I have been coming here for headaches for over a year and I have always pretty much had good…read moreexperiences. I will admit that the front desk receptionist is a bit unprofessional and rude, especially over the phone. I have been seeing Dr. Chehrenama and I recommend her to anyone. Dr Chehrenama is very nice and very knowledgeable and she take a very proactive approach, attempting to find the root of the problem instead of just controlling the symptoms, which I appreciate. She is also very understanding of the preference of using alternative (herbal) remedies instead of pumping you up with different prescriptions. She is a very good doctor.

I've been suffering from migraines for several years now & needed a second opinion, so I searched…read morefor a neuro practice who had PAs on medical staff, and found Neurology & Headache Treatment Ctr in Alexandria. I chose them because they have 2 Physician Assistants (Deane and Tiffany) and as a PA myself, I knew this would be a great, forward thinking, organized practice. Hands down, this is one of the best medical practices I've been to as a patient and seen as a clinician. As canned as I know this sounds, they changed my life. My first appointment was a little frazzled due to a scheduling error and I'll admit, I was concerned. But, after my 2nd visit, I knew I was in good hands. Someone commented the front desk receptionist wasn't pleasant and there are a few (mainly in the back) who seem rather unhappy. Kathy is the main receptionist, is friendly, and great at her job. Deane and Tiffany are the two PAs- They are both incredibly intelligent, friendly, and great clinicians. Very calming and concerned with your care, diagnosis, and devoted to solving your problem. Highly recommend both of them. Dr. Chehrenama is my neurologist & fabulous. When I first met her, I felt she was a little brusque, but after seeing her more, I know that she is just an very intelligent physician whose brain works quickly. She manages to find the tiniest detail that could be the culprit while keeping in mind the big picture. She is very empathetic and wants to solve your problem in the best & quickest way possible. Great, great doc. I have recommended this practice to both friends and colleagues and will continue to do so. They are awesome!

I have been seeing Dr. Sabet since 2016. Not only is she the best neurologist I've ever had, she's…read morethe best doctor I've ever had - and I've had plenty! All my previous neurologists specialized in other areas and basically just did - what they could - for my migraines which was me trying to figure out what to do, suggesting it, them doing it, and going from there. Dr. Sabet was the first neuro to actually take my migraines seriously and try to figure out how to stop them rather than having me just get through them. Are they gone? No...but I'm back to fully functioning b/c of the efforts she has put into my care. And my body hasn't made that easy - finding meds that work only to have my body reject them later. Dr. Sabet has actually spoiled me by setting what is apparently an impossible bar to meet. I've recently been diagnosed with an auto-immune disorder and finding all the necessary specialists has been tough because only my primary care provider comes close to the attention to detail, professionalism, and true concern for my care that Dr. Sabet provides every single time I see her. As for her staff, I've never had a single problem with any of them. They have always been friendly, courteous, and professional. I cannot complain. I'll close with this, I trust and respect Dr. Sabet so much, that even though I have moved out of the immediate DC area, I still drive over two hours one way to see her for each visit necessary and will continue to do so until I physically just can't. She is that good!

When other doctors/physicians…read moredismissed my ongoing excruciating pain, Dr. Nayak was able to diagnose my condition right away and set up a plan that made more than perfect sense. I was admitted the same day, was able to be monitored overnight and be provided pain management, and had the surgery scheduled the following day - I am now pain-free, and I just can't thank Dr. Nayak enough! The front staff as well as the assistants/nurses are all so friendly, kind, and welcoming - I was also able to be squeezed in for an appointment, which really never happens with a specialist; the amount of compassion and empathy that this office has is amazing. All my follow-ups have been wonderful, and the office is very responsive in answering any questions/concerns. and/or providing refills on medication(s). If you're looking for a neurosurgeon, there is only one doctor you should be trying to get an appointment with, and that's Dr. Nayak. He is extremely kind, provides a breakdown of everything, answers all your questions, has the best bedside manners, is an expert, and he holds all these accolades/awards/recognitions. I was in great hands, and you will be, too! He is literally the BEST neurosurgeon, EVER! I cannot speak to other surgeons, but I can about Dr. Kader…read more Do not use Dr. Kader as your surgeon. Though I was recommended a different surgeon, Dr. Murry, I went with Kader to get the surgery done before the 2016 year was out. I paid for that mistake. Kader made no major slipups, but in doing the C5-C6 fusion he ended up tightening the spaces around the foramina, the places where the nerves traveling to the arms and back exit the spine - even though I had told Kader that I was an active amateur musician, and that playing was a big part of my life. Within two weeks after the surgery I started noticing symptoms down my arms and into my hands that were not there before the surgery. Except for brief periods, they did not go away, and slowly grew worse and worse. Kader refused to see any problem and only told me to take more drugs - even a year and a half after the surgery. Finally, my pain doctor recommended Dr, Ellegala of Sonospine. Three months ago he opened up the spaces that Kader closed, and my hands already feel stronger and more dexterous than they have in years. Ellagala's surgery technique isn't covered by insurance, and I had to pay $30K, but he fixed Kader's bungle, so it was worth it. But I'd rather not have had to pay it in the first place. When you pick a surgeon, you want someone who is committed to doing the best he or she can for you. Abraham Kader is not that surgeon, so he is not the surgeon you want. Go with Murry if you can.
