I love everything about Innerstellar - their classes are great, their prices are reasonable and the facility is massive, brand new, swanky and very clean.
Innerstellar's pilates room has all the equipment you could ask for, including a bunch of reformers and springboards, barrels, a cadillac, a chair and many foam rollers, balls, yoga blocks and other accessories. The room is so huge and has such high ceilings that it feels spacious and open despite containing all that equipment. The yoga room is also huge and has plenty of nice mats, blankets and other accessories. I love the whole design of Innerstellar, from the inviting lobby area to the fancy water filling station. The staff is always very friendly and I appreciate that they offer free tea. Overall it's clear to me that they have a great attention to detail and really care about their clients' comfort, as the studio is always very tidy and inviting.
Their online booking system is also very convenient and much appreciated. A lot of other studios use the same online tool but the schedules are outdated. I was therefore pleasantly surprised when I found that I could book Innerstellar classes online just a few hours before a class. The staff is doing a great job updating their website.
I also love that Innerstellar is open 7 days a week and offers such a wide range of courses. They have at least 4 or 5 yoga and pilates classes of various levels every day, so you can always find something that meets your needs.
Their prices are reasonable (private sessions are a bit pricey but classes are affordable) and they've had a bunch of amazing specials ever since this opened earlier this year, so keep an eye out for good deals on their website, on groupon and here on yelp!
Finally and most important, I have been very happy every time I've received pilates instruction at Innerstellar. I've probably been there 20 or more times now and have done private sessions, mat classes, reformer classes and one springboard class. I've mostly worked with Ruthie but have also worked with Melanie, Kiki, Sarah, Ena and Alissa, all of whom were excellent. Each instructor has her own style and challenges her students in different ways, so I recommend trying out a bunch of classes and seeing which one is the best fit for you. So far Melanie's springboard class pushed me the hardest. That class was no joke! Alissa's reformer class is also challenging and I'll definitely be going back. My private sessions with Ruthie and Sarah have been very informative, helpful and challenged me as well. I highly recommend all of these instructors.
Innerstellar's reformer and springboard classes have a 5 person maximum, so I think the classes really are a great deal. They're small enough so you still do get quite a bit of personal attention. All the instructors I've worked with are great about giving everyone in the class individual suggestions and corrections in a very polite manner.
I'm so glad to have such a wonderful studio in my neighborhood! read more
