advanced Automotive's service and work far exceeded my expectations.
