If you're in the area and looking for a gun ran range, this is the spot. Saturday mornings can get real busy and there might be a wait, but it's not that bad. Prices are standard for a typical shooting range. However, I can't give this place a 5 star because other rangers have set the bar pretty high when it comes to appearance. This place needs a complete facelift and cleaning.

I've been going to ISR for many years. Very professional staff. To check in, you wait at the front entrance to be signaled in to the counter. You will get assigned a lane if one is available or they will notify you when one becomes available. There are 20 lanes. The range fee is for the lane versus paying per hour. My cost for the lane plus 1 target was $23.94. They do have a parking lot. However, if the lot is full, there's plenty of street parking. Once in a while, they'll have a CCW class doing their shooting. That's when the wait for a lane will be much longer.

Such a fun date night at Insight Shooting Range. It was my first time ever at a shooting range and I didn't know what to expect. This turned out to be such a good learning experience that was also really engaging. When you get to the range, they'll basically set you up with any equipment you'll need. You will also have to give your ID and sign a liability form. We spent about 1.5 hours here and it was plenty of time. It was great time of building adrenaline, focusing and sharpening aim and conversation! Perfect spot for a unique and different date.

Came here for fun as a first timer who has no interest in owning a gun and has never held one! The staff is super chill and nice, both when I called and during service. The parking lot can have limited spaces, but the inside is hugee and you get your individual lane. They seem to have regular customers who bring their own guns to practice. For a date, cost around $100 ( expect $30 per round of 50) so more if you add more ammo. Pretty fast, just going down the aisles to sign the waivers, give id. The staff is knowledgeable and very beginner friendly. He was able to help us choose a gun suited for our experience level and was encouraging. Quite busy, so not like 1:1 attentiveness, basically get your tutorial and footing and off you go! We were given a brief tutorial and some gun safety rules at the counter and then sent off to the range with our caddy. Hearing equipment required $1 deposit. Separate range fees for each person ($20, then 18 for one lane). Inside again spacious, simple. Has a old timer switch to move the target to clip on and shelf on the bottom. Huge broom for the shells and nice organized tray to load the ammo into the magazine. They offer a loader (limited) if you really struggle loading ammo, but i realized its a sort of push in before the dip and then push again in the back sort of slide action. The shooting itself is pretty simple but can make tired arms. Do choose a target with a bright spot in the middle or where you want to aim as you will be rather cross eyed. No rush, do it at your own pace and then pay at the end (not time limit if not busy, just material fees). There is a 2.75 card fee surcharge and keep in mind of taxes. Basic ammo $28, the $8 ones are smaller and less accurate/get jammed easily so not recommended. You rent one gun at a time ( maybe can buy more) and switch it out. They have guns not allowed to be carried in california. As a girl, I felt very safe here and no one was judgemental or haughty. In this place, everyone is respected. The owners (i think) are an old asian couple hehe so cute, but the workers all chill young dudes. Everyone kept to themselves casual/practicing and it was a good vibe. Recommend trying this for a date night or hangout if you can afford to!

I was being referred to come to this shooting range to practice. There were plenty of parking spots. The small garden at the parking caught my eyes. It was well maintained. I checked-in with the staff. Staff is very nice and respectful. They are very knowledgeable about guns as well. They also provided ear muffs and safety glasses. There are a big varieties of guns/shotguns/rifles for rental. There are also interesting targets (e.g. Star War) available for purchase. Price was reasonable. I enjoyed my experience here. Will come back to practice again.

Such a Fun and Unique Date Night! My husband and I decided to try something different for date night, and visiting Insight Shooting Range was such an awesome experience! It was our first time at a shooting range, and we had no experience, but the guys at the front were incredibly helpful. They took the time to teach us how to handle the guns safely and gave us clear instructions. Safety and respect are key here, and as long as you follow the rules, you'll have an amazing time! Everyone was super friendly, and we felt comfortable and well taken care of the entire time. We had such a great time and will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun and exciting experience!

I've been to the range several times, mostly on weekends, and today for the first time during the week. All of my experiences have been pleasant but the knowledgeable staff definitely has more time to impart all their knowledge when it's less busy so if you can come mid week, you will get more attention if you need that. I'm not completely inexperienced but I go shooting infrequently so I still get nervous and have a lot of respect for gun safety. The staff did not talk down to me but instead wanted to help and educate. So if you are new, don't be intimidated. They are approachable. As a woman in male dominated space, I can encounter macho BS, but not here. If you are shopping for a weapon, this is also a great resource for testing out firearms. I tried 3 different pistols while there today. There is plenty of parking and I love that they have a vegetable garden too. The jalapenos are looking good!

4th time here by far one of my favorite shooting ranges. Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly. Wait times if any are reasonable. Chill spot to come practice

It's the best indoor range I'll been too. The staff is great and the price is reasonable. I'll been to most range in Southern California and this is the best. The weekend is a longer wait that's the only drawback.

Exceptional range experience. If you are brining a 556 or shotgun, ask for pricing of the ammunition since you cannot shoot your own.

Ask the Community - Insight Shooting Range

What kind of identification do they require?

We provided our drivers license and they hold them while you're in your lane. I'm sure another form that's recognized as a form ID will be welcomed. Suggest you call them.

Can anyone confirm that they allow .223/5.56 rifles and how much do they charge for ammo? I saw the rules saying that for rifles they have to use range ammo.

They do allow 223/556 rifles. The box of ammo is $20

Do we need to bring our own eye and ear protection gear?

If you have your own yes you can take it but if you don't have any, they do have safety glasses but I believe you have to buy them and they aren't to expensive, as far as hearing protection I'm sure they have the little foam ear plugs but same thing… Read more

Can I bring my own ammo for a 22LR pump action long rifle? Or do I need to buy my ammo at the range?

Saw a review that mentioned you have to buy their ammo if shooting 556... does the same apply to 223?

Yes, for ALL long guns, including shotgun ammo too. They charge at least $1.00/round or more for .223; for 5.56, several cents more/round. It's forced and blatant price gouging.

Can I take my son of 8 years old?

    10+ only

I have a Henry big boy X .45 long colt.. is that allowed at the range? also a 45-70

Can you fire a At-15 rifle at range?

I believe you can, but just call them they have great customer service

    Do you rent guns?

    Yes they do.

Hi do you guys allow shotguns in the range? And what kind ammo is allowed

Yes but you must use their ammo. I beleave it's dove loads.

Do they allow polymer 80 build pistol?

    Yes.

How much for a box of range ammo now?

I use 45 cal and pay about $50.00 plus dollars a box. I remember when ammo was 5 cent a round.

What days can you shoot 556?

I usually will shoot my 223 cal Sunday through Wednesday. I find the more experienced shooters come during early opening hours. The staff are professional and are capable of answering most of your questions.

Can I take my 10 year old son?

    Yes!

Can I take FSC test here?

    yes

Is there required for real id or passport ? Or driver license is fine

What's the fee for a shooter?

During these times. How many people per party are allowed in?

Any update on how COVID-19 restrictions are here? For example, social distancing, wearing a mask, spacing between booths, hand sanitizing stations, tape on the floor and signs on the wall to show reminders of keeping a social distance?

Facemasks are required upon entering the building and while inside. The only exception is when you're actually on the firing line shooting your weapon, you can lower it. As far as clean surfaces at the range and floor, it's a shooting range. It is… Read more

However, my most recent visit has been frustrating. I dropped off a handgun at the end of November for three services and was quoted 6-8 weeks max. We are now approaching 15 weeks, and my firearm is still not ready. Can't even reschedule my class as the staff has been unable to give me a date each time I've called. I didn't want to leave a negative review because my previous experiences here have been great, but this delay is honestly unreasonable. If I would have known the turn around time I would have skipped on services. A friend of mine dropped off his handgun at a different shop for the same services and had it back within a month. I am paying full price for 2 of the 3 services so I might as well have just taken it to the other shop.. I would still consider purchasing items from this store, but unfortunately I will most likely not be returning here for gunsmithing services.

While he was deciding and waiting for his turn, the clerks behind the firearm counter were speaking very loudly about "day drinking" and hoping to clock out in time for happy hour later that evening. One individual in particular (bald/sparse hair with glasses, someone I had not seen there before) seemed especially vocal about it. Hearing employees openly joke and talk about being intoxicated while working behind a firearm counter immediately raised serious concerns for me. Firearms require a high level of responsibility, awareness, and professionalism, and hearing staff casually discuss drinking while actively assisting customers was alarming. What made it worse was how loud and proud the conversation was. They were laughing and hyping each other up about drinking while customers were standing right in front of them. Whether they were joking or not, it reflects extremely poor judgment and creates a very bad look for a business that sells and handles firearms. It gives the impression that safety and professionalism are not being taken seriously. In an environment where safety should be the absolute priority, hearing employees casually talk and laugh about drinking while surrounded by firearms is incredibly concerning and completely unprofessional.

I try to support small local businesses whenever I can, especially ones in my own neighborhood. In early January I stopped into Addax Tactical while I was out riding my e-bike with my dog. The staff were friendly, they were cool about my dog being there, and they even let me bring my bike inside. My first impression was positive. A little later I went back to order a rifle. I wanted a Henry Big Boy .357 Lever Action Rifle. They didn't have it in stock, and I was told it would take about two to three weeks to arrive because the SHOT Show convention was coming up. While doing the paperwork, I also decided to purchase a Ruger 10/22 so I could complete both purchases with a single background check. I left a deposit of about $1,200 toward roughly $2,000 total for the two rifles. Both rifles are very standard models that most gun stores typically have available or can obtain quickly. I could have easily purchased them elsewhere, but I made a deliberate choice to support a smaller shop in my neighborhood and was willing to wait the extra couple of weeks. Based on the timeline I was given, I expected the rifles to arrive by late January and to have them in my possession by mid-February after the required 10-day waiting period. That didn't happen. After three weeks I called to check on the order. Nothing had arrived yet. I waited another week and called again. Still nothing. The responses were always very casual, with little explanation other than that the rifles had been ordered. Around six weeks into the process, I was told the Ruger had arrived but they hadn't called because they assumed I wanted to pick up both rifles at the same time. I went in immediately and started the paperwork to take possession of the Ruger. During that visit I learned something that had never been mentioned before: the Henry rifle had not actually shipped yet, and the shop generally places firearm orders in batches rather than ordering individual rifles. This was the first time I had heard that, even though the original estimate had been two to three weeks. At that point I agreed to upgrade to the octagonal-barrel version of the Henry since I had always wanted that model anyway, and I was told the change would not affect the delivery timeline. After the 10-day waiting period I picked up the Ruger and again asked about the Henry. The answer was still that it had not arrived yet. By this point we were about eight weeks into the process, with no clear timeline. About a week later I called again and received the same answer. At that point I decided to cancel the Henry order and request a refund. I was told the refund would come from accounting and that I should expect a check in two to three weeks. After two weeks I called again and was told it could take up to 30 days. I eventually went to the shop in person to check on the refund. This time I was told I could not bring my bike or dog inside, even though I had been there several times before with both and it had never been an issue. Eventually I received a call saying the refund check had arrived. For the sake of transparency, I'm writing this from memory without the receipts directly in front of me, so the dollar amounts may be off by a few dollars either way, but the numbers below are very close to what was paid and refunded. When I picked up the check, the amount returned was about $370 out of the roughly $1,200 deposit I had paid. That means that after roughly 12 weeks, the final outcome of this transaction is that I effectively ended up with a $830 Ruger 10/22 -- a rifle that typically sells for a few hundred dollars at most gun shops. Even assuming some type of restocking fee, it's difficult to understand how that result makes sense, particularly for a rifle that, according to the shop, had not even shipped yet when I cancelled the order. I went into this purchase specifically because I wanted to support a small neighborhood business like Addax Tactical and was willing to wait longer than usual to do so. Unfortunately, after the delays, the lack of clear communication about how orders were handled, and the final refund outcome, the entire experience ended up being extremely frustrating. If you're considering ordering a firearm here, my advice would simply be to make sure you clearly understand the ordering process, timeline expectations, and refund policies before leaving a deposit. The dude that came out the back stating "I…read morecannot dry fire, only at the range" ruined the sell 100% Im a trigger guy, so going from glock universe to other triggers is a big deal. Dry fire/ trigger pull/ reset is important. I get the remark, just understand what customer needs are first then, ‍

I recently completed the Pistol 101 course at Burro Canyon with Tom from L.A. Progressive Shooters,…read moreand it was a transformative experience. To be completely honest, I started this class with a significant amount of fear regarding firearms. However, the patient, safe, and professional manner in which we were taught immediately put my mind at ease. Tom does an incredible job of prioritizing safety above all else, ensuring that every step is understood before moving forward. His teaching partner Val added such a wonderful, welcoming touch to the class. Her presence and guidance made the experience feel even more approachable and inclusive. Because of their combined efforts, I walked away with so much more confidence than I ever thought possible. If you have been hesitant or nervous about taking that first step, I cannot recommend this course enough--you will be in great hands.

First, thank you Tom for an amazing experience! As someone who's only experience with guns was…read morethrough media/pop culture - I was happy with the training! If you're someone who knows nothing about pistols or don't care to buy one but want to know pistol safety and the "feeling" of using a pistol - I recommend this class! There are many options to choose from but if you're not sure where to start - I recommend the Pistol 101-A: Friendly Intro to Firearms online video!! This will give you a good idea of how you want to proceed while also learning the 4 rules of firearm safety. I took the 4-hr Pistol 101: Safety & Fundamentals training afterwards and honestly time flies when you're learning and having a good time with the instructors and classmates. Also, shout out to my classmates for being supportive and warm, really diverse group! If you do take the in-person trainings at the gun range, I would say please be patient and careful with the driving since it has some curvy areas and wifi is wack up there plus some construction. Definitely take water and snacks!! (FYI; don't put any sweet perfume before the training because the bees wouldn't leave me alone!)
