I stopped by PLN for the first time yesterday and am really impressed by this biz! I had heard their shakes were yummy, so that was my mine objective in visiting. Get my smoothie, check out the grab and go cooler, and learn more about what this great spot has to offer. The bulk of their biz is meal prep and nutrition planning - and they seem to have a strong clientele of Rochesterians. They are conveniently located in the Lac De Ville plaza and I was in and out within five minutes. Everyone was SO kind and helpful, and my shake was really delicious. I am a protein powder SKEPTIC. I think it makes everything taste like diet chalk. I am pleased to report my banana shake did NOT taste like chalk, and I downed the whole thing throughout the course of an afternoon. I am grateful for anything that includes calorie counts these days. As I am aiming to be a bit more mindful about how much I am consuming in a given day (and of what!) this is really helpful. Given that we're home so much, I haven't had an issue making time for meal planning and grocery shopping. When we get back to "normal" and time is taken up by events and other happenings, I would ABSOLUTELY consider doing a meal program through PLN. Signed up recently for meal plans and Patrick, along with the other staff, were super friendly and welcoming. They have a great variety of meals to choose from and aren't super pushy with their sales pitch, just genuinely want to help you if you're interested. I've tried PLN a few times and have mixed thoughts. I love the concept of having prepared, healthy meals to go and at a reasonable price. I think for $10 a meal, you get decent tasting food, filling portions. Not bad value. I think flavor wise, most of the dishes I've tried have been OK / good. Few have been very good and none have been amazing. My wife and I have tried PLN because we want to eat healthy but between very demanding jobs and being new parents, we rarely have time or energy to cook. I think besides taste, other areas where I feel PLN falls a little flat: 1) Quite a few of the meals don't seem healthy (eg, quite a few have fried chicken) 2) As someone who is a picky eater and doesn't enjoy most vegetables, I wish they would zizz up the vegetables in their dishes. Most have no seasoning / no taste. All the flavor is with the protein. read more

Over the years I've tried a number of meal prep services, none of which stuck because the meals were bland and the quantity/quality of food just didn't seem right. I tried Project LeanNation about a year and a half ago, and was super impressed! I still order my regular meals bi-weekly from PLN to this day! The meals come in different sizes which help me meet my personal health and nutrition goals, and the PLN team is fantastic about sitting down with customers to better understand their goals and what the best options for them are. The staff is super friendly and approachable, I've never felt that PLN was a "meathead" type place - you truly see people at all different levels of their health and wellness journey. I always get the same smoothie while my dad gets something new every week. He always lets me try a sip of his and so far there isn't one recipe that I thought was gross or the texture was off. The smoothies start off at $8 so it's pretty normal pricing in rochester! They have a rewards program so you can get a free smoothie after spending a certain amount with them. It's convenient but it's expensive and I have expectations that the food be good. I don't expect gourmet by any means. I started the lifestyle meal delivery plan this week - I am on day 2 so I will update this review if it suddenly changes. I am on the plan to try and lose weight and better understand portions/clean eating. The delivery is great - the price is ok - the food is horrible. Clean eating can't be this bad, right?! I get a 6 oz shake in the morning, a frozen meal at 10:30, 2:30, and 7:30... and a pack of almonds or protein bar at 5 to hold me over to dinner. The meals are labeled as a fish, chicken, beef or turkey - and they say they have seasonings (lemon/basil on some of the fish, chipotle on the turkey, sometimes a szechuan beef). Portions are very small. It tastes like boiled meat with steamed veggies with zero salt or seasonings. It's frozen when it's delivered so when you heat it up in the microwave, the food ends up steaming in the excess water. Today for my 2:30 I had the turkey meatballs with petite blue potatoes and frozen spinach. The excess water from the freezing, spinach and potato made the entire dish soggy. I had to choke it down with red hot. My coworkers looked at it in horror. They send you a card to use flavor additions like red hot or mustard or spices. You end up soaking it in these options and just feeing like you are eating condiments. I am eating to eat here. Eating to stop the stomach from growling. Nothing is enjoyable. It's day 2, I realize - but I am not full. I am hoping my body gets used to it but right now the urge to cheat is HIGH. I normally do low carb/no carb and I am never hungry. This is legit hunger. 1300 calories/day for the women's plan. Drinking water is what they tell you do to to stay full... 48 ounces of water today and still starving. I will keep at it. I am pushing through to give it a fair shake (no pun intended) but this is not food. It's not enjoyable. It's shoving it in your mouth just so your stomach stops growling. read more

One week in and I'm obsessed with this place! Let's start with the service- they go above and beyond anything I would ever expect. From the minute you call, to the first time you're in the store, to your first week in, these guys know what it means to put customers first! All my questions were answered in detail, they gave me a run down when I picked up my first box, ANNNNDDD they called with a follow up a few days in. Honestly I can't think of a single thing to improve in service! The meals are great for lean meals that limit sodium and fat. I wouldn't reach for one on my cheat day, but on a day to day healthy lifestyle plan, these meals are perfect! Not only do they set you up for success, but I found them quite filling and I didn't find my self reaching for extra fatty snacks in between meals. This place sets you up for success: from meals that are reasonably priced and well portioned, to a community and environment focused on excellence customer service, I can't see one area for improvement! read more

Always delicious shakes!!! Filling and healthy. Some people drink them for lunch, but personally it's more filling as a breakfast. I recommend trying new flavors, I tried the carrot cake and the gladiator and both are amazing. The PB and jacked is always great and the Greens with Envy is one of my favorites. I'm usually skeptical of green shakes but I promise it tastes like apple and is amazing. I want to try them all! read more

So .. first .. why did I join PLN? I had heard about PLN and have seen mention of it over the last couple of years through various social media avenues ... I stumbled across a picture of someone holding a sign that read; "I lost XX lbs." (Cannot remember the exact number) ... This while I am inhaling a pizza that I had ordered on my way home from work. It then hit me, I had chicken wings last night, and some other quick fix dinner the day before and oh ... that's right ... I had a sub for lunch. I had already been feeling "bad" about my weight gain and now it was all coming together ... a sedentary office position, poor planning, little direction = a recipe for disaster or in my case, weight gain. All of this ran through my mind as I stared at the person in the picture holding his sign of success. I dutifully accessed the PLN website, garnered some helpful information and made a decision to try the meal plan. Because I was looking for weight loss and unsure of how much I would need, I selected the "Lifestyle Plan" with 12 meals, all of which are prepared fresh right in Rochester. When I calculated the money spent going out to lunch and ordering take out (fees & tip) ... the spend would save me money and time as it relates to deciding, waiting etc. ... It was settled, I would join this program. On my way home from work the next evening, I stopped in to pick up some of the meals that they have on hand to get me through the rest of the week and signed up for the plan. I am three weeks in and am more than happy with this program. I no longer have to guess, I no longer feel bad for making bad decisions on the fly and I like the convenience of having healthy portioned controlled meals at my beckoned call. The 12 meals suits me fine ... the remarkable thing is that I have started to make better decisions about snacking and overall health choices. Lastly, the staff ... I have been greeted with an open, friendly smile each time I have walked through those doors. A sense of community and comradery warms over you when you walk in ... a feeling of acceptance, which frankly is the ribbon on this wonderful package. If you are struggling with trying to "do something" ... I found this to be it .. Perhaps one day soon, I will begin exercising again, but for now taking this first baby step will lead me down a path of success and I too may one day hold a sign. read more

I have been having food delivered to me from Project Lean Nation for the past 4 weeks now and I am seriously obsessed! After gaining quite a bit of weight and not being able to keep up on weekly meal preps to help keep healthy food prepared for my meals, i decided to give PLN a call and place an order. Depending on your needs, the package of food you receive is different. Every Sunday my food is delivered right to my door step, pre packaged and ready for me to take on the week. This is not a food system that sends you tv dinners packed with preservatives, sodium and cholesterol, its all real food, that is DELICIOUS..they also have a Paleo plan and an organic plan if you want to go that route. The staff is super friendly and, Jessica, the coordinator for Rochester is extremely knowledgeable about all the meal packages and will be able to answer all your questions. If you are looking for a great company to help you achieve your weight loss goals, or even just goals of eating healthy, then this is the place you want to call. I'm a big fan of Project Lean Nation. After a not-so successful foray with Effortlessly Healthy, I was looking for an alternative in the Rochester-area: enter Project Lean Nation. Although they do have weekly meal packages, I prefer the flexibility of grabbing their freezer meals. Every time I go in to grab a stack of meals, they have a different variety available - I've probably tried 25 completely or so completely different meals - most of which were delicious. Hey, they can't all be winners. I also tried one of their shakes for the first time and it was so SO good. Although I think the shakes are a little on the pricier side, it's a nice little post-workout splurge every once in a while. read more

I love Project Leannation, Good unprocessed food dinner meals are sold in proportion to what one should eat. We all know if you take in too many calories and use less you gain weight. We know this. I found Project Leannation by accident and I was happy I did. I was given a free juice drink and they told me about the cool shop for the slim to be. The owner's were very nice and I now buy 6 dinners all I have to do is heat them or microwave and warm them up and it's right everything. Oh yes the nutrtionist will say a piece of meat or fish as large as your palm and bingo it's there. It's good food and I feel full and like I ate the right amount. They also have vegan and other frozen dinners but for my dinner's weight loss I get 6 for $40. You can take care of a low calorie breakfast and lunch but you will know your dinner is proportioned out. You can also have a juice drink for lunch. This place is awesome and the owner's have them in other states like California and etc. Get your own knowledge and work out at least 4 times a week and the pounds will drop. It's that simple. I highly reccommend Project Leannation and remember the food is unprocessed and cooked by a chef. Work out and drink water or a Leannation juice. A great place a wonderful place. The simple thing is people get so psychologically bummed when they fail; so think more in and less out you gain. Less in and more work out weight loss. You can do it on your own or if you need support get a friend to go with you. I give myself support because it's my health and I'm responsible for my body no matter how self concious I feel working out with a trainer but in a few months you have lost and you feel great. If you want to eat healthy and control your portion size this would be your place. These are pre cooked or prepared meals. Wide variety of options from steak to fish and everything in between. There is usually vegetables mixed in and I believe the meals are 400 to 700 calories. Macros are a little different for the athlete meals which have more carbs. I don't do the meal plan but eat there a lot. They have microwaves in the store you can use. Most of the meals are great but a few are little bland. You have to keep in mind you are eating healthy food not loaded with salt, cheese and butter. They make shakes to order that are delicious. I haven't them all yet but pb& jacked is my favorite. The best part of the place is the staff. I am yet to have a bad experience with any of them. You can tell they are all dedicated to fitness and eating right. It's a little pricey but it's never cheap to eat well. $6-11 for a meal in the store. read more

My friend has to get her shakes with water rather than almondmilk for the shakes that are normally made with AM. The meals are reasonably priced for the portion size. Nice options with meals (keto, gluten/dairy free, etc) and love that we have grab and go meals. Indoor seating to enjoy your meal and/or shake. So my husband and I joined project lean nation about a month or so ago and it has honestly made our life much easier. I love having my meals delivered to my door step and already precooked. I have read some of the other reviews and yes some of the meals can be a little watery but I haven't let that effect me, I simply drained it and the food was great. Some of the beef options I have had to add some pepper but overall the meals have been really good. It's healthy food people so your not going to get this super rich food here. What I love about the food is that it is real and whole ingredients. I make my breakfast which is usually eggs and 1 piece of toast or a protein shake, followed by veggies or almonds for a snack, 1 PLNmeal for lunch, again another snack and dinner is 1 PLNmeal. So far we have lost weight without really trying. It's allowed us more time with our kids and going to the gym or doing stuff around the house. I think this is Great option for any family where each person is working and has kids. Plus my kitchen has never been so clean! read more
