Tried their food for a quick bite when I was getting my hair done. Ordered coffee and the curry chicken wrap. I've heard good things about their food but never tried them. When I went to pick up my order the staff were very nice. There wasn't only a couple of patrons picking up to go orders and the place didn't look like it was setup for eat in service. Nonetheless, I got back to hair shop and partaked in my order. The coffee was good, the fries which came with the wrap was good also. Now the wrap. It was ok. The sauce wasn't very flavorful although it boasted curry. I'm used to the bold spiciness of curry and I wasn't getting that. I am extremely picky where and what I eat. I only eat plant and some seafood for protein. I tried the Crispy Fish Sandwich and was thrilled from the first bite till the last. Since my first visit, I've eaten the Grilled Salmon as well as their Crispy Fish. The food is always fresh and the sweet potato fries, cabbage and other sides are also excellent there. The staff was friendly & the music was nice, it's a nicely lit establishment with all of the natural sunlight. Seating is minimal BUT if you have to wait, it's still worth the experience. I ordered the Salmon Burger, with sweet potato fries, a slice of carrot cake & the house sauce on the side. The fries were good. The salmon burger was PHENOMENAL! I've been coming here for a few years now but I had not ordered from here in awhile. I've only had their crab cake sandwich which is amazing. In the past I've paid $15 for the sandwich with fries but the price has increased quite a bit. Not a big deal because every bite had been worth every penny. Unfortunately this time the sandwich tasted a bit salty and it was a little over cooked. The sweet potato fries were perfect. I also had lemon cake. That cake was probably the best cake I've ever had...ever...seriously. Despite the disappointment in my crab cake sandwich, I'll definitely be back. Let me tell y'all, run to Inkosi's Cafe for the crab cake sandwich. Now!!! OMG it's one of the best crab cakes I've had so far. Portion size was big so I could only finish half. The crab cake is made of lots of fresh crab & the best part is no fillers. The bun was buttery, soft and delicious. I added pepper jack cheese to mine. It also comes with peppers, lettuce & tomato. Fried fish sandwich... okay if you can fry delicious fried whiting at home then your standards are very picky, especially dining out. The fried fish sandwich was fresh, crispy and extremely light. As if it flopped out of the sea and straight into some hot oil. A friend had the salmon burger, they too were very happy. Food is fresh and all orders were executed nicely. Even the lemonade was homemade and on point. The only thing, and the reason I did not return after they first opened, is the ventilation. The first time when the place was new, we ordered a burger (this is not fast food here people - everything takes time). Anyway, the place was not ventilated well and it was extremely smoky and we all left smelling like we just grilled for hours, charcoal style. I walked into this cafe with high expectations. Boy was I wrong. The second I walked inside I was slapped by a wave of heat that made it feel hotter inside than it did outside. The waiter didn't give me water instead gave me my hot food and hot fries, first while I am thirsty from the beginning when I got into the restaurant. I got the salmon burger which was a bit over cooked and under flavored. Wouldn't order it again. The tropical smoothie was pretty good, heavy on the blueberry, and expensive considering its size in my opinion. AMBIANCE: Decor is really cute, but the bathroom is NOT. A bit gross in fact. Sad. Love this place. Been here several times for a full afternoon and evening of studying. If you are looking for a serene environment with stylish decor, plenty of outlets, free wifi, great coffee, and wonderful food, this place is perfect. The workers are friendly, knowledgable, and are a cherry on top of a great establishment. I wanted to support a black owned restaurant so I searched on Uber Eats and found this one. I placed an order for a salmon burger, fries, grilled chicken wrap and a lemonade. I received the food but no drink. However, I was promptly refunded. The salmon burger was not a pattie, it was a piece of salmon. It didn't fill up the bun so when I bit into it, I only got bread until I got to the middle. Despite it not being a burger (I could have ordered regular salmon), it tasted really good! Just outside Seton Hall campus is this convenient cafe. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Clean and welcoming. The menu variety was adequate for our needs. The food was good, had a salmon burger, chicken wrap, strawberry banana smoothie and a cup of coffee. Everything tastes good especially the smoothie which features almond milk instead of regular milk a plus for me. Not sure how long the business has been open but definitely the best service I've had in New Jersey. I absolutely adore this place. I found them searching for something new on Yelp and was pleasantly surprised. The place reminds me of a spot in downtown Brooklyn on Dekalb (pre gentrification) or uptown on Frederick Douglass--I can't put my finger on it. But it gives me a little nostalgia. My only complaint (and this is coming from my experience in hospitality, nothing else) is that the bar area on the left side of the restaurant is wasted space. The popcorn popper should go and the bar should be an actual bar with a marble top. I'm dying to have cute cocktails with Bae over there. Otherwise, I love how inviting it is. And yes, when it's warm, there is outdoor seating! The food is so good! First off, when I first stepped into this place there was no air or AC, especially when it was 85 degrees that day. Then when I got seated I ordered the salmon burger and fries. The salmon burger wasn't good it was over cooked and dry on wilted lettuce with a mediocre bun and the fries were just alright. However, my biggest issue I had with this place is that I was not served ice water until after I received all my food. We got the crab cake burger and the turkey burger, plus 2 pieces of carrot cake. The crab cake was absolutely delicious and HUGE. The turkey was also tasty and satisfying, and seemed like real meat too and not just "ground whatever". The fries (regular potatoes) were also quite good and we ate all of them--something we never do. The best surprise was that the carrot cake was completely off the chain--best I've had in the Northeast since moving from Texas two years ago. Great icing, great moistness and flavor. We only ordered it because they were out of Red Velvet cake, but the carrot cake is awesome and deserves more attention from everyone. We are foodies and we're picky. I walked by as I was on my cell phone and noticed a beautiful red velvet cake sitting in the cake display that looked delish! I came in after call to purchase 3 red velvet and a carrot cake. I returned home to a sinful bliss of flavor. I also noticed they have fish fry fridays and I returned to try it out. I got the whiting, mac,greens and potato salad. ALL FLAVORTOWN!!!! However, the greens have a lil spice which I don't do. I am definitely coming back back for a personal pan of Mac and whiting. So, so good. The potato salad is good but a lil watery.
