They're open late which is great there's not a lot of late night places to get something sweet in Rochester so kudos there too. However having completely inept employees who can barely run your computer as well as selling ridiculously overpriced confections WITHOUT HAVING MILK AVAILABLE is where you completely lose me. We stopped in here late tonight to grab something sweet and the entire experience can be described as a clusterfudge. None of the employees were communicating in any sensible way with one another no one knew what anyone else was doing No one knew who was working on which orders. He had people standing in line for 20 minutes while take out orders were just hand it off to GrubHub drivers who didn't wait at all. The setup of the building makes no sense and causes traffic jams at the entrance. And how the hell are you going to try to charge me $6 for two cookies and not have any freaking milk and when you do have it you charge people $4 for 12 oz of milk. read more

I just bought a $5.35 cookie. I didn't realize you had to pay extra to get a fully baked one. Mine had a significantly amount of severely undercooked cookie dough. It was only slightly crisp around the edges. It was warm, but I would have gladly traded 'warm' for 'actually cooked thoroughly'. Made a trip here with my BFF after dinner. There was a mix-up at the restaurant and short story - we didn't get our dessert. So we were on the quest to fulfill our sweet tooth... sweet teeth? Anyhow, after looking on Yelp for places open at 11pm we found Insomnia Cookies. My BFF had been before and said the cookies were really good and I trust her judgment. So off we went. We parked right out front. Its a cute, small little shop and smells like cookie heaven. They have a clear menu, and cookies on display in a case so you can get a clear picture of what kinds they have. I got a 6 pack of cookies ($8.80) and a small cup of ice cream ($3.90). It seems a bit pricey BUT to be fair the cookies are very filling and it was a generous "small" serving of ice cream. So in my opinion, totally worth it! I got 3 chocolate chunk and 3 double chocolate chunk. Both were amazing and warm! They keep the cookies in a warmer which is awesome because I prefer cookies that way. I live outside of the Insomnia Cookies delivery area but wanted to try them because I've seen their stores when I travel down to NYC and was curious what they were like. I made my way down to the Upper Mount Hope location for dessert after meeting friends for dinner at another restaurant nearby. There's nothing especially wonderful about these cookies, but they're certainly not bad. They're warmed up so the chocolate is nice and gooey (that is, if you get a cookie with chocolate in it, of course) and the taste is good. They're pretty standard as far as cookies go. I tried the M&Ms and Deluxe S'mores and both were good; the M&Ms was packed with M&Ms and the Deluxe S'mores was nice and gooey. It's a tiny little store but I guess all the magic is in the back. The cookies are actually kept in a warmer behind the counter. They only keep 1 of each of the cookies in a display so you can see what's available. They have regular and deluxe cookies, which are bigger and have more stuff mixed in. I wish I could have tried this as an ice cream sandwich but didn't have the time so I took one of their 6 packs. I liked that I could pick and choose. I tried the chocolate chunk, m&m, sugar and key lime pie - I got 2 of the sugar and key lime. After a 30min drive home they still tasted like they just came out of the oven!
