Insomnia Cookies is now open! Find it next to Jamba Juice by Amtrak Gates F and G. Service is quick, friendly, and efficient. I've gone a few times at different points in the day, and the cookies are always fresh and warm. My go-to is the peanut butter chip which is soft on the inside but also crisp on the outside. It is peanut butter cookie perfection! They also have vegan and gluten-free options. For the size of the cookies, they are pricey at ~$3 a piece, but you are getting it fresher and warmer than the pre-packaged, off-the-shelf cookies that you would find at other cafes/bakeries. Pro tip: Join their rewards club (free to join) to accumulate points and get access to deals and other discounts. You can also order ahead online. They have other treats besides just cookies. You can level up and get an ice cream cookie sandwich, get brownies, or even order a giant cookie cake. Drinks are also available for purchase - milk, soda, and coffee. It's a quick grab-and-go spot that's perfect for a pick-me-up at Union Station.

First time trying these decadent cookies ! Love At First Bite ... I indulged in a deluxe cookie, the chocolate peanut butter cup. Loaded with chunks of Reese's peanut butter cups baked into a rich peanut butter cookie, I was in heaven since I pride myself on being a Reese's fanatic. This location had very friendly employees, and was extremely clean. Great addition to Union station .

Shop just opened last week. I never heard of Insomnia cookies. I was not sure what made them different but I do see they are open until 3 am. I am glad I do not live nearby because I would be in trouble. If you know you know. I have no business in this place but I decided to try them out on my morning walk(kinda defeats the purpose of the walk). The store is very clean and bright and the scent of fresh cookies draws you right in. The young Lady and Gentleman that were working there were pleasant, kind and helpful. I wished I had asked their names. I decided on a chocolate brownie(minus the ice cream but I wanted to!). After I got my brownie, I walked myself back to work and had it with a cup of hot coffee(Of course). OMG! The brownie was still warm, soft and so delicious! That brownie had my carboholic tendencies saying YYEESSS!!!!Just what I needed to start my Friday off. To be honest the brownie was amazing, but I cannot return here too often as I am are trying to get this figure together for Costa Rica in December. But Ba-be. . . I would come here everyday if I had the metabolism for it. Get you some. . .

The store was empty when we stopped in for a quick sweet treat. We were greeted and helped immediately. Our order was accurately filled and we were quickly on our way. I was a little disappointed that the cookies didn't quite live up to our expectations. They fell apart easily and were extremely mushy in the center. I love a soft cookie, but this was practically raw in some parts. These cookies are also extremely sweet. I'm sure to some these might be perfect, but it just didn't quite hit the spot for either of us.

Very helpful staff, cute ice parlor vibes and decor..what's not to like! First, I can only indulge in dairy free products so while the selections here were few, the choice that I made was surprisingly shocking-all cashew milk are not enjoyable lol. I ordered the raspberry cheesecake ice cream and honey, after one bite, I thought that I was eating dairy because it was THAT creamy and good! Filled with flavor and delicious to the last drop, I thoroughly enjoyed it on a sugar cone. But here is where I laugh to myself because I sat outside, enjoyed a delicious ice cream and decided to then try a patty lol yes! I ordered one of the curry chicken patty and as a native Island gal, this place knows how to blend their flavors. Those patties were buttery soft and filled with flavor inside-ENJOYED IT! Would I return? YES! I do hope that they expand their vegan flavors but yes yes yes! It's hot in the District, stop by local and enjoy a well deserved treat.

Despite the shop being small they have a large variety of options for you. This includes ice cream, brownies, cookies, pound cakes, ice cream and my all time favorite banana pudding. I've had a lot of banana pudding in my lifetime so for this to be my favorite says something (don't tell my grandma I told you that lol). I even love that they offer single serving banana pudding in the perfect size container so that you can enjoy without over indulging. Check out Here's the Scoop, it's right next to the historical Howard University. You will not be disappointed and may just end up spending $20+ every single time you go because it's that good. They have a great list of unique rotating flavors, and it's always fun to come back to try out their new seasonal releases. A few of my favorites over the years have been their hibiscus sorbet -- a delightful dairy-free addition to their Hispanic Heritage Month flavors that is the perfect balance of tangy and sweet -- the cinnamon cardamom -- a super spiced ice cream that, despite being freezing cold, feels like you're about to drink a warm beverage -- and blueberry sour cream crumble. When I'm feeling less adventurous, they also have a really solid strawberry ice cream that uses real berries (none of that artificial nonsense you see in grocery stores) with a delightful fruity, slightly tangy flavor. There's usually a pretty long line, but it moves quite quickly since they don't allow samples. It's also a small space that gets crowded pretty easily, so I'd recommend taking your ice cream to go and enjoying it as you walk around Mt Pleasant or on the benches just below the entrance to Mount Desert.

Every scoop feels generous, almost like getting a scoop and a half, which makes each visit feel like a small treat and a bonus all at once. One of my favorite things about this shop is their doggy ice cream. My dog absolutely loves it, to the point where he screams if we walk by without stopping. It has become part of our routine, and watching him light up when he gets his own cup makes the stop even better. They also serve an ice cream taco in the winter, and I cannot wait for it to come back. It is fun, a little quirky, and exactly the kind of seasonal special that keeps things interesting. The walk up window is another huge plus. It makes grabbing ice cream with my dog easy and enjoyable, especially on nice days when you just want something quick and tasty. Mount Desert Island Ice Cream delivers great flavors, generous scoops, and thoughtful touches that make it stand out. It is a place I look forward to every time.

When I stopped by, it was raining heavy, but the walk from the metro was totally worth it. I stepped inside, heard some great R&B jams playing, and I made my way to work that amazing smell was coming from. Along the way, I passed some cute merch -- insulated bags and more. And then there was a freezer with all of their pints, ice cream sandwiches, and ice cream cakes. I got up to where the scoops are being served, and there was a very helpful sign next to it with all of the descriptions. I appreciate it the thorough breakdown of what has allergens, what has dairy, and what is vegan. I pretty much tried everything. My favorites were the vegan ones (spiced peanut crunch, tamarind spice), the spiced date cake, saffron pistachio, mangos & cream, black forest... I could keep going. I split a generous scoop of the spiced date cake & saffron pistachio and it was divine. I could've gotten some cool toppings too, but decided not to. It was $8 as is XD. It's definitely a splurge, but a unique flavor profile like this I think it's totally worth it. The pints are $12, which also isn't bad for something this unique imo. I'll be back to get some pints. It's awesome that it's in Brooklyn too, so my sister can explore it as well.

I was so excited, in fact, that I waited in line on opening day. While the flavors were indeed exciting, I found the flavor to be muted. I was picturing intense Indian spice that hits you in the face, only to be confronted with very mild flavor. I've been a few times since opening, and I think it's fine, but it doesn't live up to expectations. I've found the soft serve to be better than the hard ice cream, but it almost has too creamy of a texture. The yogurt soft serve flavor with cardamom was the best thing I've tasted there. The ambiance is fine, there is a small patio for warm days. The last time I was there the inside smelled like sewage, eeek!
