Went in for basic inspection and he took 40 min just to come back and upsale for windshield wipers or he threatened to fail my inspection and had the nerve to try and confuse me and said my brake pads needed changing at his business because he the only one that has the $1500 dollar machine to hold something but $25 turned into $90 just for an inspection that literally took 3 min while they laughed at me. My brakes are now coincidentally screeching now. Poor service. read more

Got an alignment because of new tire purchase. They tried to tell me I had bad shocks so they were unable to align my car properly. My car was not pulling when i took it in, but was completely pulling to the right afterwards and the steering wheel was also off center to the right after they "aligned" it. It was not beforehand! Took it to the dealership today. Dealership confirmed there is absolutely nothing wrong with my shocks and they aligned it correctly! Do NOT take your vehicle to this place!!!!!!!!! So this place is under new management and it has completely changed! I stopped in to get my oil changed and inspection done and was so happy to see all the changes. There is a waiting room with a clean sitting area, a few novelties to purchase, and magazines while you wait. Customer service was great. A couple things I'd add... add a few magazines that appeal to women. Also make sure there's paper towels and soap in the bathroom. Glad to see this place is what it is now! I needed an alignment so I got a groupon deal for inspection express on cedar ridge. I am a female mechanic and I had done some suspension work on my old truck and don't have the tools for alignment. I made an appointment and came in. They did the work while I waited and the mechanic brought my keys, said he drove it and it was good but if I had any problems to come back. I paid the tax and extra fee for pickups and left. As soon as I pulled out I noticed a squeak which got worse as I drove to my next appointment. The squeak turned into a grind and came and went so as soon as I could I brought it back (a few hours later). I told them what was going on and said I was going to walk next door to get a drink and I'd be back. When I got back he had the tire off and said he turned it but heard no squeak. So I walked up and turned it. It was hot and very hard to turn. So I said, "why is it so hard to turn?" He put his hand on it and remarked that it was hot. He then tried to tell me the brake pads were bad. They were not (see pic). A well dressed manager then walked up and took a look and also tried to tell me the pads were bad. I said they were fine. So well dressed manager guy asked mechanic guy if he had driven it. He said no. (He told me he had earlier) Mechanic guy asked me to drive it so he could listen for the sound. We rode, he heard, when we got back I took a seat on a bench outside the shop and watched mechanic guy take off the tire on the other side to see that it was working fine. Then I watched as mechanic guy, well dressed manager guy and customer service lady huddled up for a conversation. Then customer service lady comes over and tells me that my brake pads are "really bad" on that side and that I need new tie rod ends and that they see I had some work done because there are new parts under there but whatever the problem is it isn't their fault because they just turn two bolts for the alignment. So I left, went home, took off the wheel, took off the two bolts on the caliper to inspect the brakes and found a clip had come off and was jammed in such a way as to make the brake stick and it was grinding against the rotor. Was the clip their fault? Probably not. We're they willing to turn two bolts to look at my brake and ensure that I was safe? No. They would rather lie about my brake pads and let me drive off in a dangerous condition. Now I'm wondering what kind of job they did on the alignment. Disgusting! read more

These guys don't know left from right, stay away. I came for a full-service oil change and inspection in April, 2019. When the service was complete, as I was driving out of the lot, the power steering was still squealing on full turn like it did when I arrived. I pulled the car back to the shop, and discovered they didn't top off me power steering fluid. The Inspection Express mechanic filled it with transmission fluid; he said they don't carry power steering fluid, and that his boss told him ATF is good enough for power steering. A couple months later I noticed the transmission was overfilled. I took my car back to Inspection Express for a full service oil change in July, 2019. (Calling around, other shops refused to touch the overfilled transmission and referred me back to the shop that overfilled it.) They did the oil change, but the Inspection Express employees refused to adjust my transmission fluid to the proper level. I left, and after I arrived home, I exited the car to find a puddle of coolant leaking out the car. There was still coolant in the reservoir, so I assumed they overfilled it. After driving ~10 miles to work the next day, my car started smoking when I parked. I went back to Inspection Express after work, and I accused the manager that they overfilled my coolant, and somehow caused it to blow a seal. They said they didn't overfill it, but they did top it off. I asked if they used the manufacturer recommended, Dexcool (yellow coolant). The manager said they didn't carry that type--they did carry the newer red Dexcool, yet they filled it with conventional green coolant. I asked the manager if he was aware that you're not supposed to mix coolants like that, that they solidify and clog your cooling system, and he walked away yelling. A service tech looked under and determined the water pump failed. A different manager threw out numerous excuses as to how it might not be their fault before finally setting me up with a new water pump and coolant flush. Despite that fact that they did fix it, the car overheated, and is now in much worse shape than before the Inspection Express service. A perfectly working car doesn't break down on the way home from an oil change unless the shop messes up, clear and simple. These people are very difficult to work with, and very incompetent, buyer beware. read more

Getting car problems fixed can honestly be a hassle. However Inspection Express makes the process so easy. I went to a Chevrolet before going to Inspection Express to get an oil change. I unfortunately had the unpleasant experience of being told an animal was living in my car (I had been in a car accident and my car had been in the shop for two months where it probably snuck in through the hood). My blower motor and both filters were super dirty. I was also told I needed to get my brakes replaced. Getting everything done was going to cost me about $1500, something that was just simply not in my budget. I had gone to Inspection Express prior and I remembered I had a friend that loved it and recalled I had a great first experience as well (just never got around to doing a review). They made the process super easy and explained everything clearly and quickly. They also cut the price in half. Their labor was impressive, they left the inside of my hood shining and truly did an excellent job. I was amazed at how quickly they got the job done. I would go back here for any car issue and I recommend that you do too. Extremely satisfied and relieved! Moumin is the best! read more

I visited this establishment for an alignment. I am a used car dealer and I've gotten several alignments in the past. I tried this business because of an $36 Groupon for an alignment. (In which he wanted me to pay him cash instead of using Groupon because they get 50%. At least that is what he told me.)I have also been told that I needed to correct issues prior to the alignment as well. I pulled up and asked the gentlemen outside if they could do an alignment and he said yes. (This was the length of our discussion.)Upon a quick look of the car the guy in the office told me that they couldn't do the alignment because of some front end issues. He said I would need to replace the inner tie rod and the struts. I said okay and was ready to leave. He began looking up parts and prices in which I didn't ask nor did I want him to do. I told him I would just replace the parts and come back for an alignment. He proceeded in trying to charge me $49 for a diagnostic fee in which I was not told about at all. If he would have explained that to me in the beginning I would have simply left. We argued back and forth and he was not happy without me giving him any money. After all of this he said he would do the alignment anyway. He had already returned my key and I told him I was leaving. He took a picture of my dealer tag prior to me leaving. Be careful with this establishment. I would not recommend. Please review other reviews concerning Inspection Express. It's very consistent with my experience. I just read his response. These people are so dishonest. There was no notification posted about charging you for a diagnosis anywhere. In addition, he didn't offer an estimate... He just started doing one like I said in the earlier post!!! Theft of service? Are you kidding me??? So, I guess the notice was posted outside about 20 feet from the shop where the older gentlemen took my key. No sir! read more

I have been here a couple times. Gotten two used tires here so far. Place seems ok. Maybe different owners now, has been a different crew each time I have been here. Cost me $27 for a used tire. Which seems a bit high to me since I'm used to going to places in Oak Cliff. Different times have been so far apart, I totally forget what I paid each time. Only thing I don't like about this place is they don't show you the tire before they mount it for you. So hopefully your getting a descent used tire and not like a patched one or something. They are friendly and speedy, so no complaints there. read more
