Great time at insomnia. I came in on 7/9 and got a $1 sugar cookie, and also a salted caramel delux - soooo good. I stopped into Insomnia Cookies in Charleston about 10 minutes before closing and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing from both a customer service and product standpoint. I completely understand that working late and closing shifts can be exhausting, but if the store is still open, customers should still be treated with basic professionalism and courtesy. The young lady working the counter acted as if serving me was an inconvenience from the moment I walked in. The interaction felt cold, dismissive, and very much like she simply did not want to be there or help customers at that point in the night. To make matters worse, the cookies I received were not warm at all, which is literally one of the main reasons people go to Insomnia Cookies in the first place. Getting room temperature cookies after receiving lackluster service just made the entire visit feel pointless. Late night or not, consistency matters. If the doors are open until 1:00 AM, customers should still receive the experience the brand advertises and that they are paying for. read more

Kinda pricey when you get the deluxe cookies but these ones were worth it! Perfectly gooey and warm when I got them! The lava cake cookie is a limited time option but I hope it stays forever. The s'mores and PB deluxe are always a hit. Threw in a couple red velvets for *balance* with all of the other chocolate and I'm glad I did because they were 10/10. read more

Stumbled upon this place downtown and hubby was super happy they had a GF option. Guy at the counter was friendly and helpful. They had a couple ice creams that were also GF. They had chocolate chip as the GF option so we went with that. Warm, soft, chewy and delicious! Glad to find another dessert place that has GF options! A bit pricey for just one cookie. There are a lot of places to get dessert in the city... This should not be one of them. I came here to grab a couple of cookies after a nice dinner for my birthday, because I've seen insomnia many times, but never actually tried them. I could've done without them, and would've rather had crumble or gone and gotten cake from one of the many places downtown to do so. One of the cookies that my friend ordered was good and one of them was bad and when it comes to dessert, I'm not willing to gamble. I will say, the gentleman working the counter was incredibly efficient, especially given that he was working on his own. The lobby is small. This is not a place you're going to hang out in. Sometimes when the line gets out the door, people don't know how to act right on the sidewalk. read more

Terrific! We spotted this place on the way to get ice cream, and came back after. We each ordered a different cookie, and we got them pretty quick! Place was very calm and looked pleasing. My son Jeck was laughing so hard at the "Milks/NonMilks" he peed his pants! Just jokes! He didn't pee. He never does. 10/10 would come back again! read more

Stopped in to pick up a 4-pack of cookies. It's March, so BOGO 4-pack. Today is March 31, BUT NOOOOOOO. That doesn't apply anymore, we stopped a week ago (March 24). Meanwhile still running the digital ad inside the store. Bait and switch type place. Cookies are Ok but will never visitor another Insomnia location again. Had been to a number of them up and down the east coast but no more. Idiots ruin it for everyone. Plenty of other place to grab cookies/dessert before spending $ with this company. read more

We loved Insomnia Cookies so much that we came back twice on our vacation. The first time we ordered over 20 cookies and the M&Ms were my favorite. The second time we ordered only 12 cookies, as a late night snack, and the Snickerdoodle cookies were amazing! This place stays open very late and also delivers. Our cookies were served warm and the size of each cookie was just perfect! The one reason I had to give it 4 out of 5 stars is because we ordered a ton of cookies the first time and the 2 Blueberry Cobbler cookies were left out of the box. I was really looking forward to trying this unique flavor. We will still be back but will check the box before leaving. I definitely recommend this little cookie shop! The cookies were great - under cooked bur good! I am writing this to say that the worker, Seth, was awful. He was mean, unfriendly and off putting. Will not go back because of him - maybe it was a bad night? We asked to use the bathroom and he said "no it closed 5 minutes ago". That didn't even make sense and felt like he just didn't let us because he was having a night and didn't want to be working. If I could give zero stars I would. I ordered an ice cream cookie sandwich and was told that the cookies just went in and would be a 15-20 minute wait. Every time I asked when it would be ready the workers said they just put them in over and over again. I waited over an hour for my cookies and the workers were aggressive and aggravated by everyone waiting, which is reasonable but severely unprofessional. One employee even said she'd call the cops on some of the door dashers. read more

Insomnia Cookies must be popular in Charleston since there are several colleges, many hotels, and a vibrant night-life They are open late and deliver until 3:00a.m. Imagine ending your evening with a warm cookie. The chocolate chunk cookie topped with Carmillionaire ice cream and the chocolate chunk cookie topped with Mint Chip ice cream were delicious. There was only one employee working the counter. The small eating area with 4 stools needed to be cleaned and was cramped while people were waiting. I was surprised they do not accept $50.00 bills considering the price of a dozen deluxe cookies. The customer ahead of us had a difficult time because the worker refused to put her brownie with ice cream in a bowl. It seemed the employee was being unreasonable but I did not take off a point for this because it was not my personal experience. read more

I visit the Charlotte, NC Insomnia Cookies often while in Uptown, and its nice to see that the cookies are the same in other locations. The baking cookie smell is what brings people in each time... who can pass up warm freshly baked cookies?! Though this location was struggling a bit, the staff remained calm and got the cookies out at quickly as possibly! Something that has never been explained to me was the different cookies on the menu. The Guy running the register took the time to explain to me the different packages and which ones he likes. I could have just read the menu, but he took the time to do it for me anyways; Great Customer Service, always appreciated!! We went on a weekend and there were several events going on, it would probably be a little faster on a regular day... so don't count this location out! read more

Had to drop in to Insomnia after having dinner on King Street last night. I have heard good things and who doesn't love a warm soft cookie? We were greeted as soon as we walked in. It is a cute small shop. The staff went over the offerings when we took them it was our first time there. We chose to get a six pack and pick our flavors. I was excited they had Gingerbread as a holiday flavor. Not many people like that flavor...but me...yes please! I love how the cookies are a sensible size and are not overly big and heavy like some of the other cookie places that have been popping up. The M&M was delicious as well. The store was opened and the stools were on the tables. My husband needed to sit so I pulled one of the stools down off the table and let him sit. The little guy behind the counter asked me not to pull the stools down. I told him I am a doctor and my husband needs to sit because he's not feeling well. I dont know who is training everyone that works there but youd figure it would be well. I asked to used the restroom 6 minutes after they said it closed because i had a "womanly" emergency. My husband asked and they said no, okay thats fine I pay for my items and wait, then another woman asks, and they open the door for her! The man then hands me the cookies i JUST PAID FOR and says "sorry, we arent open to the public" ??? What was that comment for? A red head with glasses working night shift at 9pm yesterday It was an absolute joke of an experience and I will definitely not recommend this place to anyone, rushed service, terrible profiling, 1/5 stars for this location. I ordered a six pack of cookies I could only pick 3 flavors but only got 3 of each sugar cookie and macadamia nut because there was no chocolate chip flavor. In my opinion I've had better cookies and I'm a sweet tooth lol. The prices are high for regular cookies. $14 bucks after tax for 6 cookies. The cookies was good nice and warm I will add. read more

Good cookies served warm and late hours. I like that they have vegan and gf options as well. We tried a variety of flavors and everyone seemed to enjoy theirs. There is also ice scream too in case you want that with your cookies or instead of a cookie and tons of packages. Classic cookies are normal size and deluxe cookies are much larger and about double the cost. read more

While this is a chain, sometimes I have found the actual stores are hit or miss. Despite being right in the middle of the downtown area, this location was quick and convenient. We stopped by and tried about 5 different cookies. It was all the typical cookies and they were all delightful. I have to say that insomnia can definitely give tiffs treats a run for their money. To be completely honest. I've been wanting to try these for so long. I've had Crumble cookies several times. In my personal opinion, I feel Crumble tastes much better. These aren't bad. Just not quite what, I had anticipated. However, the customer service was Superb. I was super hungry, so yes I ate 4 out of 6 cookies. They have a lot of flavors. Leaving a Yelp event downtown, I saw this store and jumped for joy! I have visited the location they have in the upstate and was so delighted to see we have one locally. I popped in and bought 2 m&m cookies and a milk. Ohhhh the cookies were just as good as I remembered. Nice and warm, not overly sweet and the right amount of m&ms in them. Perfect! They have lots of other kinds, chocolate chip, plain, stuffed cookies, etc. All warm like they are just out the oven. Also different kinds of milk or hot chocolate to go with your cookies. The cake was good and had everything I could ever want in it, but it was a little dry. I think this also had to do with it being the end of the night. The ice cream complemented the flavor well. It would have been better with a second scoop of ice cream though. Service was great! It took about 10 minutes from when we ordered to get our dessert. I would probably come back here again, but not so late at night so there would be fresher cake with more options available.

I was looking for a place near the event to do a neighborhood tie in and they made me 7 dozen mini cupcakes. I sent an inquiry and we worked out the details over email. I initially was going to get a few dozen regular sized cupcakes, but Christen suggested the mini's for bite sized snacking in a mingling... setting which was perfect. We set a pickup time and I went to grab them just before my event. Christen had them ready and greeted me at the door. She actually does all the baking off site at a commercial kitchen and then offers pickup from her beautiful home downtown. I love this old school way of doing business and it adds a personal touch. Now for the cakes! Everyone was raving about them and asking where they came from... even people who said they don't even like chocolate cake (weirdos if you ask me). I lucked out because my guests had restraint and didn't devour every last mini cupcake so I took home about a dozen of them and enjoyed all of them with zero judgement from the party goers. Came across this spot downtown, and my sister was super pumped they had a gluten-free option. The guy at the counter was really friendly and helpful. They had a few gluten-free ice creams too! We went with the chocolate chip cookie, and it was warm, soft, chewy, and so good! Stoked to find another dessert place that caters to gluten-free folks! The M&M cookie was soft, crunchy, and slightly crispy. I loved that it wasn't all the way cooked in the center bc it was so thick. The Reese's cookie was salty and sweet. The Twix was my favorite cookie, but also the sweetest. I definitely couldn't finish it in one sitting. I kinda wish the Krispy also had a cookie layer because it was essentially a giant rice Krispy. I love Rice Krispies, so I'm not complaining. But, as a cookie shop, I think that would've been a nice touch. I would recommend for a gift or a sweet treat!

I did not care for getting a refund. I understood I already opened the packaging, but as soon as I pulled it out, I realized that it was dark chocolate. I would ask that the bars are labeled dark, chocolate or milk, chocolate. Because the picture on the front shows the bar being milk chocolate. I couldn't tell through the packaging. After I walked out, I threw the bar in the trash.
