Caring compassionate physicians! I'm sure I took over my…read moreallowed time, so sorry for patients who had to wait, but you would never have guessed that by the unrushed and thorough appt! I have had so many neurologic exams in the past and most were rushed and documented incorrectly. Not at Neurology Center of Fairfax! Every exam is thoughtful and often repeated if necessary. I drive up to 2 hours each way which is very painful since I have to hold most of my meds but I will endure the shooting pain without complaint for the personalized care that I receive at each visit! Esp thanks to Dr Cho for going above and beyond to speak with colleagues in my acute crises. And To Dr Kurtzke that made room for me bright and early after a holiday weekend.

AT Part 2... I was…read morethen told the next available appointment would again be 4-5 months away, meaning I would end up waiting almost a full year just to be seen as a new patient. I reluctantly agreed to reschedule because I had already waited so long. But then the receptionist informed me that I now owed a $150 cancellation fee and that the appointment could not be rescheduled until I resolved the outstanding balance and spoke with a supervisor. The amount of time I spent on the phone trying to reach someone is a completely separate issue. Every time I called, it took hours just to speak with anyone. I was honestly shocked. Nothing I explained seemed to matter - not the positive COVID diagnosis, not the voicemail records, not the fact that I attempted to cancel in advance, and not the fact that I was never informed about this fee when I specifically asked about it during scheduling. The matter was then sent to the billing department, where I spoke multiple times with Cintzia, the billing manager. She was extremely rude, dismissive, and completely unwilling to consider any explanation or evidence. Honestly, people with that kind of attitude should not be working in positions that involve dealing with customers. Her attitude was essentially: "I see the numbers in the system, and you need to pay." It felt like nothing outside of their internal notes mattered, regardless of what actually happened. It did not matter that I was not even an established patient yet, that I had waited almost 5 months already. According to her, this was simply "office policy." What bothered me most was the complete lack of professionalism, empathy, accountability, and common sense with "Cintzia". It felt very clear that the office staff and billing department simply protected each other regardless of what actually happened. From my experience, even if there is a mistake or misinformation from the front desk, they will deny responsibility, deny receiving calls or voicemails, and continue pursuing the charge anyway. The balance also remained on my account for years without meaningful communication. "Customer service?" Honestly, there was none. During one of my last conversations with Cintzia, I was told that they do not use corporate email for customer care resolutions and that any dispute would need to be handled through physical letters. After 13 years living in the United States, I have never experienced anything this disorganized, unprofessional, and hostile from a medical office. Ironically, after this happened, I started reading the online reviews for this center - and suddenly my experience made perfect sense. And thank God I'm not their patient. I ended up finding an amazing neurology center with wonderful doctors instead. If you have a chance to make an appointment somewhere else, do it. Otherwise, there is a very high chance you may end up trapped in the same endless loop with the "final boss," Cintzia, without any real resolution.

Not only that I'm so frustrated but hurt by the insensitive of the NEOUROLOGY CENTER IN FAIRFAX,…read moreVIRGINIA employees. This office should be ashamed of themselves on how they deal with patients. I visited Dr Richard C. Seetedt MD few months ago. The doctor seems caring, helpful, takes time to talk, answer questions which is always appreciated. To make that appointment took a lot of time and stress with this office. I requested medication for my migraine headache which was given to me. When I call back to have a refill they told me that I have to make another appointment (2 months waiting period) Over a month ago I started experiencing twitching, weakness on my facial muscles as well as eye drooping. I went to see my PCP who told me to go to the dentist and then to the Neurologist, so I contact the office. First I waited for more than 3 minutes until the receptionist answer my call, I gave her my name given her my name, date of birth and told her my situation she tells to wait, instead on placing me on hold she disconnected the call. I was hoping that she will call me back but she never call back. I called back and tried to make the appointment, I told another receptionist my situation and she gave an appointment until October. I told her that I can't wait until October then she transferred my call to the office's nurse who told me to make and appointment for a NEW ISSUE. I called back and the receptionist told me that October is the earliest appointment that she can give me. The absurd amount of stress and effort. Multiple phone calls, call backs.... was just a terrible experience. I tried to call other doctors in the area with no success as for new patient the waiting list was between November and December. I called the NEOUROLOGY CENTER IN FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA and requested an appointment with a different doctor, the receptionist told me if my situation was an emergency to go to the nearest ER. I told her again that I wanted to make an appointment with another doctor since Dr. Seetedt was not available, her response was that it is the policy of this practice to ask PERMISSION to see another doctor and by the time the PERMISSION is granted will be time for my appointment in October. I hung up and cried out of anger, how can people dictates who to see...is this because of INSURANCE MONEY??? . They have to MD's at this office ...I don't understand why as a patient can't decide who to see!!! I asked again to speak with the Nurse and she told me that it was nothing that she can do as my doctor was on vacation. I ask her to see another doctor ... her response was "you have to ask for PERMISSION" I can't help you go to the ER. I told them several times that I was told that I may have Bell's palsy, there response was. Sorry we can't help you. I called my PCP to request for a list of neurologist, finally I was able to get an appointment with another doctor. The diagnosis: Bell's palsy I would not recommend this practice to anyone.

Summary: would not ever use Doctor Sumin Ko's services again…read more Have used the services of Doctor Sumin Ko over the last few years when I have visited the area. Doctor Ko had previously provided me professional care with a level of trust that I had rarely seen in the medical profession. Until recently. I experienced broken trust with what I can not other than infer as callous disregard for my health and well being. Under the care of Doctor Ko, I suffered the most severe reaction that no one should be left to endure. I can no longer find any reason to have faith in Doctor Sumin Ko's understanding of pharmacology. The only demonstration of professional grasp of the field of expertise which I experienced at Better Life Pain Clinic is on a level of the most simplest of terms. The Better Life Pain Clinic emblem, which is not unlike a flame, is quite suitable to the circumstances of my experience with this pain management clinic. It can be seen at the company's web site: http://www.betterlifepainclinic.com/

Dr. Nayak is a complete GODSEND - he literally saved my life! When other doctors/physicians…read moredismissed my ongoing excruciating pain, Dr. Nayak was able to diagnose my condition right away and set up a plan that made more than perfect sense. I was admitted the same day, was able to be monitored overnight and be provided pain management, and had the surgery scheduled the following day - I am now pain-free, and I just can't thank Dr. Nayak enough! The front staff as well as the assistants/nurses are all so friendly, kind, and welcoming - I was also able to be squeezed in for an appointment, which really never happens with a specialist; the amount of compassion and empathy that this office has is amazing. All my follow-ups have been wonderful, and the office is very responsive in answering any questions/concerns. and/or providing refills on medication(s). If you're looking for a neurosurgeon, there is only one doctor you should be trying to get an appointment with, and that's Dr. Nayak. He is extremely kind, provides a breakdown of everything, answers all your questions, has the best bedside manners, is an expert, and he holds all these accolades/awards/recognitions. I was in great hands, and you will be, too! He is literally the BEST neurosurgeon, EVER! You won't regret seeing Dr. Nayak - I guarantee it!!! +ask for Dr. Nayak - he is the absolute best!!! +friendly staff +located at VHC +paid garage parking

I cannot speak to other surgeons, but I can about Dr. Kader…read more Do not use Dr. Kader as your surgeon. Though I was recommended a different surgeon, Dr. Murry, I went with Kader to get the surgery done before the 2016 year was out. I paid for that mistake. Kader made no major slipups, but in doing the C5-C6 fusion he ended up tightening the spaces around the foramina, the places where the nerves traveling to the arms and back exit the spine - even though I had told Kader that I was an active amateur musician, and that playing was a big part of my life. Within two weeks after the surgery I started noticing symptoms down my arms and into my hands that were not there before the surgery. Except for brief periods, they did not go away, and slowly grew worse and worse. Kader refused to see any problem and only told me to take more drugs - even a year and a half after the surgery. Finally, my pain doctor recommended Dr, Ellegala of Sonospine. Three months ago he opened up the spaces that Kader closed, and my hands already feel stronger and more dexterous than they have in years. Ellagala's surgery technique isn't covered by insurance, and I had to pay $30K, but he fixed Kader's bungle, so it was worth it. But I'd rather not have had to pay it in the first place. When you pick a surgeon, you want someone who is committed to doing the best he or she can for you. Abraham Kader is not that surgeon, so he is not the surgeon you want. Go with Murry if you can.
